HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 109 Let her live better and more freely

Nallylian thought Kersten was going to discuss with her whether or not to go to Hogwarts.

But Kersten simply took her back to his room.

"That baby bird," Kersten said, "is always chirping."

He was talking about the baby robin he had rescued earlier.

"Is it okay? Are you ready to send it back?" asked Narilean.

"I'm going to send it back tomorrow and you can go take a look at it," Kerston said.

When she entered Kerston's room, Nalilian saw Kerston using a scarf to make a nest for the baby bird on the desk. She went over and saw the little guy sleeping with his head hanging down and the feathers on his back fluffy and standing up.

It looks quite cozy.

There is just one thing, the bird's nest is surrounded by white bird droppings.

I guess you can forget about having this scarf from Kerston.

While Nalilian was watching the baby bird, Kersten turned on the computer. "Want to try it?"

Nalilian looked at the computer and was stunned when she saw the mosaic-like game screen.

He actually got the game.

Nalilian couldn't help but sit over. It was an old adventure game. Kerston taught her how to press the keys on the keyboard to control the character's movement.

She learned it easily and played the game smoothly.

Seeing that she knew how to play, Kerston let go of the keyboard, looked at her, reached out and hooked down the hair stuck to her skirt behind her, and his expression softened.

Does she know that she is trying to please the Enders by being a well-behaved and mediocre girl?

He clearly has a talent for painting, but he keeps it to himself. He is clearly attracted to the career, but he won't go into it in depth.

It's just because Mr. Ende wants her to be a good and obedient daughter.

Become someone like Mrs. Ende in the future.

He once thought that he hoped Lillian would be such a good and obedient sister.

But this will only push her further away.

Because deep down she didn't want to be that kind of person.

She was just hiding her inner feelings and using her broken self to fulfill the person she loved.

He would not sit idly by and watch her drown herself in that way.

He didn't do the work for his father's company to see his father push Lillian into the position he thought she was in, to mold her into the shape he wanted.

But to make her live a better and freer life.

It's not that he can't do it, but he wants to know her choice.

She loves her mom and dad very much.

If she didn't want to, then what he did was just his own will.

but now……

She chose him.

The next morning, Nallylian and Kerston went to return the young robins to their nest.

As Kirsten climbed the tree, the adult robin in the nest flew away.

But when Kerston took the baby robin out of his arms, the adult bird flew back and stood not far from the branch, staring at Kerston's hands holding the baby bird with its small eyes.

It looked like it would pounce and peck him at any moment.

Kerston put the baby bird into the nest.

Nalilian looked at the reunion of the adult birds and the young birds, then looked at Kerston, afraid that he would fall.

After he came down safely, she hurried over to brush off the leaves on his body.

If the etiquette teacher saw this, who knows what he would say to him.

Kerston watched her clean the leaves off her body, and when she was done, he took her hand and led her away.

"It's very strange, though," Nalilian said as she and Kersten returned.

"Is there only one baby bird in that nest?"

There are probably five or six robins in a nest, but why did I only see one adult bird and one chick in that nest?

Kerston paused and explained, "Maybe we were attacked."

“That’s pathetic,” Nalilian said.

The furry little guy I saw last night actually encountered such a situation.

Kersten looked down at the top of her head and didn't say anything else.

He actually saw a dead baby bird lying in the nest.

Mrs. Ender never mentioned letting them leave Hogwarts again.

Because they were about to go to the nobleman's manor to attend a banquet.

If they had seen a real noble, they would probably change their minds.

A few days later, Nalilian and Mrs. Ende passed the etiquette teacher's assessment, and Mr. Ende asked them to pack their luggage and set off.

The car drove all the way to the north of England, passing through vast villages and large fields, and stopped at a rest house for guests. Their driver was taken over by someone sent by the owner of the manor, who received them in a carriage and officially entered the manor.

Then they realized that the villages they had just passed by all belonged to this nobleman.

And the estate they were about to go to was called Finch-Fletchley Estate.

Hearing this familiar surname, Nalilian was startled.

Finch-Fletchley? Justin's last name was Finch-Fletchley.

He also said he lived in North Yorkshire.

Is it...

Nalilian was suspicious as the coachman drove the carriage and took them into a neatly trimmed lawn.

This lawn was dozens of times wider than the lawn in their manor. At a glance, all they could see was the building far away, nestled between the edge of the lawn and the woods.

It was not until the carriage arrived at the door that Nalilian saw clearly that it was a palace whose top she could not even see if she looked up.

"Welcome everyone, Mr. Ende."

They were received by the manor's steward, a silver-haired old man.

Seeing the familiar old man, Nalilian was sure that this was Finch-Fletchley's home.

Because he was the housekeeper Justin mentioned last time.

She looked at Kerston.

So he is so repulsive to Justin because he knows?

Nallylian wanted to ask Kersten, but she couldn't because she would have to separate from him afterwards.

The guest rooms for the men and women were in different attics in the palace. Nalilian and Mrs. Ender were led to one of the attics by the maid, while Kerston followed Mr. Ender and was led to another attic by the butler.

But Na Lilian didn't expect that they would be taken to a remote, dark, corner room on the top floor.

Although this is a guest room, there are no windows and only two beds. The small room is dull and gloomy.

"Is this the room we're staying in?" Mrs. Ender asked the maid who brought them in in surprise.

"Yes, ma'am," the maid replied, "you arrived a little late, and this is the only guest room available."

She was lying, Nalilian looked at the maid with her head down. When she came into the attic, she saw that there was an empty room on the second floor of the attic.

But she couldn't blame the maid.

Because the one who controls this manor is never the maid, but the person behind the maid.

That nobleman, he wanted them to live here.

why?

Mrs. Ende also realized this and asked the maid to leave.

Nalilian frowned, "Mom, let's go find Dad."

Tell him that this is how they are treated here.

Mrs. Ender shook her head at her, "No, Lillian, we can't cause trouble for Dad."

"It will be fine after a little cleaning, trust Mom," she started to clean up.

As requested in the invitation, they did not bring any servants, so after calling the maid away, they had to clean up the mess themselves.

No, it was Mrs. Ender who wanted to clean up after herself.

They could ask the maid in the manor to clean up, but she was afraid of being rejected by the maid.

Nalilian looked at her busy figure and frowned even deeper.

Does she have to put herself in such a difficult position?

but……

She sighed, lifted her skirt, and picked up the rag on the table, "Mom, let me help you."
