Integrate into the fairy world

Chapter 488 Arrival at the Athletes' Village

Upon entering his room, Razer immediately and quite unceremoniously sprawled out on the soft bed, rolling around in and out of bed.

Looking back on that difficult month, Lei Ze could say he experienced both pain and joy.

With a quick leap, Lei Ze walked to the window and opened the curtains. Through the window, he could see that many contestants from other places had already arrived at the athletes' village!

"I really want to go outside the athletes' village and see the world!"

Razer cried out his longing for freedom!

But his shout only elicited a disgruntled cry from Pikachu; nothing else happened.

"Old Zhu is really something! I already promised him I'd come to the competition, but he still doesn't trust me. He even lives right next door to me! Pikachu, don't you think Old Zhu is being a bit too neurotic!"

Pikachu ignored him. You should know that he had been pushed out by Razer to receive special training from Zhu Ziqi for the past month!

Now that he can finally get some sleep in his soft bed, he has no interest in arguing with his trainer.

Seeing that Pikachu was unwilling to talk to him, Razer didn't want to make a fool of himself.

After leaving the bedroom, Lei Ze wandered aimlessly around the living room.

"The bedrooms arranged for the athletes in this athletes' village don't even have TVs. It's so boring!"

Lei Ze sat blankly on the sofa, with nothing beside him except a booklet that Zhu Ziqi had given him earlier.

Looking at the booklet in his hand, Lei Ze's face was full of disgust. "It's all outdated information. I don't know what Old Zhu wants me to do with this. Ah, I should have brought a game console!"

With another sigh, resigned to his fate, Razer could only find solace in this little booklet.

After flipping through the pages several times, Lei Ze gradually felt a wave of drowsiness wash over him.

Lei Ze drifted off to sleep, unaware of how much time had passed, until a knock on the door startled him awake.

After getting up and opening the door, Lei Ze was surprised to find Zhu Ziqi standing outside.

"Old Zhu, what brings you here?"

Zhu Ziqi held a file folder in his hand, his expression serious: "Lei Ze, I just received a notification that the rules for this individual competition have changed."

Upon hearing this, Lei Ze's last trace of drowsiness vanished instantly. He understood that for Old Zhu to be so anxious, the changes must be substantial.

Having figured this out, Lei Ze quickly invited Zhu Ziqi into the house. After Zhu Ziqi sat down, he took out a document from his file bag and handed it to Lei Ze. "Due to the urgency, I need to go see the other team members, so I'll keep it brief. This time, the preliminary round, which is also the knockout round, will not be a one-on-one match, but a points system!"

Lei Ze examined the new data in his hand closely and discovered that the points system had two peak values.

One is the lowest score, and the other is the highest score!

Each player starts with 20 points. After one-on-one battles, the judges will add or subtract points based on the performance of the two players.

Those who score below 10 will be eliminated, while those who score above 50 will advance to the next round.

"Given the limited number of spots available for advancement, every contestant must give it their all to avoid elimination or even to advance ahead of schedule."

"This competition will be tough!"

To be honest, Zhu Ziqi was terrified when he heard the news.

He originally thought that everyone would hold back a bit in the preliminary rounds in order to hide their true strength.

However, with this new competition rule, if someone seizes on a weakness and launches a fierce attack, the referee might deduct a large number of points, and the player would be eliminated without even playing the second round.

Zhu Ziqi originally thought that Lei Ze would be somewhat nervous after hearing the news.

But when he looked up at Razer, he found that the kid wasn't nervous at all.

"You're not nervous at all!"

"What's there to be nervous about? These guys are giving it their all. How can the Pokémon's strength possibly improve by leaps and bounds? Besides, I don't think I'm any less capable when it comes to command."

Seeing Lei Ze's confidence, Zhu Ziqi felt much more at ease. However, he still cautioned him, "Don't be arrogant; it's always good to be cautious!"

Afterwards, Zhu Ziqi had to deliver the latest information to other contestants, so he didn't stay with Lei Ze for long.

After seeing Zhu Ziqi off, Lei Ze sat back down on the sofa and carefully studied the newly acquired materials. He knew that the changes to the competition rules had undoubtedly made the competition even more intense.

Just then, Pikachu, who had just finished sleeping, slowly walked out of the bedroom, yawning.

He saw Razer sitting alone on the sofa looking at something, and immediately jumped up on him out of curiosity.

Razer didn't say much about Pikachu's arrival. He simply patted Pikachu's head as usual, which made the little guy let out a soft, cute laugh.

"Pikachu, it seems we need to get ready." Pikachu called out, as if in response.

This national tournament is divided into a knockout stage (preliminary round), a group round-robin stage, and the final decisive championship!

Apart from the preliminary rounds, which have just had their rules changed, the rules for the group stage and the final tournament remain the same as in previous years.

The same format will be used, with the 256 contestants who passed the preliminary round grouped into groups of four, and the contestants with the highest scores in a three-on-three format will advance to the top 64.

In this segment, Razer decided that, in order to train Espeon and Combusken, they would handle the battles unless absolutely necessary.

Even when faced with a formidable foe, Razer would deploy the Metal Golems as the third unit to prevent a mishap.

Since it was his first time participating in the national competition, Lei Ze focused all his attention on arranging the departure list and didn't notice his phone, so much so that he didn't even notice a text message that had just been sent to him.

Zhou Ruolin: [Lei Ze, I heard you're also participating in the national competition this time. I have some inside information for you: Gu Fan has become a substitute member in the team competition. It's been a while since we've seen each other, let's get together and chat!]

Long after the message was sent, Zhou Ruolin, who was in the hotel, had not received a reply from Lei Ze.

"This kid, is he too busy with the competition to see the message?" Zhou Ruolin muttered, just as she was about to send another message when her phone suddenly vibrated. It was a call from Gu Fan.

"Hey, Gu Fan, what's wrong?" Zhou Ruolin asked.

"Ruolin, I heard that Lei Ze is also participating in the national competition. Let's invite him out for a get-together." Gu Fan's voice came from the other end of the phone.

"What a coincidence, I just messaged him, but he hasn't replied yet," Zhou Ruolin said helplessly.

"Alright, let's wait for his reply." Although Gu Fan was a little disappointed, he didn't say anything more.
