The cannon fodder female supporting role in the misplaced life
Chapter 162 Novice Mission 161
"They came back to class yesterday. I wanted to tell you in the cafeteria yesterday, but we didn't meet you there." Ma Jiajia looked at Xu Yingying with regret and slapped her thigh in annoyance.
"I took a leave of absence yesterday morning for something, so I only came here in the afternoon. I didn't eat lunch at school." Xu Yingying shook her head gently, explaining why she didn't come to the cafeteria yesterday.
"No wonder. I was wondering why I only saw your classmates and not you yesterday." Ma Jiajia nodded in sudden realization. Then her eyes fell on Fan Weile and she asked curiously, "Why did your deskmate come to eat with you two girls today?"
Fan Weile felt helpless. He knew the person sitting next to him was the senior student Xu Yingying had introduced him to two days earlier. His previous words must have irritated her, and she was now furious with him. But Fan Weile didn't care. Besides Xu Yingying, he didn't care what others thought. So, Fan Weile smiled and calmly replied, "We're classmates. Is it weird for us to eat together after class?"
"Why do you talk like that?" Ma Jiajia didn't expect Fan Weile to directly retort. Her eyes widened, a hint of dissatisfaction and surprise on her face.
"I just say what I think, unlike some people who always talk nonsense here!" Fan Weile continued. His voice was calm and firm, and he seemed to be completely unconcerned about Ma Jiajia's reaction.
"Sister Jiajia, don't be angry. He's just like that. Don't blame him for not being able to talk." Xu Yingying tried to ease the atmosphere and quickly mediate the quarrel between the two. She looked at Ma Jiajia with a hint of apology and worry in her eyes.
"Yingying, your deskmate talks like this, why do you still take him out to play? I guess it's because he always talks offensively that's why no one wants to play with him." Ma Jiajia continued sarcastically, her gaze shifting from Fan Weile to Xu Yingying, a hint of disdain and ridicule in her tone.
"What's it to you?" Fan Weile said word by word, his voice low and firm.
"You really don't know what's good for you." Ma Jiajia commented with a hint of displeasure on her face.
"It's none of your business." Fan Weile continued, his expression still indifferent, as if he didn't care at all about Ma Jiajia's words.
"Oh, I'm so mad, Yingying, your deskmate is really..." Before Ma Jiajia finished her words, Chen Xiaofen interrupted her, "Eat." Her eyes signaled Ma Jiajia not to continue, and also contained a hint of warning.
Ma Jiajia glared at Fan Weile fiercely, her heart filled with anger, but she still kept her mouth shut. She had originally planned to eat first and didn't want to argue with Fan Weile anymore, but she didn't expect Fan Weile's next words to make her completely explode.
"Classmate Xu Yingying, you really shouldn't associate with these messy people. They make a lot of noise even when we have a meal, and they meddle in everything. I really don't know how someone like her can still have friends." Fan Weile's words were filled with deep sarcasm and disdain, which made Ma Jiajia feel extremely humiliated and angry.
Her face instantly turned red, her eyes flashed with anger, her hands clenched into fists, and her body trembled slightly. However, just as she was about to open her mouth to refute, Chen Xiaofen suddenly shouted: "Now, are you going to let me eat properly?"
Chen Xiaofen's voice resounded like thunder in the restaurant, and everyone was intimidated by her momentum and stopped arguing and talking. They all realized that if they continued to argue, things might get out of control.
For a moment, the entire restaurant fell silent, with only the sounds of chewing and the clatter of cutlery filling the air. Ma Jiajia and Fan Weile also lowered their heads silently and began to eat, no longer talking.
Xu Yingying hadn't expected Chen Xiaofen to snap, which brought the farce to a brief end. The six people at the table suddenly fell silent, concentrating on their meal. As they were almost finished, Xu Yingying finally heard Ma Jiajia ask her, "Yingying, weren't you injured the day before yesterday? How are you feeling now?" It turned out that Ma Jiajia had just been reminded by Chen Xiaofen, so she decided not to argue with Fan Weile next door and instead turned her attention to Xu Yingying's injury.
Xu Yingying smiled and replied, "It's okay, it's just a minor skin injury, don't worry!"
Ma Jiajia said to her seriously, "There's no need to be so polite between friends!"
Xu Yingying nodded, indicating that she understood: "Okay, I understand!"
At this time, Chen Xiaofen also noticed their conversation and asked with concern: "Yingying, what exactly are you injured?"
Xu Yingying replied casually: "It's really nothing serious, just some minor scratches."
Ma Jiajia immediately retorted, "How is that possible? How can a minor scrape require bandage?"
"Where?" Chen Xiaofen asked.
Xu Yingying was a little overwhelmed by Ma Jiajia's words, but she finally had to hand her hand to Chen Xiaofen, showing the gauze on her hand. Fortunately, she did not remove the gauze because of the momentary trouble, otherwise it would be difficult to explain now.
However, she never expected that Fan Weile, who was sitting opposite her, also saw this scene. When she showed the gauze, she accidentally exposed the red mark on her ankle.
"Did you injure your hand this morning?" Fan Weile stared at Xu Yingying and asked directly.
Before Xu Yingying could react to Fan Weile's sudden question, Ma Jiajia noticed the redness and swelling on Xu Yingying's ankle. Although there was no bleeding, the swelling was very obvious, like a ripe strawberry.
Ma Jiajia frowned anxiously and asked with concern: "Did something happen this morning? How could this happen?"
Xu Yingying lowered her head, her eyes flickering, as if she wanted to avoid the topic. Xu Yingying said softly, "Nothing."
However, when Xu Yingying tried to withdraw her hand, she was grabbed by Chen Xiaofen. Chen Xiaofen held her wrist tightly and looked at Xu Yingying firmly, as if she wanted to see through Xu Yingying's eyes into her heart.
"What's going on?" Chen Xiaofen asked.
"I just encountered some accidents this morning and accidentally got my hand a little red." Xu Yingying said simply.
"Is it inconvenient for you to tell me?" Chen Xiaofen looked at the cafeteria and felt that she shouldn't ask Xu Yingying here.
"Okay, I won't ask, but if you have anything to say, just tell us. We will definitely find a way to help you." Chen Xiaofen said to Xu Yingying.
