The journey was always boring. Xia Chu sat in the carriage, rocking back and forth until her bones were about to fall apart. During the lunch break, there was no place to rest nearby, so she had to sit on the ground. The carriage had a lot of snacks and food, and some of the maids lit the stove to boil water for tea, while others spread out blankets and placed the food on them.

"I'll go take a look around." Zhao Huazhang got off his horse, said hello to Xia Chu, and walked away.

Xia Tian picked up some dry firewood nearby to make a fire and heat the meat patties.

"Brother, let me help." Xia Chu took the pancakes that Xia Tian had skewered and helped to bake them.

Zhao Huazhang returned soon after, carrying two cooked rabbits. Cuihua took out some salt and honey and helped roast the rabbits.

The group was in no hurry and ate and drank slowly. After a short rest, they set off again.

Xia Chu stood beside the carriage, looking at Xia Tian's horse eagerly, "I want to ride a horse, big brother, let me switch with you."

"Get in the car. It's so cold, you'll get sick from the cold." Xia Tian disagreed.

"I'm wearing a cloak! I'll ride slower!" Xia Chu took two steps over, pulled his reins, and refused to let go.

"Aunt Qingwu, please take care of her." Xia Tian had no choice but to ask Jia Qingwu for help.

"Just agree to her request." Unexpectedly, Jia Qingwu not only did not help him, but instead spoke up for Xia Chu. "She was fidgeting in the car, disturbing everyone's peace and quiet."

"It hurts!" Xia Chu suddenly shouted.

Jia Qingwu heard the voice, opened the car curtain, and looked at Xia Tian with his hand on Xia Chu's forehead, while Xia Chu covered her forehead. She disapproved and said, "Xia Tian, why did you hit me?"

Xia Tian's hands were still frozen in the air, and he wanted to explain that he hadn't touched it yet. But seeing Xia Chu's sly smile, he gritted his teeth and wanted to really give her two heads a blast, while Jia Qingwu was still watching. He laughed in anger and dismounted, "Ride it, ride it, it's yours."

Zhao Huazhang's lips curled up; he'd seen everything. But he had no intention of helping Xia Tian explain. He kicked his horse and approached Xia Chu. He watched her mount swiftly, then, like a child at her best, flick the reins and gallop off.

"Hey, the lady's cloak!" Cuihua chased for two steps, but of course she couldn't catch it.

But Xia Chu had already run far away and didn't hear it at all.

"I'll give it to her." Zhao Huazhang took the cloak and urged his horse to chase after her.

The cold wind whipped across my face, stinging my cheeks. But the extreme speed caused blood vessels throughout my body to dilate, and adrenaline to surge. Xia Chu felt as if she were about to take flight, wanting to let go and let herself fly.

Zhao Huazhang's horse was of pure pedigree, far superior to Xia Chu's. He quickly caught up, even surpassing the front. Just as he was about to speak, he saw Xia Chu's eyes were frighteningly bright, completely immersed in the joy of galloping.

He hesitated for a moment, then said, "Xiaochu, cloak."

Xia Chu heard Zhao Huazhang's voice, but she couldn't hear it clearly. All she could hear was the whistling wind. So she just turned her head and smiled at Zhao Huazhang without stopping.

After galloping for about a quarter of an hour, Xia Chu finally relaxed her body. She then realized that her entire body seemed to be blown through by the wind. She shivered, her hot blood cooling down, and the chill biting her bones.

Zhao Huazhang had been following her all the time. Seeing this, he frowned and asked, "Are you cold?"

"Cold~" Xia Chu felt like he was thrown from a greenhouse into an ice cellar.

Zhao Huazhang took her reins, draped her cloak over her back, dismounted, carried her down, and brought her to the side of the road. "There's no wind here, let's take a break first."

After adding a layer of rabbit fur cloak, Xia Chu felt a little better. Knowing that she had been too reckless just now, she now obediently allowed Zhao Huazhang to help her wrap the cloak tightly.

Zhao Huazhang saw a simple thatched hut ahead where several passersby were resting, so he said, "There's a teahouse ahead. Let's go over there and have a cup of hot tea."

Xia Chu nodded, and the two of them walked over. Zhao Huazhang ordered a pot of ginger tea. It was cold in winter, so the boss prepared this and scooped a pot of boiling hot tea directly from the pot and brought it up.

Zhao Huazhang checked the temperature with his hand. The place was simple, with only small, coarse earthenware bowls for drinking tea. He poured a bowl and handed it over. "It's very hot. Warm your hands first."

Although the bowl was hot, Xia Chu felt very comfortable. The heat flowed into her palms, slowly driving away the chill. She joked to Zhao Huazhang, "It smells very spicy. It seems the boss was willing to use ginger."

"Hmm." Zhao Huazhang nodded. He also smelled it. Then he thought of something and stood up and walked towards the boss. A moment later, he returned with a small bowl with a layer of thin sugar sand at the bottom. "It has sugar, so it won't be spicy."

Xia Chu was stunned for a moment, then lowered her head and laughed. She watched Zhao Huazhang pour more ginger tea into the sugar bowl and walk out of the shed with the bowl. She thought to herself, "What are you doing?"

"Blow it cooler so it's easier to eat." Zhao Huazhang said honestly.

Xia Chu's smile grew even brighter, and she suddenly remembered a sentence she had seen somewhere: It said that whether a person is attentive or not has nothing to do with emotional intelligence or anything else; love will teach them everything.

She had previously thought Zhao Huazhang was a bit dull, even his clinginess was so stiff and clumsy that it was almost funny. But his behavior today was like pouring a spoonful of honey into Xia Chu's heart.

If someone casually said something spicy, he would immediately reach for some sugar. Worried that she would get sick if she didn't drink the ginger soup in time, he would stand in the wind and make her some herbal tea.

This small gesture may not be a big deal, but perhaps only when you care about someone completely can you be so attentive and considerate.

Xia Chu tilted her head slightly and looked at the people outside the shed with a gentle smile. At this moment, she sincerely felt that marrying Zhao Huazhang would be a very happy thing.

Zhao Huazhang repeatedly felt the temperature, and finally felt that it was okay, so he walked in. "It's a little hot, but it's just right to warm your body. Drink it quickly to get rid of the cold."

"Okay." Xia Chu took the bowl and drank it all. Although his mouth was a little spicy, he smiled and said, "It's very sweet."

Zhao Huazhang nodded, looked up and met her eyes, somewhat puzzled by her happiness. But he just laughed along, "Shall I go get some more candy and have another bowl?"

"Okay." Xia Chu nodded.

Even though I drank ginger tea promptly, Xia Chu still caught a cold. My nose was blocked that evening, and I woke up with a cough the next day.

Xia Tian was annoyed that she didn't listen to his advice, but he hurriedly called a doctor.

"I just have a slight cold. The doctor said that three doses of medicine will be enough. I'm in good health and nothing will happen." Xia Chu pinched his nose and drank the dark and pungent Chinese medicine. Just as he stuck out his tongue, Jia Qingwu stuffed a candied fruit into his mouth.

"It's my fault. I shouldn't have let you go." Jia Qingwu wished she could have taken his place.

"It's my fault for being too playful." Xia Chu covered her nose. "I'm driving alone today, so please stay away from me to prevent infection."

"That won't work. What if it gets hot?" Jia Qingwu disagreed and insisted on riding in the same car with Xia Chu.
