Zhilin was happy to let them choose so that he wouldn't have to worry about it.

Zhilin was about to pay when he saw some smaller couplets at the back. After a moment's thought, he said, "Why don't we get some for the Pokémon too? I'll put one on the fish tank of the Chouchou fish, and you, Zhuyu, can put one on the nest of the Cottonbird."

Zhu Yu's eyes lit up and he agreed, "Good idea! I'll pick another one then."

Finally, Zhilin chose one that said, "Koi fish jump over the dragon gate, and fish and dragons dance gracefully." It goes well with the electric dragon and the ugly fish.

After buying the Spring Festival couplets, they went to a shop selling window decorations. The shop was filled with all kinds of exquisite window decorations, including cute Pokémon, beautiful flowers, festive blessing characters, and so on.

Xu Wu picked up a window decoration with the Chinese character "Fu" (meaning "blessing") and held it up to the sunlight. "This character is so delicate. It would look beautiful on a window. Look at the vibrant red. It feels so festive."

Finally, they chose a bag full of window decorations and left the store satisfied.

After buying window decorations, they went to the supermarket to buy other New Year supplies. The supermarket was bustling with people coming and going. The shelves were filled with a dazzling array of goods.

Zhilin pushed the shopping cart, putting things in it as he walked: colorful candies, nuts, snacks, and fruit drinks.

Zhilin, passing by the noodle section, suddenly thought, "Oh, Xu Wu, don't you have the custom of eating dumplings during the New Year in the north? We should make some too."

Xu Wu nodded repeatedly: "Yes, yes, yes! Can you make the filling? I only know how to make dumplings."

Zhilin nodded.

Zhu Yu said, "Then let's just buy some dumpling wrappers so we can cook them together."

Zhilin shook his head again: "No, I can roll out dumpling wrappers too!"
