The Legend of Cinderella's Counterattack

As consciousness gradually returned, I felt a sharp pain in my arm and my vision went blurry. I struggled to open my eyes and found myself in an unfamiliar place. It was a bare room with crumbling walls and a damp, musty smell.

"Lolo, you're awake!" Lawrence Lu's anxious voice rang in my ears. I then realized that he was holding my hand tightly, his eyes full of worry.

"Where is this? Why are we here..." I struggled to get up, but felt dizzy.

"Don't move, you're injured." Lawrence Lu supported me and leaned against his shoulder, his voice trembling slightly. "We've fallen into a trap. This is..."

Before he could finish, the door of the room was flung open, and a familiar yet disgusting voice came in: "Oh my, my good daughter, my good son-in-law, you are finally awake?"

I tried to open my eyes and saw my stepmother, dressed in a black suit and with a creepy smile on her face, walking slowly towards us. Behind her were several burly men with shiny weapons in their hands, who were obviously her accomplices.

Only then did I notice that the corner of the room was filled with black boxes connected to flashing red lights, which looked shocking.

“What are those?” Lawrence Lu’s voice also became solemn.

"Dynamite!" the stepmother announced triumphantly. "I've set up dynamite all over the room. One flick of the trigger and you'll be gone!"

My heart sank, and a feeling of despair washed over me. How had we ended up like this?

"Why are you doing this?" Lawrence Lu held my hand tightly, staring at my stepmother with a sharp gaze, "Where did we offend you?"

Her voice grew shrill, full of madness and hysteria.

The stepmother roared, with a crazy gleam in her eyes, like a wild beast that had lost its mind.

My stepmother's frantic screams echoed in my ears, and the boxes of explosives looked like hideous monsters, mocking our helplessness and despair. My body trembled slightly with fear, but I held Lu Yuxuan's hand tightly, drawing strength from his determined gaze.

Time passed by minute by minute, and the air in the room seemed to freeze, pressing me so hard that I couldn't breathe. I knew we couldn't just sit there and wait for death any longer. We had to find a way to escape as soon as possible, otherwise it would be too late.

"Yuxuan, we can't wait any longer, think of a way, think of a way..." I urged anxiously, but my thoughts were like a tangled mess and I couldn't calm down to think.

Just when we were almost in despair, Lawrence Lu suddenly stopped, his eyes fixed on a pile of debris in the corner of the room, with an expression of disbelief on his face.

"Lolo, look over there!" He pointed at the pile of junk, his voice tinged with excitement, "There seems to be something behind that!"

I followed his gaze and saw a black iron door vaguely visible behind the pile of debris. If you didn't look carefully, you wouldn't be able to see it at all.

"Lolo, we're almost there, the exit is just ahead!" Lu Yuxuan's voice sounded in my ears, with a hint of hope and encouragement.

I looked up and saw a faint light ahead. That was the exit! The hope of life flashed like a flash of lightning, instantly illuminating my heart. We quickened our pace and rushed towards the light.

However, just as we were about to rush out of the passage, the scene before us made us feel like we were falling into an icy cave.

The exit of the passage was tightly blocked by several strong bodyguards. They were holding weapons in their hands and had fierce expressions on their faces. It was obvious that they were well prepared.

"Want to run? Not that easy!" a bodyguard said viciously, shaking a shining dagger in his hand.

My heart instantly sank to the bottom, and despair surged over me like a tide. Are we really going to die here?

"What should we do? We are surrounded!" My voice was trembling and the original tone was almost unrecognizable.

Lawrence Lu didn't say anything, his face was terribly gloomy, his eyes swept over the bodyguards in front of him, his brain working rapidly, looking for a way to break out. However, the other side was outnumbered, and we were unarmed, so there was no chance of winning.

“Lolo, don’t be afraid, I will protect you even if it costs my life!” Lawrence Lu held my hand tightly, his tone firm and resolute.

She roared hysterically, venting all the resentment and jealousy that had been pent up in her heart for years, and her distorted voice echoed throughout the warehouse.
