Crossing the Cultivation Realm: Two Souls Coexist

After pushing aside the last thick curtain of vines, the scene before them made Hu Qing and Xiao Zi hold their breath involuntarily.

They seemed to have stepped into an isolated, miniature and magnificent fantasy kingdom.

The first thing that caught my eye was not the village or town I had imagined, but a tree whose size could not be described in words!

It stands in the center of the space surrounded by a circular wall of trees, with a very thick trunk.

It was like a blue-brown mountain that stretched from the sky to the earth. Hu Qing even suspected that even if hundreds of people came together to hug it, they might not be able to surround it.

Its crown is so huge that it is hard to measure, like an extremely huge and vibrant green sky.

The entire kingdom is gently enveloped by it, and the sunlight shines through the gaps between the layers of branches and leaves, casting countless soft beams of light, like a veil of light dropped by a god.

Countless thick branches stretch out in all directions like giant dragons, the farthest even extending for dozens of miles.

It is connected and integrated with the giant trees that serve as "walls" on the outside, as if those trees are really its offspring, loyally guarding the mother body.

"Oh my...Tree God..." Hu Qing muttered subconsciously, his eyes full of shock.

He originally thought that the "tree god" Connor mentioned was just a spiritual belief of these little people.

I never imagined that such a concrete, miraculous entity could actually exist!

Xiao Zi's attention was more attracted by the scene on the ground.

It widened its dragon eyes with curiosity, looking at the tiny figures as busy as ants at the foot of the giant tree.

Countless little people wearing clothes woven from colorful leaves and soft bark are diligently drying various fruits, fungi and unknown flower petals on some low wooden racks.

In the air, several familiar giant green cicadas were buzzing and flying, holding net bags woven with vines on their backs or under their claws, which contained various supplies.

Following the instructions of the little man on the ground, they landed precisely in different areas, just like an efficient and orderly air transportation system.

The whole kingdom is filled with a peaceful, busy and harmonious atmosphere.

Hu Qing's eyes quickly locked onto Connor not far away.

He was standing in front of an elderly man with a white beard, holding a gnarled wooden staff, and wearing noticeably more refined clothing.

He lowered his head and listened to something respectfully, as if he was reporting a situation.

Xiao Zi pulled the corner of Hu Qing's clothes with her claws, signaling him to pay attention to the conversation over there.

Only then did Hu Qing shift his attention from the macro shock back to the micro details.

He noticed that the dwellings of these little people were not built on the ground, but were cleverly constructed between the branches of the shorter giant trees around them.

Each tree is built with wooden spiral staircases, platforms and small and unique tree houses. Most of the roofs are covered with huge leaves or woven straw mats, like exquisite bird nests hanging in the air.

There are some low sheds built with dead grass and branches scattered on the ground. They seem to contain tools or some small insects, but their purpose is unknown.

Just as Hu Qing and Xiao Zi completely walked out from behind the leaves and looked at this miniature world curiously——

"Om-!"

A green cicada in the sky apparently discovered the two uninvited guests. It emitted a sharp and rapid buzzing sound, which instantly spread throughout the kingdom like an alarm!

Immediately afterwards, several green cicadas swooped down from the sky like fighter jets receiving orders.

With a strong airflow, it landed steadily around Hu Qing and Xiao Zi, surrounding them!

These giant cicadas vibrated their wings, made threatening hisses, aimed their mouthparts at them, and flashed vigilance in their compound eyes.

The tranquility on the ground was instantly broken!

The busy little people finally discovered these two intruders as huge as mountains.

Screams and cries suddenly filled the air!

Many little people were so scared that they dropped what they were holding, ran around in panic, and hid behind trees and under wooden racks.

He only dared to stick out half of his head and secretly looked at the two "monsters" with his big eyes full of fear and curiosity.

Some mothers hurriedly picked up their children and quickly climbed back up the ladder to the high tree house.

Connor and the elderly man in front of him were also startled and turned to look.

Connor was stunned at first, and then anger of being deceived quickly surged on his face!

He ran over angrily. Even though he was not even as tall as Hu Qing's ankles, he pointed at Hu Qing without fear. Because he was extremely angry, his speech was as fast as a machine gun:

"It's you! I knew it! You cunning and treacherous villain!

No wonder you were so kind to let me go! You're the one who made me smell like apricot trees, right?

You followed me! Just to find our kingdom! Aren't you afraid that the tree god will punish you and turn you into fertilizer?!

The elderly man also followed, leaning on a wooden stick, and was guarded by several strong men.

Although he looked old, his eyes were extremely calm and wise. He was not as panicked as the other villains, but just looked at Hu Qing and Xiao Zi carefully with a scrutinizing gaze.

At the same time, many little warriors holding wooden bows quickly emerged from the stairs and platforms of the surrounding tree houses.

They were agile and well-trained, and soon occupied advantageous shooting positions on the branches.

The leader was the handsome little man in gold-threaded clothes whom Xiao Zi had seen before. He had a stern expression, raised his arm, and shouted:

"Archers! Draw your bows! Aim at the intruders!" His voice was clear and majestic.

"Squeak-squeak-squeak--"

The hair-raising sound of bowstrings being tightened rang out from all directions. Densely packed emerald green arrowheads, tempered with paralyzing juice, flashed dangerously coldly in the light, all aimed at the vital points of Hu Qing and Xiao Zi.

Although the arrows are small, the sound they make when combined together is enough to scare any intruder.

Xiao Zi let out a low, threatening grunt from his throat, lowered his body slightly, and purple electric light flowed between his scales, ready to spit out dragon breath at any time.

Hu Qing immediately raised his hands to indicate that he meant no harm.

He took a deep breath and tried to keep his voice calm, yet it was clearly heard throughout the suddenly silent kingdom:

"Don't be impulsive! We are not here to provoke or destroy! I am only here to find my companions!

A human like me was brought here by your giant cicada about a few days ago!

As soon as we find him and make sure he's safe, we'll leave immediately and not disturb him any further!"
