Time Travel: Age of Discovery
Chapter 158 Anxiety but unable to escape
The sea breeze stirred Teya's restlessness. Even the sailors beside him tactfully moved away, fearing to disturb his solitude. Teya looked up at the boundless blue sky, the sky was picturesque, but his heart was in a completely different state. It was as if something was blocking his throat, and he was anxious but unable to escape.
He felt someone approaching from behind. Teya didn't turn around, but when Sakaski stood beside him, a sense of surprise still overwhelmed him. Was he coming for some fresh air?
The two stood side by side in silence, a silence that didn't seem awkward between them. Teja remembered something and calmly pulled out the cigarette case hidden under his pocket watch. He lit a cigarette and held it between his lips. After a moment's thought, he handed it to Sakaski.
Sakaski's face was gloomy, but the moment he took the cigarette from him, his expression relaxed slightly. He took two puffs of the cigarette and said slowly to Teya, "You may be right, but is this the limit of our ability?"
Sakaski's eyes seemed to warm a little. He had come simply to try to understand Teya's state of mind through conversation, to see if it was worthwhile for him to reconsider his choices.
"Actually, there's still a lot we can do." Teya exhaled smoke and shifted his gaze to Sakaski. "Some things are not what we imagine. At least we need to strive to reveal the truth, otherwise, won't we just become puppets?
Thea's words lost their edge, but the fury in his heart was barely concealed. He was on the verge of accusing them, the navy under the command of the World Government, of being as ruthless as a butcher's assistant, or even worse—just a wielding blade.
Sakaski understood Teya's concerns. He pondered for a long time and decided to take a gamble. If he was on the wrong path, then he would trust Teya's opinion. After all, Teya had always influenced his perceptions, so how could this time be any different?
Sakaski finished speaking and walked away, leaving behind only a "thank you." Teya stared at his back, then continued to smoke silently. Bloodshot streaks filled his eyes, perhaps from the wind or the smoke, but a smile played at the corners of his mouth.
Even among facts that cannot be changed, there are always some things that can be changed.

Teya's gaze lingered on the Marine Headquarters, and at that moment, he felt a tinge of unfamiliarity. Sky Gold's mission had concluded. Though the journey had been difficult, they had finally arrived at the Holy Land on schedule. "Vice Admiral Teya, thank you for your hard work!" The harbor guard saluted respectfully. He nodded gently in response and entered the office building.
Sakaski should have handled this matter, but Toya's actions against Flevans have left him equally culpable, and he still has to face his superior, Sora. Flevans is a thorn in the World Government's side, and even Sora is unaware of the full extent of the situation. However, Sora remains shocked when Toya mentions the deaths of all the members in the Den Den Mushi.
The entire trip was haunted by the events of Flevans, a nightmare that affected Thea particularly deeply. As a sailor, Thea was indignant at the government's shortsighted pursuit of wealth, but he kept it a secret.
He stood in front of the Marshal's room, took a deep breath, and knocked gently. Inside, Sora and Zephyr were talking. When they heard the knock, Sora called out, "Come in."
Seeing his teacher, Zefa, present, he felt a small sense of relief. No formal report was needed; he simply saluted the two men. He opened his mouth to talk about Frevans, but suddenly stopped. He didn't know how to begin, and the pain gradually turned to anger, burning in his chest.
Sora walked over to Teya, patting him on the shoulder in a reassuring gesture, a look of worry in his eyes. "If you don't want to talk about it, then there's no need to," he said. He'd been shocked at first to hear about Teya's sudden arrival in Frevans, but he knew Teya wouldn't put innocent people in danger, so he couldn't stop him or blame him.
The world's most ruthless gfu, the mastermind behind the Frevans tragedy, was unstoppable. Therefore, his rant to Thea over the phone was a covert attempt to conceal his emotions. As the commander-in-chief of the navy, his considerations were for the entire force, not just for himself.
Teya hesitated as Zefa approached him. "Your power is ultimately limited. It's not your fault that things have come to this." His words were full of meaning, a warning to Teya not to let his pent-up emotions run rampant. Teya sighed and finally recounted the events of Frevans, right up to the final scene.
The air thickened as the two listened in silence. "Go get some rest, Teja." After Zephyr took him away, Sora was left alone to ponder. This might be more complicated than he had expected.
Back at headquarters, Teya didn't take on any new tasks, seemingly disconnected from the world. In his spare time, to ease his mind, Teya, like Zefa, returned to his instructor position, using teaching to dispel the haze in his heart.
While the turmoil in Flevans appears to have subsided, it's the calm before the storm. While seemingly calm on the surface, undercurrents surge within. Since the attack on Tenshangjin, the pursuit of Big Mom has intensified. The complexity of this new world makes regulation the only viable option. Any action would undoubtedly unleash unrest throughout the ocean.
Managers understand that the ocean needs more than just peace; it needs a delicate balance, a steady equilibrium. Only when the world government, the navy, pirates, and other forces maintain harmonious relations with one another can the ocean truly be peaceful.
