Demon Slayer: Upper 0 seems to be a waste

Chapter 7 The Dumb Becomes a Speaker

Lin Guang's life has been quite full lately. It's said to be full, but there's actually not much he can do. It's mainly because Muzan hasn't found a place to put him yet, so he takes him with him wherever he goes. As a result, he seems to be a bit busy and constantly moving around.

But in reality, Lin Guang's job is just to occupy the highest eaves and act as a lookout bird that is nominally there to keep watch but is actually watching the show.

Muzan has recently been leading Kokushibo to eliminate the demon hunters, and the combat power of the two of them has obviously reached the point where Rinko is a hindrance even standing on the battlefield, so Rinko's current state is.

The battlefield was moved and he was thrown on the roof, where he started to bask in the moonlight, look at the stars, and count leaves. Then one of the two men took him back from the roof and asked him if he wanted to eat anything, just like teasing a child.

The one who is mainly responsible for the fun is Muzan, while the one who is usually responsible for the trouble is Kokushibo.

When Rinko was carried around like a small package and forced to patrol the entire battlefield, he would think about how he was regarded in the eyes of Kokushibo.

A puppy?

"Is there anything you...want to eat?"

Once this question is asked, it becomes even more like that.

Rinkou, who was lifted to a high place and forced to look Kokushibo in the eye, finally shook his head. He clearly caught the flash of disgust in the eyes of the two adult men.

Regarding his 'picky eating'.

But Lin Guang didn't think it was his problem. First of all, his stomach didn't feel hungry, and secondly, his nose was not interested in these smells. Thirdly, this body had its own ideas, and these ideas were not consistent with those of the two of them.

This is different from his picky eating caused by his subjective pickiness.

But in the eyes of these two people, this explanation is just an excuse.

Even when he really sat down to eat something, Lin Guang would put the food stuffed into his hands into his mouth without hesitation, chew it up and swallow it.

"It seems that I have been too indulgent towards you."

Muzan reached out and took Rinko from Kokushibo's hand.

"Rinkou. You're completely...spoiled."

This pause was longer than usual. Kokushibo searched the vocabulary in his head before finding the most appropriate word to describe it.

Rinkou, who had done nothing but seemed to be being criticized, raised his head.

"Have it?"

No one responded to him.

But silence is sometimes a silent statement. Just like now, they mean it.

Have.

.

But if someone really needs to be held responsible for being 'spoiled', it's because of Muzan's indulgence and support.

Rinko raised his head and looked at Muzan, who had always supported his actions and encouraged him to try some things. But this time, the instigator said nothing, cleared himself of the blame, and greeted Rinko's gaze with a smile.

Even though all this was thanks to Wuzan.

------

After Kuniyoshi's death, a huge mountain in Muzan's heart was finally removed. The feeling of being strangled by someone and blocked at the gates of hell finally disappeared after confirming that the man was dead. Muzan was in a good mood during that period of time. He took Kokushibo and went in and out of the Ghost Swordsman's house seven times, and also dealt with all the people related to the so-called Sun Breathing.

He seemed to be in a better mood after that.

It was from that time that Muzan began to focus his attention on Rinko. Rinko's personality can be described as gentle in a positive way, but it can also be described as timid and introverted.

This is not a problem, but Muzan seems to prefer to train him to be more extroverted, or at least learn to speak more, rather than becoming a mute in front of outsiders.

Lin Guang's personality and style are traceable. His own fragility and the misfortunes he encountered during his human period led him to prefer not to provoke anyone and hope not to be noticed by anyone. It also led to his negative emotions and not having expectations for most things. Without expectations, there will be no disappointment. If you are prepared to face death at any time, you will not be afraid of the arrival of death.

It's not impossible to change these things, but the methods vary. A more direct and drastic approach would be to make Rinkou eat more meat to become stronger, training him to be less vulnerable. A more subtle and gentle approach would be to subtly cultivate Rinkou's personality without changing the status quo. The latter approach would obviously be more time-consuming and troublesome.

Rinko's lack of combat prowess was a common understanding among those who knew him, but Kokushibo offered Muzan a different explanation. He said Rinko's talent wasn't in combat, and rather than engaging in direct confrontation with the enemy's damage output, he'd be better off considering using him for infiltration, probing, and gathering clues, or providing support and containment during battle. However, his most suitable role would likely be post-battle retreat. If Rinko's abilities could be applied to other demons, his presence would have a far greater impact than previously thought.

Muzan had personally experienced that if Rinko hid himself, it would be difficult to find him.

"Lin Kou. Like a flame... it's because it's not strong enough... that it's ignored."

This is Kokushibo's point of view.

Muzan didn't want to lose a rare case, nor did he want Rinko to lose his own characteristics, so he chose the latter method.

Muzan has always been very sensitive to other people's emotional changes, let alone the heart of a child who is completely transparent in front of him. He witnessed everything Rinkou saw and thought, including a little hint, some inadvertent reminders, some indulgences, and some privileges.

As Kokushibo said, Rinko is just a child, and even his brain is not working very well.

So, it's not difficult to change. All it takes is a long period of training. And as ghosts, the thing they have the most is time.

Rinko was aware of Muzan's indulgence, but this was not a bad thing. It was a happy thing that some small, unintentional requests were allowed, and it was also a happy thing that Muzan was willing to indulge him more. So even though he knew that it was a paved road, Rinko still stepped on it without hesitation. By the time he realized that everything had changed, some habits had become natural.

-

After this series of deliberate training, Rinkou's personality changed. For example, he became much more lively than before. He even dared to argue with Muzan occasionally. If he found himself at a disadvantage or Muzan looked unhappy, he would immediately run behind Kokushibo for protection. And if he felt that Kokushibo was displeased, he would hide behind Muzan and then mutter quietly.

"I think I made him angry..."

Although his age is increasing, his personality has not grown because the environment has not changed. Instead, he has become more and more like a child, a normal child.

Muzan touched Rinko's short hair and pondered in his heart.

But this is not a bad thing. Raising a more active child like this is indeed more interesting than the previous little mute.
