Chapter 13 Exercise
Forest trolls are a dark olive green in color. They adorn their bodies with ritual scars and piercings, preferring white or black warmarks that symbolize their power and glory.
These trolls are typically seven feet tall, with an imposing build and mottled dark green skin covered in moss. They have large yellow teeth beneath their massive, hooked noses.
Wu Yue and his team did not encounter the trolls until a month later. Many trolls had come to their camp before. Fortunately, because the area of Sinterland was not as small as in the game, they had not discovered the camp here for the time being.
Some of the trolls who came to investigate earlier were killed without even knowing who did it, and the bandits in Shadowmeld even pretended to be ghosts to scare them.
Unfortunately, none of them worked. In the game setting, the forest trolls would do certain things that only primitive tribes would do, which are now almost gone. In reality, they still retain this habit. Wu Yue's bandits have found dwarf skulls in the forest.
There were still troll tooth marks on it. Wu Yue hadn't disliked trolls before, but now, at least he didn't want such creatures around him (to prevent discord, this won't be explained here, just understand).
Wu Yue brought most of the troops out, leaving only Bettina and the farmer in the mercenary camp. They did not go directly over. Evans led the bandits into the shadows just like he did to Wu Yue.
To this day, Wu Yue still doesn't know where the shadow is. Whenever he comes here, Wu Yue's senses lose their function and he can only detect the faint oppression through touch.
Time passed quickly, and they appeared among the shadows of the mountain forest. Looking forward, they could overlook a huge village surrounded by layers of yellow walls, Yagowasa.
Many green figures could be seen wandering around the village. Wu Yue couldn't see the entire village, but the part he could see was filled with green.
Wu Yue had no choice but to ask Evans about the number of trolls in the village.
"There are more than 6 trolls in total"
His eyes were open, but Wu Yue knew that his attention was not here. He was using the shadows to sense the village. Evans continued to add
"Among them, there should be 400 children, 500 elite warriors, some users of shadow magic, some trolls with a special spider aura, and a small number of trolls shaped by blood magic. Almost all the rest are also capable of fighting to a certain extent."
Wu Yue nodded. Trolls, like orcs, were a race where almost all of their members were soldiers. Not to mention women, even children could not be said to be completely without combat capability.
This is a 56:5600 battle.
Wu Yue continued to ask questions
“How much do you think you can handle?”
"All trolls."
Evans seemed unfazed.
"Um!"
Wu Yue had been surprised by Evans again and again, and he thought he was used to it, but he was still scared this time.
"are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
Evans remained calm, as if fighting against thousands of people alone was just a small matter. Wu Yue looked at the bandits behind him and said helplessly: "Let's have a drill. I also want to see the fighting strength of the others behind me."
..................................................................
In Yagwatha, some of the forest trolls of the Evilbranch Tribe are taking care of Shadra's eggs. There are actually quite a few ordinary forest troll residents here. Some guards are distributed around the wall, and the central position is reserved for priests, witch doctors, shadow mages, and some strong trolls.
But at this moment, the shadow rushed towards them like a wave. It was so fast that it covered them in an instant. No troll knew whether the shadow came from the earth or from the sky.
However, Wu Yue could see more clearly between the mountains. The shadow did not appear from the earth or the sky. It swallowed up the light in a space at an extremely fast speed, leaving only darkness. But around this space, the sun was still shining brightly.
The forest trolls now felt their physical strength draining away at an extremely fast rate, making them extremely weak, until a certain point it stopped.
The shadow mages were surprised to find that they could no longer use their shadow magic, as if the shadow energy had become conscious and was instinctively rejecting them.
Least affected were the Loa priests of Shadra, who were still able to communicate with their deity and receive assistance from it.
At that moment, Wu Yue's bandits appeared, attacking the village gate from the cover of the trees. The trolls only just realized their enemy. The bandits were few in number, but the connection between the shadow that enveloped the world and the sudden appearance of the enemy was clear. Every troll soldier wore a grim expression.
But the trolls were not without the ability to fight at this time. Although their strength was suppressed by Evans to be only on par with that of an ordinary human, at this time, they still had a number of 1:100.
In reality, Evans's assessment of the bandits' strength was quite conservative. An average bandit should have been able to overpower a fully-armed human soldier, and their power was comparable to that of an orc soldier. At least when the battle unfolded at the trolls' gates, the trolls were essentially powerless to resist.
The spear throwers took out spears from their spear bags and started throwing spears when they were still a hundred meters away from the trolls. The spears then accurately pierced through the chests of the trolls one by one, and not a single one missed. The trolls were now closer and were about to start their signature tricks, throwing their axes, but they forgot that they did not have the strength to throw so far, and the axes only landed not far from the bandits defending in front of the spear throwers.
The spear thrower now began a new round of throwing.
After 12 rounds of throwing, the spear thrower's spear bag was empty, but new spears would appear in it after a while. The road along which the trolls rushed here was full of troll corpses with spears stuck in them.
At this time, the javelin throwers' arms were a little tired, but they still took out the daggers on their waists. The bandits in front had already killed many troll soldiers who rushed to the front of the formation. Many of their chests had a big gash, which was the mark left by the bandits' axes.
Logically speaking, such injuries are not fatal to the trolls, but their recovery and regeneration abilities seem to have been weakened a lot by Evans.
There were many axe marks on the bandits' round shields. Many axes were stuck on them after being thrown by the trolls. Fortunately, or perhaps under the protection of a shadow master, they suffered almost no casualties and still retained great combat effectiveness.
At this time, the troll soldiers inside the wall had gathered and were walking out. The bandits had no spears left. With four bandits each protecting a wizard apprentice, the two bandit leaders led the remaining spearmen and bandits to charge.
