Traveling through time, I'm making pancakes in Warhammer
Chapter 45 Reasons
Char asked Howard and Arabelle to produce evidence to support their hypothesis, but Howard couldn't produce any at the moment.
The conversation seemed to have reached a dead end.
"Char, I'm not telling you this just for myself. If Upper Nest really does anything, you'll be the one most affected between us." Arabelle was still trying to convince the other party.
"I'm glad you're so considerate of me, but I receive countless similar reports every day. Just before you arrived, someone reported that a group of lunatics were planning to blow up Kalimdor, but they couldn't provide any further evidence." Char's voice was steady. "We can't act rashly based on some unidentified rumors. We still have to exchange intelligence with the leaders of other gangs. Moreover, your speculation is vague and overly general. So, unfortunately, Arabelle, I can't help you with this matter."
"However, if you are confident that your guess is correct, you still have a choice." Char looked at Arabel and said, "You can come back, and we will..."
"Now that I've decided to leave, there's no regrets," Arabelle said firmly.
So Char stopped talking and gestured to the two sides to send the guests away. The person on his left took out a black sack and a rope and walked towards Howard, apparently wanting to tie Howard up like when he came.
"I think if Lyanna were here, she would make the same judgment as Mr. Howard." Arabelle said this last sentence before the black sack was about to be put on Howard's head.
"Stop!" Char called out to his men. Without any hesitation, the men respectfully stepped aside so that Arabelle could look their leader in the eye again.
"Four years later, you finally uttered that name again." Char stared at Arabelle. "How can you be sure Lyanna will make the same judgment?"
"It's a... feeling." Arabelle looked at Howard's profile, lowering her eyes slightly. "This child is very similar to Lyanna in some ways..."
Silence fell again, but beneath this silence, countless thoughts were surging.
Finally, Char slowly rose from the wooden box he was leaning on. The box made a teeth-grinding creaking sound as it recovered from its oppression. Then, Char looked directly at Arabel and spoke, "Intuition is a very unreliable thing... But this time, since you mentioned that name, I am willing to help you."
"Thank you." Arabelle said, relieved.
Half a Terran standard time later, Arabelle and Howard came out of the small iron door again. After confirming that they had left, Char's men who followed them closed the door from the inside.
Howard, who was blindfolded, heard the door close and knew he was out, so he took off the sack covering his head.
He turned around to look at the closed iron gate. It seemed that what finally convinced Char was not logic or reason, but human feelings?
"The man we just met was called Char. Earlier, the doctor I asked you to find was called Ivan." On the way back, Arabelle said to Howard.
Howard thought that this was a new plot that would be unlocked after the favorability increased to a certain level?
But he didn't dare to ask, so he could only listen.
"A long time ago... or maybe not that long ago, the four of us were together," Arabelle continued.
"The fourth person is Lyanna?" Howard asked?
Arabelle nodded.
"Was she the one who lived with you before?" Howard continued to ask.
Arabelle continued nodding, then realized something was wrong and asked, "How did you know she lived with me? I don't think I've ever mentioned her to you before today."
"When I stayed at your residence before, I discovered traces of another person's life," Howard answered truthfully. "There are two types of wear marks on the handrail leading upstairs. One is yours, and the other, judging by the distance of the wear, is only about three-quarters your height. You have to bend down every time you open and close the doorknob, but if you substitute that person's height, it's just right. Also, the carpet in the bathroom has two different degrees of depression, and judging by the footprints, the person was much shorter and thinner than you. So I guess there must have been someone living with you for a long time before you took me in. Of the two rooms on the second floor that you didn't allow me to enter, one is yours, and the other must be that person's."
"And now I know, that person's name is Lyanna, and it's a girl, right?" Howard asked.
After hearing Howard's analysis, Arabelle was speechless for a moment. In the end, she could only laugh dryly and cough a few times to cover up her surprise. Then she looked at Howard and nodded. "Yes, you guessed it right."
"Lyanna is the youngest of the four of us." Arabelle's tone was filled with reminiscence and emotion. "Among the four of us, I am the oldest, Char is a little younger than me, Ivan is even younger, and Lyanna is the youngest. She is our...sister."
Howard just nodded without saying anything. He knew that the audience could not interrupt during the favorability plot, and could only make a choice after the character gave you the option.
Arabelle had no way of knowing the strange thoughts in Howard's mind, so she continued: "Although Lyanna is the youngest among us, she is smarter than all of us. She can easily guess what we are thinking, but we can never figure out her strange thoughts..."
Arabelle opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing. Finally, she took out a cigarette, lit it, took a puff, shook her head, and said with a sense of loss, "But that's all in the past. I shouldn't have told you this."
Howard nodded and did not ask about the follow-up. Instead, he thought to himself that it seemed that the favorability was not enough. The increase in favorability this time was only enough to unlock this part of the plot.
After taking another drag on her cigarette, Arabelle threw the butt to the ground and stomped it out. Then she patted Howard on the shoulder and said, "Alright, Char said he'll go back and handle this, so we can leave it to him. He's always been the most reliable among us. If he does find out anything, we can make plans later."
Gululu...
At this point, Howard's stomach suddenly made a discordant sound. When Arabelle heard it, she was stunned at first, then she laughed. Her smile instantly dissipated the little bit of sentimental atmosphere that had been accumulated with great difficulty.
"Oh, you haven't eaten all day." Arabelle patted Howard on the back. "But now the tavern's chef is gone, so we have to go back to eating dry food."
Then Arabelle added, "But the owner of that tavern seems interested in you becoming a chef. You could give it a try. It's a good job. After all, there aren't many people in Middle Nest who can cook, and a good chef is very respected here."
Oh shit, I still can’t escape!
Howard said in his heart.
