HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 193 Courtship, Sponsorship

"So how do I bribe this damn white owl to make it come down?"

Ron followed Hermione to the Owl Shed. After he and Hermione and Harry had been using food to lure Nellie's white owl, Caine, for most of the day, and the owl was just pecking its feathers leisurely on the beam, Ron let out the most devastating scream of his life.

They tried the chicken strips they brought, but it didn't work. They then tried the beef strips, but that didn't work either. The owl was like a blind man and didn't even look at them.

What on earth is it going to eat?!

Amid Ron's collapse, Harry silently put down the hand holding the beef strips.

His arms were sore from lifting them.

Then he changed his hand to hold the beef strips and raised his other hand firmly.

"I didn't expect it to be so picky about food."

Under the gaze of the owls crying with envy around her, Hermione also lowered her arms that were swinging the jerky and said dejectedly.

Who knew this white owl was such a picky eater?

"I heard Lillian complain that his white owl has become very picky about his appetite because of what he has been fed by Senior Ende. Ordinary meat strips and jerky are simply not enough to satisfy him."

"Senior Diggory should be feeding it recently, and he's been feeding it more carefully."

"Then why did you ask us to come find it? Don't you know that this thing won't come down at all?" Ron said, angrily throwing the piece of meat in his hand into the pile of owls, startling a group of owls to run over and peck at it.

"I initially thought they would come down if I called their names," Hermione explained.

"You come over when I call your name," Ron chuckled.

Hermione rolled her eyes at him and was too lazy to argue with him. She looked carefully at the white owl Kane on the beam and felt very troubled.

Does this owl only care about people who feed it?

Hermione looked at Kane discouragedly. When she was about to give up, she found that it seemed to be looking at something, always looking in one direction. She followed its line of sight and saw another white owl.

She paused. "Was that your owl then, Harry?" She pointed to the white owl.

"What?" Harry looked in the direction she pointed, then nodded. "Yes, that's Hedwig."

Hermione's eyes lit up, "Try to get Hedwig down."

Harry didn't understand what she meant, but he called out, "Hedwig."

Hedwig, the gray-and-white owl, hooted and floated down from the rafters, landing on Harry's shoulder.

At the same time, Kane, another white owl they had been looking up at, also floated down from the beam and stood not far away, looking at them. He held his head high and chest out, and cried out in a majestic manner:

"Coo-coo! Coo-coo! Coo-coo!"

"Sure enough," Hermione said speechlessly, "Kane actually likes Hedwig."

Her words made Harry look at her.

Hermione knew what he was thinking, "Sorry, Hedwig and Cain probably won't be your cupids."

"If Lillian knew Kane had taken a fancy to your owl, she would definitely have Kane sterilized."

This earned her a horrified look from both Harry and Ron. "Sterilized?"

Hermione nodded. "The last time I spoke to Lillian about getting a cat, she kept stressing to me that I had to get it neutered."

"Owls can be sterilized?" Harry was amazed.

"Yes," said Ron, "the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures has a spell to sterilize animals."

Harry looked at Kane with a hint of sympathy.

Although it is well cared for, it is at risk of being neutered.

Especially since it is still engaging in dangerous behavior such as courtship.

"All right, Harry," said Hermione, "use Hedwig to seduce Cain."

Harry picked up Hedwig and put her on the ground. Kane jumped a few times to Harry and started jumping left and right towards him. Harry felt very pressured.

"It's jealous," Hermione said in amazement. "It's challenging you as a male bird."

"Hurry up," Harry couldn't stand it anymore.

Hermione took the opportunity to get closer to Kane and handed the letter to him, "Please give it to Senior Ender, Kersten Ender!"

Kane hesitated, looked at Hedwig, then looked at the letter, but didn't answer it.

"As long as you help us deliver the letter, we will let Hedwig go on a date with you," Hermione said.

"Are you sure you're not going to get it sterilized?" Ron complained.

Kane seemed to understand Hermione's words. He picked up the letter from her hand, looked at Hedwig with nostalgia, and flew away.

Harry hesitated, "Will your agreement to this have any impact on them?"

"It's not a big problem," Hermione said. "After all, I'm talking about a date. Whether it will really work out depends on Hedwig."

"Besides, we have Lillian. Even if Kane and Hedwig really get together, she will sterilize Kane. Don't worry."

Ron and Harry looked at each other and reached a consensus at this moment -

Don't mess with Hermione.

"This is my private collection of red wine. Please enjoy it today."

In the private dining room, Ludo Bagman, Director of the Ministry of Magic's Sports Bureau, took the decanted red wine, poured it into a goblet, and handed it to the Irish team coach present.

"That's very generous of you, Mr. Bagman," the Irish coach said, accepting the glass of wine. "It's an honor to drink your wine."

"You have to thank this young man on your team for this," Ludo Bagman poured another glass of red wine and handed it to Keston. Seeing the other party take it, he smiled with satisfaction. "The Ministry of Magic is having a headache over the expenses of hosting this Quidditch World Cup, and he has provided a satisfactory plan."

"You have good taste," he picked up his glass, "cheers to you." He drank the glass of red wine.

The Irish coach also quickly drank his cup.

After drinking the glass of wine, he sighed and couldn't help but look at his assistant teacher beside him.

The handsome black-haired young man was eating calmly, showing no emotion at all in response to the praise from the Director of the Ministry of Magic's Sports Bureau.

He really is worthy of it.

The Irish coach sighed inwardly.

He really didn't expect that he would be able to sit with the Director of the Department of Magical Sports and Games.

It actually started out as a small matter where his assistant coach got sponsorship for his team's jerseys.

He was not opposed to this matter. After all, the money for the team's rocket crossbow and the monopoly book came from that way. They agreed to wear the new sneakers released by a shoe store.

But this teaching assistant actually managed to secure sponsorship for the Ministry of Magic's Sports Department, and got Ludo Bagman to invite him to dinner.

You have to know that the Quidditch World Cup is held in China, and the Ministry of Magic's Sports Department is hosting this event. If you can have a close relationship with the Director of the Sports Department, you will get preferential treatment in arranging accommodation and changing rooms.

Or you can give them some slack when arranging the battle.

The Irish coach has always been worried about England's advantage in this area, but now he has such treatment, thanks to his assistant coach.

It was really a lucky spell cast by Merlin that he invited him to be an assistant teacher!

When Ludo Bagman put down his glass, the Irish coach exchanged a knowing look with him and began to chat while drinking.

coo.

While the two were chatting animatedly, a white owl landed outside the restaurant window.

"Excuse me," Kersten said, standing up. "It's urgent."

He pointed to the white owl outside the window, which was peeking inside with an impatient look.

"Go ahead, Kersten," Ludo said enthusiastically, patting him on the shoulder.

Kersten stood up and left.

"Who do you think was that white owl that came to see Assistant Professor Ende and delivered a message to him?"

Connolly, the Irish batsman who came with them but was arranged to sit at another table, saw his assistant coach, who was sitting at another table with the Director of Sports of the Ministry of Magic, get up and leave with a rare hint of urgency as he walked. He quickly poked his team captain Aidan Lynch, who was still gnawing on the roast suckling pig, and asked.

Aidan wiped his mouth.

Due to Kxton's strict diet control, the whole team had to eat boiled meat and boiled vegetables every day, which made them feel like they had no future. Today was finally an indulgent meal, but the players who came to eat ate like wild boars.

"Do you need to guess?" Before Aidan could answer, his batting partner Quigley answered, "It must be the assistant coach's girlfriend." He still had the beef Wellington he had just stuffed into his mouth, but his face was full of certainty.

"Why?" Connolly asked curiously.

"Because every time that white owl comes, no matter how important it is, he throws it down to get the mail," said the team's goalkeeper, Barry Ryan, holding a roasted lamb chop. "I've never seen him so anxious when other owls come."

"Besides, our assistant coach is so handsome, you can tell he has a girlfriend," Chaser Moran said with a lewd smile. "And she must have some special tricks up her sleeve to make Assistant Coach Ende so obsessed with her that she's always eager to answer every letter she sends."

"You know, that's Assistant Instructor Ende!"

This sentence resonated with all the players.

You have to know that he is strict and self-disciplined. Apart from watching them train every day, he is either studying or exercising. His hobby is to become stronger. The little time he has left can be used to get sponsorship for them. He is an awesome assistant who even brought the sponsorship to the director of the Sports Bureau!

"That reminds me," said Troy, another Chaser on the team. "Doesn't the assistant coach have a wallet he never leaves?"

"Yeah," Connolly nodded quickly. He had seen it many times.

Troy said, "And the last time I saw the assistant coach get the letter, he put it in that wallet."

Connolly's eyes widened. "So his wallet isn't for money, but for letters from his girlfriend?"

Moran tutted his lips a few times, his smile particularly meaningful, while Quigley sighed, "This is too infatuated."

"I didn't expect the teaching assistant to be this kind of person."

"Before that, the captain wanted to introduce his sister to Assistant Coach Ende," Connolly said with an expression that said, "Isn't that stupid?"

"Don't I know about this?" Aidan said helplessly after his own players exposed his secret.

"You're actually willing to do that?" Quigley's eyes widened. When he first met the captain's sister, the captain was wary of them like thieves.

He actually wanted to introduce his sister to Assistant Professor Ende.

"Definitely not," Moran shook his head. "Your sister is too well behaved. She's nowhere near as cunning as Assistant Coach Ende's current girlfriend."

At first, she sent letters to Assistant Professor Ende every few days, and now the frequency of the letters has become longer. It is obvious that she is very good at hooking men.

The substitute Chaser, Mallett, said nothing, but looked at Aidan meaningfully.

Aidan looked at the roast suckling pig on the plate and didn't respond.
