The Legend of Cinderella's Counterattack

"The Lu family's old house?" I gasped. That fire burned almost everything in the Lu family to ashes. How could it be related to what's happening now? Lawrence Lu's face was terribly gloomy. He gripped the phone tightly, his knuckles turning white.

Before we could think about it, the housekeeper rushed in in a panic, his face full of anxiety: "Sir, this is bad! The old lady was attacked on the way back!"

"What?!" I exclaimed, a chill running from the soles of my feet to my heart.

Lawrence Lu acted decisively, immediately arranging personnel to investigate the old lady's situation and strengthening security at home and at the company. My studio was also implicated, and all sorts of malicious comments and attacks flooded in. Fans who once supported me turned against me, accusing me of plagiarism and deceiving the public.

I looked at the disgusting messages on my phone and felt dizzy. It all happened so suddenly and violently, like a small boat in a storm, ready to be swallowed by the huge waves at any moment.

Just when I was about to despair, a strange phone call came in. The voice on the other end of the phone was low and hoarse: "Want to find the truth? Come to the abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city. Remember, you can only come alone."

I held the phone, and the man's voice was like the tongue of a venomous snake, cold and dangerous. Should I go or not? My mind told me to call the police, but my intuition told me that this call might be the key to breaking through the dilemma. Finally, I said to Lawrence Lu, "I'm going."

He raised his head suddenly, a trace of worry flashed in his deep eyes: "Lolo, it's too dangerous, let me go with you."

I nodded and drove alone to the abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city. The dilapidated factory, the desolate surroundings, and the howling wind were all eerie. I followed the instructions on the phone and walked deeper into the factory. Inside the empty factory, only a dim light illuminated a vague figure.

"You're here." The man turned around, and I was surprised to find that it was the cleaner I met backstage at the show!

"It's you? Are you the one behind all this?" I asked, suppressing the anger in my heart.

He sneered: "If you want to know the truth, follow me."

I followed him through dark corridors until we came to a rusty iron door. He took out a key and opened it.

"Go in, you'll find the answers you seek."

I hesitated for a moment, but still walked in. The room was filled with various documents and materials. I flipped through them and found that they were all information about me, Lu Yuxuan, and my friends!

“How could this happen…” I murmured to myself, and an ominous premonition came to my mind. Just then, my cell phone rang. It was Lawrence Lu calling.

"Lolo, where are you? My people found someone following you, you must be careful!" His tone was extremely anxious.

My heart tightened. Could it be that... I suddenly raised my head and looked at the cleaner, but found that he had disappeared.

"Damn it! I fell into a trap!"

I rushed out of the room, my frantic footsteps echoing in the empty factory. Damn it! I'd fallen into a trap! I immediately realized that the cleaner was just bait, designed to lure me away so they could attack Lawrence Lu!

"Sir, please help me catch up with the black Mercedes in front. My friend may be in danger!" I spoke incoherently, my voice trembling with fear.

The driver was obviously frightened by my appearance, but he still stepped on the accelerator and chased after me. Along the way, my heart was in my throat, and all kinds of terrible images kept flashing through my mind.

Finally, the car stopped at a remote pier. I paid the fare and rushed to the depths of the pier. From a distance, I saw Lu Yuxuan surrounded by several men in black. He seemed injured, but he was still fighting hard.

"Lu Yuxuan!" I shouted his name loudly and ran towards him desperately. When he heard my voice, he turned his head sharply, his deep eyes filled with worry and self-blame.

"Lolo, why are you here? Go away! It's dangerous here!" He yelled at me, his tone full of anxiety.

"I won't leave! If you want to go, let's go together!" I cried, my tears blurring my vision.

"Oh, that's really touching." A cold voice came from behind me. I turned around and saw a man in a black windbreaker slowly walking towards me with a sinister smile on his face. "It seems that my plan was successful. I lured you two here."

"Who are you? Why are you doing this?" I stood in front of Lu Yuxuan and glared at the man.

"Want to know who I am? You'll find out soon." He sneered, "But I can tell you that all this is just the beginning. You, and those around you, will pay the price for your actions!"

The man said this and walked away. I watched him from behind, a sense of dread I'd never felt before welling up in my heart. Who on earth had we offended? Why were they so intent on targeting us?

"Lolo, we have to leave here." Lawrence Lu took my hand and said solemnly, "This matter is beyond our control. We must take a long-term view."

I nodded, knowing he was right. We were like prey caught in a spider's web. The more we struggled, the more we couldn't escape. To protect ourselves, our family, and our friends, we had to step out of the public eye and find a solution.

We hid our identities and rented a small house in a remote town, trying to avoid the spotlight. Lawrence Lu contacted some of his father's old friends, hoping to find out the identity and background of the man in black, but the information he got was very little, as if this person had fallen from the sky and could not be found at all.

During this period, I lived in anxiety and fear every day, afraid that some terrible news would suddenly pop up on my phone screen. To reassure me, Lawrence Lu turned down all his work and stayed by my side every step of the way.

"Don't worry, everything will be over." He always comforts me like this, but I know that the worry and fatigue in his eyes are no less than mine.

One night, as we were getting ready for bed, we heard a knock on the door. I immediately became nervous. Lu Yuxuan gestured for me to hide in the room, and he tiptoed to the door and looked out through the peephole.

"Who?" His voice was low and alert.

"Mr. Lu, it's me." A strange male voice came from outside the door.

Lawrence Lu hesitated for a moment and opened the door. A man in a black suit stood outside the door, holding a document bag in his hand and a formal smile on his face.

"Mr. Lu, our boss wants you to talk to Miss Lin."

“Who is your boss?” Lawrence Lu asked coldly.

The man smiled slightly, but did not answer, just made a "please" gesture.

“What if I don’t go?” Lawrence Lu’s tone was filled with a hint of danger.

The smile on the man's face disappeared. He took out a photo from his pocket and handed it to Lawrence Lu. The person in the photo was my best friend. She had a terrified expression on her face, her hands were tied with ropes, and her mouth was sealed with tape.

“You…” I rushed to the door, snatched the photo, and glared at the man, “What did you do to her?!”

The man smiled coldly: "Ms. Lin, if you don't want your friend to get into trouble, just come with us obediently."
