Time Travel: The Queen's Coronation
Chapter 4: First Light
After the arts/science division, I was in the same classes and had the same teachers, so I adjusted quickly. However, many of my classmates were very strange. They seemed familiar to me, even though we hadn't interacted much before. I could only say it was just their perception. The real answer, of course, was that I had experienced it once before, and now I had a bird's-eye view, so I knew everyone clearly and what was going to happen next.
I'm still diligently working through the exercises and studying the key points. The monthly exam after the arts and science division is just a week away, so I need to hurry up and study to get a good rank. My math scores have been consistently around 100 in these weekly tests. By diligently working on the basics, my math foundation has improved significantly, reaching over 95% accuracy on basic questions. Even with the basics, I can score decent marks on moderately difficult questions. If I keep this up, I'll be able to get closer to my goal.
My improvement in math gave me a lot of confidence. My enthusiasm and confidence in learning were positively impacted, so my physics and chemistry scores are also improving. Chinese is my strong point, so I don't have to worry too much. I can pass English with a lot of practice and grammar. I walked into the exam room full of confidence.
After the monthly exam, the teacher handed out the answers for comparison. I got all the Chinese multiple-choice questions right, and I also got the general meaning of the classical Chinese translation and other text questions right. My estimated score is about 125. I also got all the math multiple-choice questions right. I didn't know the answer to the last two multiple-choice questions, but I guessed them right. I got two fill-in-the-blank questions wrong, so I only got 10 points. I estimate that I will get about 110 points in math, about 120 points in English, and about 150 points in comprehensive science, for a total score of 505 points.
While I'm still some distance from my goal of 600+, I'm taking it one step at a time. You can't get rich overnight. I carefully researched the reasons for my mistakes. I didn't make many careless mistakes this time. The biggest reason was my low scores on the medium-level questions. I need to improve my scores on the medium-level questions. There's still a lot of room for improvement. Keep up the good work! I listened attentively in class and took meticulous notes. I marked questions I didn't understand and researched them after class. If I couldn't figure it out, I would ask the teacher or classmates for help. I used to be introverted and didn't dare to speak up, but now I'm determined to ask for help. I'm fighting for a good university and a bright future!
The first monthly exam results are in, and my total score is 527. Each subject's score is more or less above my estimated score. I'm ranked 362nd in the grade, among more than science students, placing me in the middle of the pack. These results undoubtedly gave me immense confidence. I'm incredibly motivated, and every day I see wonderful people and things. Good grades make me feel good, and good moods make me work harder, creating a closed loop of positive feedback.
I scored 519 on the second monthly exam, but the competition was a bit tougher this time, so I improved my ranking to 295th. I scored 545 on the third, ranking 253rd. That put me in the top 523, something I'd never achieved before, and I was thrilled. The fourth monthly exam was even harder, but I scored 184 and ranked th, putting me in the top . While I'm thrilled, I can't get carried away. The citywide final exam is just two weeks away, a major test that will truly test my hard work. So, I need to be more restrained and not pop the champagne popping mid-sentence!
After a semester of hard work, my grades in all subjects are relatively stable. My foundation is solid, and I've been working on the basics and then the intermediate questions. My accuracy on the intermediate questions is now around 65%, but my accuracy on the difficult questions is only a little over 20%. On the 12-point final question, I can usually get one or two points, and with a bit of luck, five or six. So, I'm going to give it my all for this final exam, and I'm not going to back down if I can get even one more point. I'm also praying that I get all the answers right and that I guess all the answers correctly!
Although we can take a break after the exam, the results will not be announced until the next semester starts. Based on the answers given by the teacher, I estimated my score to be around 560. The final exam is mainly based on basic knowledge. After all, the ratio of medium basic knowledge to difficult questions in the college entrance examination is 7:2:1.
Throughout the summer, I worked as hard as ever. During the busy farming season, I worked during the day, harvesting corn and planting rice, and then returned home at night to study late into the night. Southern summers are hot, and the daytime labor under the scorching sun leaves me exhausted. But at night, I still threw myself into my studies with renewed energy. This time, this opportunity was mine again, and I was going to seize it!
