Gold Medal Sweetheart
Chapter 79 Ambiguity
Chapter 79 Ambiguity
It was not until he arrived at the gate of Cheng Ran’s university that he saw a familiar figure, looking even thinner due to being soaked by the heavy rain. He was squatting at the school gate with his knees bent and his head buried between his legs.
But when she saw how heartbreakingly lonely she was, she didn't dare go over to her, fearing that if she got close she would feel the pain too.
She pursed her lips tightly and walked step by step to her with an umbrella, blocking the rain that was as ruthless as the human heart. The girl raised her head, her empty eyes seemed as if her soul had been taken away, and her red eyes told her that the wetness on her face was not rain.
She was struggling over whether or not she should tell Tang Xin about her meeting with Cheng Ran. She wanted to crush Cheng Ran to pieces more than anyone else, and she also didn't want Tang Xin to be thinking about him anymore.
But since then, Tang Xin seems unwilling to open her heart to anyone, even though she has many suitors around her.
She felt that only by truly letting go could she be free. So, whether she loved or hated this person, there had to be a conclusion. To do that, she had to face herself and Cheng Ran.
"It's okay, it's all over." Tang Xin said softly, her voice so soft as if she had used up the last bit of strength in her body.
"I still have papers to print, so let's not talk about it for now." Without waiting for Yu Shan to answer, she hung up the phone in a hurry. She was afraid that if she continued to talk, the emotions she was trying so hard to control would collapse.
Tang Xin slumped back against the chair, her body drained as if hollowed out. She squeezed her eyes shut. The person she'd thought would never appear in her lifetime had returned to this city.
But so what? Just as cruel and decisive as he left without saying goodbye, she should be just as indifferent and calm now. That's what's right.
He was just a former classmate of hers, a trivial figure in her life.
When the door to the General Affairs Office was pushed open, Director Zhang saw Tang Xin hunched over in a chair, lost in thought. He asked with concern, "Xiao Tang, what are you thinking about?"
Tang Xin suddenly felt a little embarrassed, a hint of panic on her face. She sat up straight and tried to lift the corners of her lips, "Nothing."
"The winning works of the student calligraphy competition have been selected. Please post your works on the bulletin board today." The students were very enthusiastic about the calligraphy competition last week. They collected many excellent works and selected more than a dozen winning works.
"Okay." Tang Xin cheered up and immersed herself in work, not thinking about things that had nothing to do with her.
Perhaps because Jin Taize had taken over the school, Principal Wang planned to request funds for a batch of office supplies and audio-visual equipment. Tang Xin was busy this afternoon compiling a list of items to be purchased. As she finished typing the last word on her computer, she heard colleagues passing by and saying goodbye. It was then that she realized it was time to leave. Because of the forecast for heavy rain that afternoon, the school had temporarily suspended evening self-study, and the students had already left.
She couldn't spare any time that afternoon. She glanced at the student's work still lying quietly on the table, then looked out the window. Dark clouds were already approaching. Tang Xin struggled internally for a moment, closed her eyes, grabbed the stack of papers, and ran to the exhibition window in the first-floor lobby. If she had moved faster, she might have missed the rain.
The teacher's photography had been on display for a while, so Tang Xin took it down to make room. The window display was completely cluttered with posters, and she couldn't reach the top, so she had to move a chair to help.
After a busy day, the May weather and the oppressive pre-rain air had already made a thin layer of sweat seep onto Tang Xin's forehead. Picking up the paper, she gestured, planning the layout and layout. Once she had a clear idea in mind, she prepared to paste it.
He Jingyang, a sophomore Chinese student, was the last one to walk out of the office after finishing his work. As he walked downstairs, his eyes fell on Tang Xin, who was busy and hunched over in front of an exhibition window.
The figure of the girl standing on the chair made his eyebrows twitch involuntarily. At that time, they were in the same office, but after she was transferred to the General Affairs Office, the opportunities to meet became much less.
He walked over quickly and asked with concern, "Everyone has left, why are you still busy?"
Hearing the voice, Tang Xin turned around suddenly. He Jingyang had already strode to her side. She smiled politely in return, "Okay, I'll finish this."
He Jingyang rolled up his sleeves and said, "It's so troublesome for you to go up and down like this. Let me help you."
She was a little caught off guard and refused, "It's going to rain, you should go home quickly, I can finish it myself in a while, this is not your job." It was him who was transferred to the General Affairs Office to do odd jobs, how could she have the nerve to ask someone else to do this job, after all, he was a full-time Chinese teacher, a person entrusted with an important task, not like her who was so unwelcome now.
"Just because it's about to rain, you shouldn't be polite to me," He Jingyang readily snatched the paper from Tang Xin's hand, "I'll help you stick it on." As he said that, he put tape on the paper and handed it to her.
Tang Xin couldn't resist him, so she smiled and compromised, "Thank you."
When Jin Taize came down from upstairs, he saw this scene. The man had a satisfied smile on his face as he tilted his head and handed the paper to the girl. The girl took the thing from the man with a smile on her face. There was an ambiguous factor floating in the air as the two of them moved back and forth.
Jin Taize's face suddenly sank, he clenched his teeth tightly, and his jawline was tense due to the force.
