Traveling through time, I'm making pancakes in Warhammer
Chapter 36 Treatment
"Identity." The Mechanical Priest asked Howard, his voice hoarse and without any emotion.
"Arabelle sent me to see the Doc," Howard answered truthfully, showing the nut.
The mechanical identity stretched out his hand. His arm was purely mechanical, with five very thin mechanical fingers and multiple joints. This should be a specialized modification he made to enable the robotic arm to perform more precise and complex work.
The mechanical priest hovered his mechanical hand about an inch above Howard's palm, and then a blue arc of electricity flowed between the mechanical fingers, and the magnetic force generated directly sucked the nut up.
A red laser radiated from the doctor's electronic eye, slowly sweeping across the entire nut, and then with a "beep", the color of the laser turned green.
"Identity confirmed." The Mechanical Priest looked up at Howard again: "Reason."
It took Howard a moment to realize the Tech-Priest was asking about his reason for coming. While both were somewhat mechanically related, the Om Messiah's manner of speaking was completely different from the Mechanic Priest's. Om Messiah's words were extremely precise, ensuring maximum effective communication and minimizing ambiguity. In contrast, the Mechanic Priest was rather frugal with his words.
"Arabelle was injured and she gave me this nut and asked me to come to Kant No. 15 to find a "doctor." Howard answered truthfully.
"Extent of damage," the Mechanical Priest continued. Howard's understanding of the sentence should be a question, but the oil man managed to make it a statement.
"Blood loss, cuts, broken muscles, fractures, gunshot wounds." Unconsciously, Howard began to answer questions in the same style as the oil man.
After learning about Arabelle's injuries, the Mechanical Priest turned around and left, quickly disappearing in the dry ice smoke. Howard thought he was going to get medicine or surgical tools, but as soon as the Mechanical Priest left, something touched Howard's shoulder.
It was a servitor, two or three times taller than an average servitor. When Howard saw it for the first time, he almost mistook it for an Astartes.
Compared to ordinary servitors, this one had undergone a far more advanced level of mechanical modification. With the exception of parts of its brain and spine, nearly every part of its body had been replaced by machinery. Howard also saw two additional robotic arms attached to its back. Where the arms connected to the main body, Howard saw two culture tanks, each containing two brains, electrodes attached to their surfaces.
Howard initially guessed that these two extra brains were probably used specifically to control the two extra robotic arms.
"Take me there." The voice of the mechanical priest came from the voice generator of the mechanical servant.
Half an hour later, at Arabelle's residence.
The servitor is performing surgery on Arabelle.
The forceps accurately and steadily grasped the final, largest bullet fragment and slowly extracted it. As it did so, the blocked blood vessel began to bleed again. The forceps' built-in micro-laser fired a low-power laser, scorching and plugging the ruptured vessel. Once the bullet was extracted, a small nozzle nearby immediately sprayed a transparent gel into the wound, filling the gap. Then, a white, foamy substance coated the gel.
Howard could understand the principle behind stopping bleeding by burning blood vessels. The human body is capable of self-regulation. After being burned, these blood vessels will no longer have the function of transporting blood, so they will gradually shrink and be absorbed by the body. In order to meet the requirements of blood transportation, the human body will soon grow a new blood vessel to replace the function of the necrotic blood vessel.
As for the gel-like substance and foam, Howard initially judged that the gel was a substance that could promote wound regeneration, while the foam should only serve to seal and protect.
After watching the operation, Howard had a lot of feelings, and his biggest feeling was that he must never get injured in the future.
Because the Empire really doesn't use anesthesia during surgery.
The operation was complete, and the robot servant collected the equipment and was about to leave. Arabelle, half lying on the sofa, waved to the robot servant and said, "Thank you!"
The servitor does not have self-awareness, so these two words are obviously directed at the mechanical priest who remotely controls the servitor.
Howard originally thought that the oil man, who was very frugal with words, would ignore Arabelle's thanks, but he didn't expect that when Arabelle said these two words, the mechanical servant stopped.
"Thanks... are meaningless. Don't cause yourself any more trouble."
The Tech-Priest spoke these words through the voice-generating device on the Servitor.
Howard saw Arabelle roll her eyes and said perfunctorily, "I know, I know. I'll be more careful next time."
The technical priest's words no longer came out of the servitor's voice device. The mechanical arms behind the servitor, which had been opened for the work, were retracted and pressed against its back, and then the door was pushed open.
The door opened, but the servitor did not go out, but slowly backed away.
Because someone else walked into Arabelle's residence from outside.
The man was even taller than the servitor, bald, and had muscles as hard as rock. He had undergone two levels of mechanical transformation. The first level turned part of his flesh and blood into machinery, while the second level added a layer of power armor on top of the original semi-mechanical body.
Howard saw a huge tube connected to the back of the man's head, and a mechanical pump pumped a green liquid of unknown composition into his brain through the tube.
He was so huge that when he walked into the house, Howard even felt that the foundation on that side had sunk a little, and with every step he took, the mechanical parts on his body rubbed against each other, making a clanging sound.
This transformation is... Astartes?
No, an Astartes needs gene seeds to be transformed, and Howard doesn't think that a middle-level person in the hive can get gene seeds, so this person must have used a more brutal and violent transformation method to transform his body to a state similar to that of an Astartes.
As he entered the room, Howard felt the temperature of the air around him rise several degrees due to the heat emitted by the machinery on his body. As he breathed, the entire room began to contract and expand like a bellows.
Howard's hand slowly reached for the gun handle as the person came with ill intentions.
Arabelle noticed Howard's little movement and gently pressed on Howard's hand.
Now four people were squeezed into Arabelle's cabin. Howard and Arabelle were fine as they were still of normal size, but the servitor and the man who came in later had to consciously keep their hands and feet tucked in so as not to break anything.
"Arabelle, I heard you got into some trouble."
