HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 12 It's an honor to be your friend

The next class was History of Magic, taught by a ghost named Binns Cuthbert.

His teaching style can be said to have inherited the virtues of the Middle Ages. It is very old-fashioned, with long sentences that make people want to doze off. It is comparable to those professors in universities who can only read PPTs.

So after ten minutes of class, he seemed to have cast a sleeping spell on all the little wizards in the classroom, knocking them all down.

Nalilian was also distracted, but she still listened to the end and took notes. She thought Hermione might need these notes.

After class, Nariel hurried out the door and wanted to find Hermione, but was pulled into a corner by Cedric.

"Kerston went to see your friend, Lillian," Cedric said.

Seeing her anxious expression, he still spoke gently, "Let's wait here for a while."

Hearing that Kerston had gone to look for it, Nalilian nodded patiently, but she couldn't help looking around.

Soon Kerston came back with an embarrassed look on his face, looking at Nalilian with something to say but stopping himself.

But meeting Nalilian's expectant eyes, he still said, "In the women's room, your friend seems to be crying."

Crying? Nalilian was startled and said quickly, "Take me there, Kersten."

Kersten took her to the women's restroom, and outside they heard crying.

The two older boys waited outside the door, waiting for her to go in and comfort her friend.

The bathroom is also a separate single room.

Nalilian stood outside the door of the private room where the crying sound came from and said in a gentle voice, "Hermione, can we go back to class?"

The crying stopped abruptly and the environment became quiet. Hermione did not answer her.

"Hermione?" Narilla called out again tentatively.

Her voice echoed in the bathroom, but Hermione still didn't answer.

what happened?

Narilean began to feel uneasy, and then Hermione's hoarse voice sounded, "I don't need your comfort, get out."

"Hermione..." Narilean called her softly, but did not go out.

What people need most when they are hurt and crying is the company of friends, and she understands this best.

"Don't stay here and don't try to comfort me!" Hermione was annoyed by her stubbornness and cried, "Because you don't understand my situation at all!"

After saying this, she continued with a broken jar, "Everyone likes you. There are always people around you, your brother, your brother's friends."

"You can talk to anyone, too. Parvati and Ravindrag me, just because they want to play with you!"

"But I, they don't like being with me. Maybe it's really because I'm annoying..."

"Most importantly, you obviously don't need me as a friend, do you?"

"Hermione," Narilian was startled, bitterness spreading in her heart.

She is the same as she always was.

When she was young, she was not liked by others because she was too eager to study and because of her mixed-race identity.

But at that time, she did not understand the meaning of social interaction and only lived in the pursuit of good grades and praise from her parents.

It was not until she entered a high school in another city and lived in a dormitory that she realized her overly positive attitude was not popular and she had no friends.

None of her roommates like her and she always keeps to herself.

This situation continued until she went abroad to study and changed her way of making friends.

But she always carries an indelible scar in her heart and lives in a hypocritical social circle. The closer her friends get to her, the more uncomfortable she feels.

She never thought that one day she would bring this scar to someone else.

In fact, at the end of the day, she was just a friend with ill intentions who approached her with a mission.

If she was with Hermione all the time, she wouldn't feel so insecure.

"I'm sorry," Narilean said with a sour heart, "Hermione, I'm sorry."

Her motives were not pure and she hurt the girl.

"During this period, I really haven't done what a friend should do."

Hermione had been clinging to her, relying on her, but she had taken it lightly.

"But I'm truly honored to be your friend."

She is really nice. She will help her review her homework, help her answer questions, and stand up for her when she is bullied.

There is no better girl than her.

After saying this, Nalilian waited for a while.

But she still didn't wait for Hermione to come out, instead she heard her soft sobs.

She looked up and sighed, fighting back the heat in her eyes.

"Then I'll go," Nalilian said hoarsely, "I'll always be waiting for you."

"I never thought of leaving you. I always thought we would be good friends for life."

Nalilian walked out of the ladies' room and left with Kersten and Cedric.

The two older boys didn't ask any questions. They were not interested in making the girl cry.

Or maybe they have faced such a situation before and know it is better to leave her a quiet space.

The afternoon class was Defense Against the Dark Arts, taught by Professor Quirrell.

He was a weird professor who wore a purple turban and smelled of garlic. His teaching style was comparable to that of the slow Professor Binns, so no one liked his classes.

In this class, Narilla didn't see Hermione either. Fortunately, Professor Quirrell's teaching method was relaxed and he didn't call on students by name.

Seeing that she was alone, Parvati and Ravindra sat with them and quietly asked where Hermione had gone.

They preferred gossiping in this kind of class to listening to Professor Quirrell's boring lectures.

Narelle told them how Ron had made Hermione cry.

After all, they were her and Hermione's roommates. Letting them know more about Hermione's situation would help her integrate into their group.

Especially since Ron was wrong about this.

Just as she thought, after learning that it was Ron who had said bad things about Hermione, causing Hermione to hide in the ladies' room and cry, Parvati and Lavender scolded Ron together.

"It's okay that Weasley quarreled with Hermione in class, but how could he say that about Hermione?" Parvati said with disgust. Such a boy is really tasteless.

Lavender sighed, "Weasley yelled so loudly in class, everyone thought he would go and apologize to Hermione, but he actually said bad things about Hermione behind her back."

Ron is also a relatively eye-catching figure among the girls.

Although he didn't have the same impressive reputation as Harry's "The Man Who Lived", he was still a Weasley after all.

Not only is he a pure-blood, but his brothers are also very outstanding in the academy, including Percy Weasley, the senior prefect, and the twin Weasleys on the Quidditch team.

This makes his status in Gryffindor not low.

Lavender had shown a fondness for him during their conversation before, but now she seemed disappointed in him.

But if she hadn't become close friends with Narellean and Hermione, she would definitely have thought Hermione deserved it.

Nalilian glanced at the red-haired boy who was lying on the table in the seat in front of her, covering his face with a book and trying to sleep, and sighed inwardly.

What did Ron think?

He would give Hermione that look...
