When it comes to who has the greatest power in the underworld, many people will definitely say it is the King of Hell.

In fact, this is quite true. The Ten Kings of Hell each have their own duties. In terms of power, they should be the ones who have the final say in the underworld.

However, if we were to ask who is the most respected in the underworld... it would undoubtedly be Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva!

Of course, some people think it is Hou Tu Niangniang, because some people believe that she is the only wife of the Jade Emperor, and her position is higher than that of the King of Hell. However, everyone must understand that Hou Tu Niangniang only has a higher status, and the difference between her is that the great vows made by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva are the reason why he is most respected!

If hell is not empty, I will never become a Buddha!

With such a great wish power, who in the world can compare with it?

But don’t forget, a bodhisattva’s sincere vow is itself a kind of merit, and even the Buddha in the West cannot compare to such a great vow and merit.

If someone said he was dead, Tang Ku would never believe it!

This time he went to the underworld to look for the trace of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva!

"Netherworld?"

Looking up at the tall archway and the three eerie words, Tang Ku couldn't help but touch his nose.

Looking at the Chinese mythology system, although this land represents death, it is also like a public toilet. Many powerful people can come and go as they please.

Whether it is Sun Wukong, Master Huaguang, or Mulian in the later story of Mulian saving his mother, they all had glorious deeds that caused havoc in the underworld, and the Ten Kings of Hell and a group of gods of the underworld could not control them at all.

Some people say that the protagonist in the story of Mulian saving his mother is Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, but in fact this is a rumor.

Mulian is a Buddhist guardian arhat, and he is completely different from Ksitigarbha!

As soon as Tang Ku stepped into the underworld, he felt something was wrong!

The underworld is vast, incomparable to the Western Buddhist world. Some people think that the underworld is only as big as Fengdu City, but they are totally wrong!

The underworld is very big, so big that ordinary ghosts will get lost if they leave Fengdu.

The Evil Dog Village, the City of the Dead, the Laughing Forest, the Fengdu City, as well as the Wangxiang Terrace, the Samsara Well, the Naihe Bridge... and so on, are all famous "tourist attractions" in the underworld. In addition to these most famous places, there is another place, which is indeed the place where Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva preaches the scriptures and saves ghosts in the underworld.

Some people call this place the Sutra Listening Place, while others call it the Cleansing Heart Pavilion. It is a thatched hut built by the Bodhisattva to help evil people reform.

"Amitabha, good, good!"

Tang Ku stopped in front of the thatched house out of habit, clasped his hands together, and looked at the crooked sign of the Sutra Listening Hall, feeling a sense of weirdness in his heart.

There was no Buddha power, no ghostly aura, only a dead air! Furthermore, half of the hut had collapsed, indicating it had been abandoned for quite some time.

"It seems that the Bodhisattva is not here..."

Tang Ku recited a passage of sutras for rebirth, then turned and left. Although he didn't understand why he did this, he did it anyway.

He has traveled through the entire underworld. The strange thing is that all the evil spirits in the netherworld have disappeared without a trace, but the souls of those who died unjustly and those who died of natural causes are still moving in the normal order. Those who should suffer in the eighteen levels of hell are still suffering, and those who should reincarnate are still reincarnating.

There is a huge wine pot near the Samsara Well. The pot is suspended in the air, and drops of Meng Po soup drip from the mouth of the pot. The ghosts who need to be reborn drink two or three drops calmly and consciously, and then jump into the Samsara Well to reincarnate.

Everything was still as orderly as when the Ten Kings of Hell were still there, so orderly that it made Tang Ku feel uneasy.

Sometimes, calmness is often more terrifying than madness. Although he was afraid of seeing the ruins of the underworld and the broken walls, and afraid of seeing the demons and evil spirits wreaking havoc in the netherworld, this kind of calmness made him feel scared out of nowhere!

"No... there's something wrong here!"

Looking at the ghosts queuing up for soup, Tang Ku suddenly thought of the great vow that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had made.

If hell is not empty, I will never become a Buddha!

According to his cultivation, vows, and merits, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has already met the standards for becoming a Buddha. Even in the Western world, many Buddhas respect him very much!

So, on the other hand, what if hell is empty?

"Hell is empty, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's wish has been fulfilled. He will naturally become a Buddha right away. And with his magical powers, if he becomes a Buddha, he will definitely be extremely powerful... Could it be..."

Tang Ku seemed to have understood the hidden meaning behind this calmness, and he shuddered. "Although they sent that idiot with the bull-headed head to lead a large number of evil spirits to the human world, they didn't completely eliminate the underworld. Instead, they established some kind of mechanism to keep it running normally. They spent so much effort to maintain the underworld, it definitely has a purpose... And the only thing that can prevent it from running normally is Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva becoming a Buddha! They are afraid of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, afraid that he will become a Buddha, so they let Hell run normally!"

"damn it!"

Tang Ku couldn't help but curse, "These guys are quite sinister, and they know a lot about Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's past. By extension, they are not completely ignorant of this world. On the contrary, it is very likely that some of them know this world very well, which is why they made these targeted arrangements!"

"It's difficult, this is difficult..."

He couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh. "If I could send all the remaining ghosts in the underworld to reincarnation, or even relocate them to the human world, then the Bodhisattva's enlightenment would surely trigger a miracle, and I'd be able to find him. But I'm all alone now, and I simply can't do that! Do I really have to 'savior' all the wronged souls and evil ghosts in the entire underworld with just my two iron fists?"

"That's what we call boundless killing... Haha, these guys are really cruel!" Tang Ku narrowed his eyes slightly and said, "However, this also made me realize one thing. The Western Buddhist world, or other sacred beings, are not truly dead. Otherwise, they would also appear in this world and line up to drink Meng Po soup!"

Those who die unjustly will go to hell, even immortals and gods are no exception. This is the operating mechanism of this world!

In other words, in principle, even if the Jade Emperor died, he would have to come here, even if it was just a formality.

"The souls of the Western Buddhas, including my unjustly killed disciples, should have been imprisoned or refined, but I can only believe it's the former!"

Tang Ku muttered to himself, "But I don't know how I can rescue them? Damn it, this is so annoying!"

hum!

Before he could finish his words, a silver-white light suddenly descended from the sky, and the bright knife light seemed to cover his head like a streak of silk, as if it would not stop until he had killed him.

Looking at the weapon, Tang Ku was speechless and thought to himself, "I think we can talk..."
