Chapter 216: Hat of Glory
"It's amazing that you were able to take my blow." Kizaru's words were a mixture of joking and seriousness. He stood on the rooftop, his hands in his pockets, his expression nonchalant yet dignified, as if the entire world was gently swaying beneath his feet. He raised his eyebrows slightly, his movements effortless and natural, as if everything was under control. Then, he slowly took off the hat on his head, a symbol of status and honor.
"So, are you ready for a light-speed kick?" Kizaru's words tinged with subtle excitement, as if what was about to unfold wasn't just a battle, but an artistic performance. At that moment, the air seemed to freeze, and everyone held their breath, ready to witness the legendary collision of speed and power that would transcend the limits of human cognition.
Flashing back to an hour ago, across the azure waters, as Tiger's wooden canoe gently nestled beneath the ancient and mysterious hem of the Red Earth Continent, not far away, a seemingly insignificant warship, like a ghost in the night, silently glided across the shimmering surface. This was no ordinary patrol fleet; its heart beat with the throes of a major admiral. Even more remarkable was the distinguished passenger it secretly carried—Admiral Kizaru, the shining light of one of the three admirals of the Marine Headquarters.
Kizaru, a seldom-seen high-ranking member of the Navy, has been thrust into the spotlight on a top-secret mission. His goal is to search for the precious materials that will ignite Vegapunk's brilliant vision: a grand plan to integrate the power of his "Laser" fruit into future weaponry. This represents not only a quantum leap in the Navy's capabilities but also a new extension of Kizaru's personal abilities, a perfect fusion of technology and power.
Deep within the warship, in a brightly lit cabin office, Kizaru leisurely carved the traces of time with a delicate pair of nail clippers. On the desk, a detailed report on the rare metal exploration trip lay quietly, awaiting the mission's successful conclusion. This unhurried demeanor was Kizaru's unique interpretation of work efficiency.
As the night deepened, Kizaru slowly stepped out of the cabin, into the boundless darkness. The moonlight seemed obscured by his own radiance, leaving him feeling strangely alienated from the night. Perhaps it was his laser ability, as dazzling as the sun, that created a subtle contrast between the tranquility of the night and his presence. Or perhaps it was simply a silent yearning for light deep within him.
Standing on the deck, Kizaru's gaze inadvertently swept across the red earth continent behind him, where countless ancient legends and historical secrets were hidden. An elusive light flashed in his eyes, as if at that moment, he was quietly connected with some distant memory or future vision.
During this trip, Kizaru not only completed the mission, but also visited the Marine Headquarters and had a brief meeting with the iron-blooded and strict Admiral Akainu. Unfortunately, he was unable to meet the equally distinctive Toya, who was said to have once again embarked on a journey to conquer the ocean.
"Freedom, it's so desirable." Kizaru murmured to himself, a faint smile on his lips. He then tightened the collar of his coat, turned and walked into the cabin, immersing himself in sleep. There, perhaps another adventure on the sea of stars was waiting for him.
When Kizaru opened his eyes again, the morning light hadn't yet penetrated the clouds, yet he felt as if he had only dreamed for a moment. This perception of time, like his ability to manipulate light, was both subtle and powerful. Kizaru stretched, thinking to himself that this trip, though brief, had been wonderful enough, enough to leave him with another memory worth savoring in the years to come.
In the dim light of dawn, a rapid, slightly panicked knock on the door, like a sudden thunderclap, abruptly yanked him from the gentle embrace of sleep. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, as if embracing a final lingering dream, he stumbled to open the door. Outside, the adjutant's figure, in the faint morning light, stood there anxiously, like a leaf swept by the wind.
"Admiral Kizaru, this is an emergency call! It's coming from Mary Geoise, the holy land where power and glory are intertwined." There was a hint of suppressed tension in the adjutant's voice.
Kizaru suddenly remembered that he had been away from Mary Geoise for some time, and that over there, the slave liberation movement of Tiger and Tea was in full swing. However, the signal for help was like a belated kite, almost wobbling into his hands when the storm was about to engulf everything.
After listening to his lieutenant's detailed report, Kizaru's brow trembled slightly, like willow branches in the morning breeze. He turned back to his office, picked up the Den Den Mushi that seemed to connect the entire world, and dialed Sengoku's number. Sengoku's voice on the other end was a little anxious, but when he learned that Kizaru was nearby, his tone immediately softened, as if grasping a lifeline. Kizaru didn't hesitate, volunteering to go to Marijoa to provide support, where the battlefield was in turmoil.
Zhan Guo's mood at this moment was like a desert scorched by the scorching sun, desperately in need of a gentle rain. And Kizaru was that timely rain. He was the only one who could quickly reach the battlefield, like the brightest star in the night sky, guiding the lost people forward.
However, Kizaru felt a little hesitant. From the call for help relayed by his lieutenant, he could sense that the situation there was already in chaos, a sea of fire raging, as if even the sky had been dyed red. This meant that everything might be a foregone conclusion.
But the next words from the person seeking help stirred something in his heart. Among the enemies was a fishman, and a man wearing a mask and cloak, presumably a human. These two enemies, with completely different identities, appeared together here. What secrets lay hidden behind this? Kizaru's curiosity was piqued, especially the identity of the mysterious man, which gave him a vague feeling that this matter was not simple. So, he resolutely embarked on the journey to Marijoa.
A flash of golden light flashed through the sea of fire, like a beam of sunlight piercing through the clouds, illuminating the entire battlefield. However, the next second, the light froze on the face of a masked man. Under the mask, Toya's pupils suddenly shrank as he sensed Kizaru's lightning-fast speed. In that instant, Kizaru appeared to his right, his golden right leg lashing out at Toya like a meteorite.
Toya was startled, but he quickly steadied himself and turned sideways. The Haki beneath his Ryuo body surged like a wave, covering his legs. He firmly blocked Kizaru's kick with a side kick, but even then, he could still feel the terrifying power of Kizaru's speed. Kizaru even wrapped Haki around his legs, causing Toya to grit his teeth, feeling an unprecedented difficulty.
