Traveling through time, I'm making pancakes in Warhammer

Chapter 190 The Riddle Man Will Not Die Well

After feeding his fingers to the nun, Howard took a few steps back, ready to guard against any unpredictable behavior from the white-haired sister.

Sure enough, after regaining some of her sanity, Gloria immediately rushed forward. The Battle Sister grabbed Howard's throat and pinned him to the ground, then pressed her knee armor against Howard's chest.

After subduing Howard, Gloria tore off her gauntlet and stuck her middle and index fingers into her throat to induce vomiting. When she could no longer vomit, she immediately pulled out her explosive weapon and pressed it against Howard's forehead.

"What did you do to me?!" the Sister of Battle demanded sharply, "What did you just put in my mouth?!"

As a genetically superhuman muscle sister, this combat nun was not light at all. Coupled with the power armor, Howard could hear the squeaking sound of his ribs under the nun's knees due to the extreme pressure.

Sure enough.

Howard laughed out loud, mocking his own self-inflicted suffering, but the air in his lungs was squeezed out a little more as he laughed.

"Crack!"

Seeing Howard smiling, the nun didn't say much, but directly opened the safety of the explosive weapon.

There was great pain and discomfort in his body, but Howard didn't care. He looked at this ungrateful woman and wondered whether he should fight back or coax her.

"Sister Gloria, I'm surprised you could find this place. It seems you are qualified to know some of the truth." In the end, Howard chose to confront her head-on. He had lost his patience with this possessed woman, so Howard simply decided to give her a chance to know part of the truth. Based on the nun's reaction after knowing part of the truth, Howard will decide whether he will continue to be patient with her.

"boom!"

The nun slightly tilted the gun and pulled the trigger. The bullet shot out of the gun and exploded right next to Howard's ear.

"Don't change the subject!" Gloria pointed the smoking gun at Howard again, "Answer my question! What did you do to me?!"

"I just fed you my pinky finger," Howard replied, his voice like a leaky pipe organ due to the compression of his lungs. "As you can see, my flesh and blood can suppress psychic energy."

The Battle Sister immediately looked at Howard's hands again and found that all ten of his fingers were healthy.

"It just grew back," Howard said.

Seeing the nun's hand reaching for the sword, Howard said coldly, "Sister Gloria, are you going to chop off my hand? Are you ready to pay the price for your action?"

" wipe!"

A cold arc flashed by, and Howard's newly grown little finger and half of his ring finger were cut off by the nun.

Howard's eyelids twitched. On the one hand, it was indeed because of the pain, and on the other hand, he was shocked by the ruthlessness and decisiveness of the nun. She was indeed a ruthless character who would execute his teammates on the battlefield if they showed any signs of retreat.

I just don’t know if this kind of cruelty is only directed at others, or at everyone, including oneself?

Two bloody fingers rolled on the sand, but the blood from Howard's broken fingers stopped immediately.

Then, just like when Howard bit off his finger before, a new finger grew back within a minute.

"Are you an immortal?!" Gloria was surprised, and then her eyes were filled with flames of nothingness. This psychic combat nun also activated a skill similar to the psychic insight of the Eldar prophet before. Of course, the effect was far from being as strong as that of the Eldar prophet.

"I don't sense any spiritual energy from you." The fire in the nun's eyes died down, and her pupils returned to dark green. Then she offered another guess that completely contradicted the "Eternal" theory: "Are you soulless?"

But she quickly denied this speculation, "No, your self-healing speed is something that even an immortal can't achieve, let alone a soulless person."

"So, who are you? And why are you here?!" The nun's tone was still aggressive.

"Who I am... I don't know that either, but the only thing I can be sure of is that I'm human," Howard replied. "My coming here could be a coincidence within a necessity, or a necessity within a coincidence. Until everything is confirmed, I can't give you an answer."

If Howard reviews what he said during the day in the dead of night, when he comes to this sentence, he will definitely complain: What nonsense was I talking about?

Because he himself could not understand the meaning of this sentence, but it did not prevent him from answering the nun's question in this way.

He once watched a TV series called "Half a Show Rules the World," where many characters' special skill was how to talk nonstop for half an hour without actually saying anything. Howard later realized the power of this skill in his studies, work, and interpersonal relationships, so he deliberately trained himself to tell seemingly intimidating, yet essentially meaningless lies, with some success.

Because the human mind can automatically fill in and outline gaps, many people feel their IQ is insulted when they say correct nonsense, but the listeners don't think so.

When most people hear words they don’t quite understand, they don’t immediately ask the speaker what the words mean, because that would make them appear stupid. Instead, they would begin to ponder the “deeper meaning” of the words. In the process of pondering, the human mind will involuntarily begin to structure the words in the way it wishes and desires, thereby reading from them the meaning that it subconsciously wants to believe and hope for.

This is also the reason why many people are willing to be riddlers. People who are willing to be riddlers don't necessarily say confusing things for some bullshit reason like "the secret cannot be revealed". It is more likely that they are also confused about the understanding of the matter, but they are thick-skinned enough and have a lower bottom line that can hold on. So they can calmly say some correct nonsense as bait and pathfinders. After throwing these out, they can hide in the dark and observe others' deconstruction and performance of their riddles and nonsense, so as to obtain more information, and finally create the illusion that they are one step ahead and have everything under control.

This is also why many riddlers seem to have anticipated everything, but still end up in a tragic end. If you anticipated everything and still allow yourself to end up in a tragic end, what's the difference between that and not anticipating anything at all?

Sure enough, this seemingly profound and philosophical but actually nonsense really scared the nun, so her attitude towards Howard became a little softer. Specifically, the muzzle of the gun drooped slightly, from pointing at Howard's upper body where it could kill him to the lower body, and at the same time, the nun loosened the pressure on Howard with her knees.

It seems that my nonsense really worked!

Howard felt a little proud in his heart, but there was no fluctuation on his face.

Riddlers don't have a good death, but it must be said that it's really fun when it's your turn to be the riddler.

Then the next second, the dagger that cut off two of his fingers was against his face.
