Traveling through time, I'm making pancakes in Warhammer
Chapter 149 Crossing the River
What is brewed in Nurgle's soup pot is Nurgle's plague. Every time a new pot of thick soup is boiled, Nurgle will sprinkle his new masterpiece into the galaxy as a gift, allowing billions of lives in the galaxy to gain a rotten new life in the plague.
Facing the soup spoon extended by Nurgle, Howard looked at the "soup" inside that was as sticky and shapeless as slime and mixed with unknown solid residues, and his face was troubled.
This is no longer a question of whether it is disgusting or not.
Howard knew that if it weren't for this layer of bubble protecting him, just smelling the spoonful of soup would be enough to kill him dozens of times.
Howard swallowed with difficulty, stretched out his hands and grabbed the huge soup spoon, closed his eyes and made up his mind, "I've seen Slaanesh before, so why should I be afraid of this?"
But just as Howard was about to close his eyes and force down the spoonful of soup, Nurgle pulled back the spoon.
Seeing Howard's bewildered expression, Nurgle laughed heartily and said, "Guest, you can't drink this soup now. You must cherish your life. If you drink it now, you will undoubtedly die. However, I will always keep a bowl of soup for you. When you can drink it, you are always welcome to come and taste it."
Howard breathed a sigh of relief, but Nurgle's next words made him nervous again: "Guest, are you from Sally's?"
Howard hesitated and shook his head: "I don't know."
Nurgle frowned, "But you smell of Sarris."
So Howard told Nurgle everything about himself and Slaanesh, but of course he packaged it and concealed the information related to his time travel and Om Messiah.
"That's strange. I thought your power was given by Salisi." Nurgle showed a puzzled expression. "My children told me that the food you made can destroy my gift, but you have no soul."
Then Nurgle lowered his head, trying to make Howard's eyes level with his own, but even if he put his chin on the ground, Howard's height could only reach his nose.
"Guest, since you said that the magical power of your food has nothing to do with Sally, then I would like to see the magical food you made, okay?" said Nurgle.
Howard did not refuse. He opened his pocket and gave the only two pancakes he had to Nurgle.
Nurgle carefully held the two pancakes, looking from left to right, then said somewhat embarrassedly, "Sir... I don't see what's so special about this ball of flour."
"You can try it," Howard said.
So Nurgle threw both of his pancakes into his mouth. After swallowing them, he was stunned. After a long moment, he gave two words as his evaluation: "Delicious!"
"It's my honor," Howard said.
"Guest, can you make more, more of this magical food?" Nurgle asked impatiently.
"Of course I can, but I don't have the tools or ingredients right now," Howard said.
Then Nurgle looked at the psyker beside him. The psyker bowed deeply to Nurgle and floated away. Soon he floated back, and this time he brought back a full set of tools and ingredients for making pancakes.
Howard recognized this set of tools. They were the kitchen utensils he used to make pancakes at William's mansion.
"Please come in, guest." Nurgle said politely.
Howard then started cooking a pancake in front of Nurgle, and soon a pancake was ready. Nurgle took the pancake and was about to eat it when a curious Nurgling crawled along Nurgle's beard to his mouth, wanting to see what his father was holding. Nurgle was stunned for a moment, then smiled and fed the pancake to the Nurgling.
The Nurgling who had eaten the pancake cheered, then slid down Nurg's beard and danced around him on the ground.
"My children seem to like the food you cook too." Nurgle said happily as he looked at the dancing little Nurgle spirits.
So Howard continued to make pancakes. There was no concept of time in the warp, and there were no stars like the sun or the moon in Nurgle's garden that could be used as reference. So Howard didn't know how long he had been making pancakes, and he didn't know if it was because of Nurgle's influence. Howard felt like he had been making pancakes for a long time, but he didn't feel tired, hungry or thirsty.
Ever since Nurgle discovered his own children loved Jianbing Guozi, he never ate a single one. Instead, he distributed all the Jianbing Guozi he made to the demons around him. Every demon, every Nurgling, and every Nurgle beast eventually received a Jianbing Guozi. Initially, these Warp creatures had looked at Howard with hostility, but after consuming the Jianbing Guozi, they all looked at him with much friendlier eyes.
After an unknown amount of time, so long that Howard had even forgotten when and why he started making Jianbing Guozi, Nurgle saw that the children around him had tasted Jianbing Guozi and said to them, "Alright, alright! Children! Let the guests rest!"
Hearing Nurgle say this, the group of monsters made frustrated sounds.
After comforting his offspring, Nurgle brought up two plates, which contained the two most perfect pancakes that he had carefully selected from the tens of thousands of pancakes made by Howard.
He poured a large spoonful of soup on one of the pancakes, then handed the pancake to a Nurgling and said to it: "Give this pancake to the child who is always unhappy. You are not allowed to eat it secretly!"
The Nurgling agreed and ran away happily with the plate on his head.
Nurgle did not pour any soup on the second pancake. He handed the plate to a Nurgling and instructed, "Give this pancake to..."
But Nurgle took the plate back mid-sentence and said, "I'd better go and give it to her myself. You must treat the guest well, but you are not allowed to touch him."
After saying that, Nurgle slowly walked away with the plate, twisting his huge body, and soon disappeared into the depths of the garden.
“Guest, guest, guest, guest!”
After Nurgle left, groups of Nurglings circled and cheered around Howard. These little monsters took out strange instruments from nowhere and played eerie music for Howard. Another group of Nurglings jumped in front of Howard, carrying baskets and bottles filled with honey, various strange drinks, and picked fruits.
Howard didn't dare to touch any of those strange drinks, but he picked up one of the fruits out of curiosity. However, when he peeled the fruit, he saw densely packed maggots crawling inside the fruit. Howard immediately got goose bumps all over his body, and then he resisted the urge to throw the fruit away and put it back in the basket.
After an unknown amount of time, Howard watched the fruit he had peeled become shriveled, then covered with mold, and then the maggots inside pupated and flew out. Only then did Nurgle finally return to his cauldron.
At this time, Nurgle was still holding the plate in his hand, but the plate was empty, and Nurgle's already cheerful expression seemed to have a little more happiness.
The first thing Nurgle said to Howard after returning was: "Guest, here is a gift for you."
Then He spread out His hands, and in those swollen and eroded hands, a green leaf emitting a soft light was quietly floating.
The green tender leaf floated in front of Howard. Howard reached out to catch it. The leaf fell into his palm and melted into his flesh and blood.
"Guest, please stay here." After Howard accepted the gift, Nurgle continued to say to him: "The children, I, and all the beings in the garden like you. You stay and cook delicious food for us. I can give you anything you want."
"I...I'm afraid I can't accept your kindness." Howard shook his head.
"Guest, you are being watched now. You will be in danger if you leave the garden. In the garden, I can protect you and no one can harm you." Nurgle tried to persuade him. "You can also take your friends to live with you in the garden."
But Howard still shook his head: "I'm sorry, but I still have some things to do..."
Nurgle was silent, and he looked at this tiny human with deep eyes.
"Guest, the difficult path may not necessarily be the right path, but I respect your choice." Nurgle said: "You are always welcome to visit my garden."
After saying that, Nurgle ordered the psyker to send Howard out of the garden. The psyker took Howard and floated up again. The two did not communicate at all during the process.
Howard didn't know how long he stayed in Nurgle's Garden, but to be honest, if you ignore the horrific appearance of the creatures in Nurgle's Garden, it was actually a relatively pleasant trip?
Soon the psychic sent Howard back to the portal he came from.
"Mr. Howard, please go back." The psychic said to Howard, "When you want to visit the garden again, just tell anyone your request."
Howard nodded, thinking to himself that he would never do such a wicked thing, and then returned to the real world through the portal.
"Come on!"
But when Howard landed, what he stepped on was not the original brick and stone floor, but a layer of sticky flesh.
