When Xia Chu woke up, the eldest child had already gone out, and the second child was lying on the ground with a pale face. If it wasn't serious, he should have woken up by now. He had to find a way to see a doctor, but he had no money. What should he do?

Just when he was in trouble, a young man came over from a distance. He put a bamboo tube into Xia Chu's hand and said, "Drink."

Xia Chu looked at him blankly, "Who are you? What is this?"

"He's Brother Dali, Xiaoliu, don't you recognize him?" Xiaowu also woke up. He first looked at his unconscious second brother and pouted. With swollen eyes, he looked at Dali, "Brother Dali, did Grandma Wang ask you to bring him here?"

"Drink." Wang Dali didn't say anything. He only remembered what his grandmother said: give it to Xiaowu to drink and bring the bamboo tube back.

"Xiaoliu, drink it quickly." Xiaowu rubbed his eyes and squatted beside Erwa, looking at him.

"Thank you." Xia Chu thanked him first. Sure enough, the noodle soup was the same cloudy and yellow as yesterday. "Fifth brother, help second brother up."

Xiaowu cried out "Ah", then reacted and held his second brother's head to help him up.

After feeding Erwa half of it, Xia Chu drank two sips herself and gave the rest to Xiaowu.

After Dali took the bamboo tube and left, Xia Chu asked again, "I can't remember a lot of things since I got sick. Fifth brother, Dali seems a little different from us."

"Brother Dali had a fever when he was a kid, and it damaged his brain." Xiaowu said this and looked at Xiaoliu, "You didn't have a fever too, did you? Why don't you remember anything?"

Xia Chu was not afraid of being exposed. How deep could such a child think? Even adults could not imagine that she had a new soul. "No, I remembered it as soon as you mentioned it. Grandma Wang is really kind."

"Yes, Grandma Wang has always taken good care of you. She raised two grandchildren by herself. If it weren't for Dali's strength and Xiaocong's intelligence, they would have been bullied to no end." Xiaowu's face drooped. "I'm so useless. If it weren't for my big brother and second brother, none of us would have survived."

What about the third and fourth children? Are they all gone? Xia Chu didn't ask, because if she did, she would definitely be exposed.

Xia Chu looked outside and a thought occurred to her. She saw Grandma Wang and her two grandsons walking out. Wang Dali was taller than Grandma Wang and, though thin, he looked presentable. The other, Wang Xiaocong, was thin and frail, looking listless.

She hurried out, "Grandma Wang, are you going out?"

"Yes, let's go out and find something to eat." Grandma Wang smiled.

"Can you take me with you? I won't follow you. I'll go find food by myself." She had to go out and think of a solution. Erwa couldn't do this.

Grandma Wang hesitated for a moment and actually looked at her little grandson.

Wang Xiaocong looked Xia Chu up and down. He wondered what such a small thing could find to eat, but he still nodded.

"Thank you." Xia Chu greeted Xiao Wu and followed the three people from the Wang family despite his objection.

There were dozens of shacks here, all randomly placed, with no planning at all. After winding his way out, Xia Chu turned back to find his home and memorize the route.

Grandma Wang and her two companions avoided the main roads and instead took the smaller alleys. Xia Chu didn't even have time to glance back at the busy streets; she was completely absorbed in memorizing the route.

But they were getting further and further off the track. Xia Chu felt a little uneasy and stopped walking. "Grandma Wang, I've memorized the route. You guys go find something to eat. I won't follow you."

Before Grandma Wang could say anything, Wang Xiaocong said, "What can a five-year-old like you find to eat? Come with me, I'll take you to dig wild vegetables."

Wild vegetables? Do wild vegetables grow in the city? Xia Chu was puzzled, but thinking of Grandma Wang's care, she followed. After crossing a secluded street and walking down two alleys, she unexpectedly saw another small river. Several women were washing clothes by the river. Xia Chu looked at the water with envy, wanting to jump in and wash herself clean.

I couldn't bear it any longer, "Grandma Wang, can I go wash my face?"

Grandma Wang was taken aback for a moment. She had not expected this boy to be so tidy. "Go ahead. We'll be waiting for you."

Xia Chu thanked him again and walked downriver to a deserted spot. She scrubbed her arms clean. She was surprised by how fair her skin was. After washing her hands, she cleaned her starched face. If the water hadn't been so cold, she would have washed her hair. She tore a piece of cloth from her clothes and washed it, then combed her dirty hair through it and tied it tightly with the cloth. After this, her vision felt clearer.

"Oh, Xiaoliu is so pretty, like a little girl." Grandma Wang couldn't help laughing as she looked at the fair and clean little guy.

"Let's go." Wang Xiaocong took a few glances and continued walking forward.

Wang Dali followed his brother without looking away.

This time, they walked a short distance until they reached a courtyard wall. Wang Dali was the first to step forward and push aside a stone. Wang Xiaocong and Grandma Wang both crawled inside, followed by Xia Chu. Wang Dali moved the stone back and sat on it to wait.

"The owner of the garden in front committed a serious crime, and their house was ransacked. His wife and children were hanged together. Others think it's unlucky, so no one wants to buy. There are a lot of wild vegetables growing here, so it's a good deal for us." Grandma Wang explained a few words and pulled a few wild vegetables for Xia Chu to use as a model. "You go to that part, and don't wander around. This garden is huge."

"Okay, thank you grandma." Xia Chu was actually very tired after walking so far. When she arrived at the place where Grandma Wang pointed, she sat down to rest. It was spring now, and the wild vegetables had just grown out and looked very tender.

She didn't dare rest any longer, squatting on the ground to look for the kinds of vegetables that Grandma Wang had mentioned. Perhaps no one had come here, so there were a lot of wild vegetables growing here. She pulled a lot of them, only to find that there was nothing to put them in.

There was a small house in front, and Xia Chu wanted to go in and see if there were any backpacks or baskets.

The dilapidated wooden door creaked harshly when it was pushed open. Xia Chu fanned away the dust. The room looked like a gardener's tool room. Small hoes and shovels, flower pots, and wooden barrels were placed against the wall.

She turned around, trying to get a wooden bucket to hold the vegetables, but when she lifted it, the bottom fell off. She then reached for a hoe. It was good, though a little rusty. She took three and prepared to give two to Grandma Wang.

She went into other houses to look for treasure, but found nothing useful.

Turning to the other side, I saw a large field of roses. Red, white, yellow and pink, so lovely.

An idea suddenly occurred to her: could she sell flowers? Since this was unowned land and no one appreciated the flower garden, why not sell them cheaply and let them earn some money to fill their stomachs?

But taking something without asking is stealing, she bit her lip, but Erwa was unconscious at home and needed money to see a doctor urgently. So, let’s just steal!

She avoided the thorns, picked a flower of each color, and turned back to look for Grandma Wang and the others.

When Grandma Wang saw the flowers in her hand, she wondered why this boy was still interested in flowers. She had seen these flowers before. They were beautiful, but they couldn't fill her stomach.

"Grandma Wang! Let's go sell flowers!" Xia Chu said happily.

Grandma Wang shook her head and advised, "Selling flowers? No one will buy them. You'd better dig more wild vegetables. That will fill your stomach."

Wang Xiaocong showed an interested look. He had seen this flower before, but he never thought that it could make money.
