Feng Shui live broadcast: A haunted house worth 50 million is not worth living in
Chapter 66: The grudges that have plagued several generations
Chen Yile and Cheng Nian didn't have time to think about it. They ran desperately and fled out of the village along the path.
They ran for a distance and finally stopped to catch their breath. Looking back, they found that the skeleton was standing in the distance, seemingly unable to leave the confines of the old house.
The two breathed a sigh of relief, but were still frightened.
"What is going on?" Cheng Nian asked breathlessly.
Chen Yile shook his head: "I don't know either, but there is obviously something strange in this old house."
A hint of determination flashed in Cheng Nian's eyes: "Brother Le, we have to find out what is behind this."
Chen Yile nodded: "However, we must be more fully prepared before returning."
They decided to go back to their previous village to find some tools and equipment.
On the way, Cheng Nian received a phone call. She took a look and her face became solemn.
"It's my dad. He said he has something urgent and wants me to go home." Cheng Nian said after hanging up the phone.
Chen Yile frowned: "Then you go back first, I will check it myself."
Cheng Nian shook his head: "No, I can't leave you alone. This matter concerns my family, I must get to the bottom of it."
They returned to town and first went to a hardware store to buy some tools and a flashlight, and then went to the supermarket to buy some food and water.
Then, they went back to the hotel where Chen Yile had stayed before and stayed there temporarily to discuss their next plan.
As night fell, the hotel was unusually quiet, with only the rustling of leaves in the wind.
Cheng Nian lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
The image of the skeleton and those creepy sounds kept appearing in her mind.
"Brother Le, are you asleep?" Cheng Nian asked softly.
"Not yet." Chen Yile's voice came from the bed next to him.
"I always feel that the skeleton is related to the grudges of the Tong family." Cheng Nian said.
"It's possible." Chen Yile responded, "We'll go again tomorrow, but we have to be more careful."
The next morning, they set out again, ready to explore the old house again.
To be safe, Chen Yile decided to walk around the old house to see if there were any other entrances.
They walked along the wall of the old house and found a hidden small door in the backyard.
Chen Yile used tools to pry open the door lock, carefully pushed the door open, and found a staircase leading to the basement.
"It looks like there might be clues here." Chen Yile said.
Cheng Nian nodded and followed closely behind him.
They walked down the stairs step by step. The air around them became increasingly colder and the walls were covered with moss and moisture.
At the end of the stairs was a heavy iron door. Chen Yile pushed it open with force, making a creaking sound.
Behind the iron gate is a dim basement filled with all kinds of old things and discarded furniture.
Chen Yile used a flashlight to illuminate the surroundings and found an old table in the corner with a few yellowed books and an oil lamp on it.
"This place looks like the Tong family's secret base." Chen Yile said in a low voice.
Cheng Nian walked to the table, opened a book, and found that it recorded some old events.
She read carefully and found that these words recorded the grievances and entanglements between the Tong family and the Cheng family, as well as that unknown history.
"It turns out that there was indeed a conflict between our family and the Tong family back then." Cheng Nian said.
"The book says that my grandfather once helped a villager who had offended the Tong family and was being hunted by them."
"Grandpa saved him out of a sense of justice, but ended up having a grudge against the Tong family."
"Then why did the skeleton attack you?" asked Chen Yile.
"I don't know either. The book doesn't explain it in detail. However, it also mentions an ancient curse." Cheng Nian continued reading.
"The Tong family seems to have mastered a mysterious power that can summon the undead for revenge."
"Maybe the skeleton was summoned by this curse." Chen Yile said thoughtfully.
"We must find a way to break the curse."
They continued searching in the basement, and suddenly, Cheng Nian discovered a secret door in the corner of the wall.
Chen Yile used tools to pry open the secret door and found a narrow passage inside, at the end of which was a small secret room.
There was a very simple altar in the secret room, no, it should be said to be an altar, on which were placed some strange talismans and instruments.
Cheng Nian approached the altar and found a parchment scroll on it, which seemed to be some kind of ancient document.
"This may be the Tong family's curse book." Cheng Nian said. She carefully unfolded the parchment and found that it recorded a ritual to lift the curse.
"We can try this ritual," Chen Yile said, "but we need some specific materials."
They prepared some spices, herbs and spells according to the instructions on the parchment.
Then they returned to the old house and decided to perform a spell to lift the curse at night.
As night falls, moonlight shines through the dilapidated windows onto the ground, making the entire old house look even more eerie and terrifying.
Chen Yile and Cheng Nian lit candles in front of the altar and began to recite the spell on the parchment scroll.
The sound of the spell echoed in the empty room, and a mysterious atmosphere filled the air.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake and a strange light appeared on the wall.
Chen Yile and Cheng Nian felt a powerful force surging around them, as if some invisible existence was spying on them.
"Hold on!" Chen Yile shouted loudly. He held Cheng Nian's hand tightly and continued to chant the spell.
Suddenly, a dazzling light burst out from the altar, illuminating the entire room as if it were daytime.
The skeleton's figure appeared in front of them again, but this time, its movements became slow, as if it was restrained by something.
Chen Yile and Cheng Nian continued to chant the spell with all their might.
"Gate gate, paragate..."
The skeleton roared in pain, its body gradually crumbling and turning into dust.
Finally, everything returned to calm, the skeleton disappeared completely, and only the two of them were left in the room.
"Success..." Cheng Nian breathed a sigh of relief and almost collapsed to the ground.
Chen Yile also felt a wave of fatigue, but he still helped Cheng Nian up: "We did it."
They left the old house and walked in the quiet night, their hearts filled with gratitude for surviving the disaster.
Despite experiencing such a horrific event, they finally lifted the curse and restored the truth of history.
When they returned to town, the sky was beginning to brighten and a new day was about to begin.
Cheng Nian looked at Chen Yile with gratitude in his eyes: "Brother Le, thank you. If it weren't for you, I really don't know what to do."
Chen Yile smiled and shook his head: "This is what I should do. You can rest assured now."
Cheng Nian nodded, tears glistening in his eyes: "Thank you, Brother Le. Really."
After they said goodbye, Cheng Nian went home and Chen Yile returned to the village hotel.
