Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 67 Promise yourself

Tang Xin watched him through the rearview mirror as he took something out of the car, took a few quick steps, and walked back. She stared at his movements in a daze until two exquisite bags appeared before her eyes.

"What is this?" Tang Xin was not sure about her guess.

"It's a reissued cake for you." Jin Taize raised his eyebrows, not caring much about Tang Xin's question.

"When did you buy it?" Tang Xin covered her mouth, still unable to believe it.

Jin Taize looked at Tang Xin's surprised expression, sneered softly, and a smile appeared at the corners of his eyes.

If you calculate it, he could only buy it during the time he went out to make a phone call while eating. No wonder he took so long.

But he had to run from the fifth floor of the mall to the first floor, pick up the cake, put it back in the car in the basement, and then come back. These ten minutes must have been very tense, not to mention that he had to make phone calls and handle work during this time.

Tang Xin's heart was suddenly filled with something. She didn't say anything, just looked at Jin Taize straight.

"What? Are you so moved that you want to marry me?" Jin Taize put his arm on the car window, fingers pressed on his temples, and said with disdain, "I don't dare to accept it."

The emotions that were originally surging out came to an abrupt stop, like a bottle of bubbling Coke that suddenly had the cap put on it.

Tang Xin was filled with shame and indignation. Her eyes widened as she spoke stiffly, "Thank you for helping me." She had wanted to thank him, but his words easily ruined the atmosphere. With that, she snatched the cake bag from Jin Taize's hand with one hand and got off the bus with her backpack in the other.

Before he took two steps, Jin Taize's voice rang out from behind him, "Xin, don't forget."

Tang Xin turned around and saw Jin Taize sticking his arm out of the car window, holding the balloon string, with a look of gloating.

Tang Xin ran to the front of the car, angrily snatched the balloon string from his hand, turned around and ran into the building.

Jin Taize rested his arm on the rolled-down car window, his fingers covering his plump lips. He tilted his head and squinted his eyes, gazing into space. Suddenly, the dark room on the third floor was illuminated by a soft, warm light, and a stuffed animal appeared blankly in the corner of the bay window. He shook his head and smiled.

Just now on the road, she was so nervous that she used her cell phone to block him. From the reflection of the car window, he saw his interview video playing on Tang Xin's cell phone. He raised his eyebrows with an intriguing expression.

He rolled down the window, started the car, and reached for the button. Soft music filled the air. He put a little pressure on his foot, and the steering wheel seemed lighter and more flexible than usual, accommodating the music. He turned the car and headed for the residential complex exit.

As the security door opened, Tang Xin's lazy voice entered the room, "Mom, I'm back."

Tang's mother, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV, glanced at Tang Xin from the screen and said, "You're back. What good things did you buy?"

"Yushan bought the balloons and cake," Tang Xin replied as she was changing her shoes in the entrance hall. She didn't want to tell her mother about her complicated relationship with Jin Taize, but luckily, it was likely to be short-lived, so there was no need to tell her mother.

"Oh, Yushan treats you as a child and buys you these things." Mother Tang said with a smile.

"Isn't that so?" Tang Xin shrugged. That Jin Taize just liked to order her around, like a parent.

Returning to the bedroom, she turned on the light, put the cake on the table, and casually released the balloon, which floated lightly to the ceiling at the end of the bed.

She had walked a lot today, so she wanted to take a bath and relax.

Tang Xin finished her shower, changed into comfortable pajamas, and returned to her room. Her phone, resting on the bed, began to buzz with WeChat notifications. She clicked on the message and, gritted her teeth, sent a voice message, "Guan Yushan, where have you been these past few days?"

Guan Yushan listened to the WeChat messages Tang Xin had sent a few days ago, one after another, starting with "Yushan, I can't act anymore," then "Yushan, reply to me as soon as possible," then "If you don't reply to me, you'll be in trouble," and finally, "We're breaking up." She felt the situation was dire, so dire that Tang Xin might want to tear her into pieces.

So the first thing I did after returning from a business trip was to comfort Tang Xin and then lower my attitude to let her vent her anger.

At this moment, she held the phone far away, her eyebrows twisted together, and she scratched her ears that were hurt by the vibration. Although she was wrong first, Tang Xin was still angry, so she didn't dare to call rashly.

So I sent a gentle voice message explaining, "I was on a business trip a few days ago. When I arrived in Qingdao, my phone fell into the sea and turned off. I waited two days, but it still wouldn't turn on. I bought a phone online, but it came back in a few days. I was afraid I'd leave before it could be shipped to Qingdao, so I sent it home directly. But then my work delayed me for a few days, so I haven't been able to contact you."

Guan Yushan recounted the entire incident in one breath, and finally pleaded pitifully, "I'm sorry, Tang Tang, I didn't mean it."

After learning the whole story, Yu Shan had no choice but to not reply to her message. Yu Shan's sincere attitude calmed Tang Xin's anger. However, she still couldn't help but retort, "Why wasn't you the one who fell into the sea?"

Although there was some sting in Tang Xin's words, as her best friend for many years, Guan Yushan could feel that Tang Xin's attitude had softened, so she immediately made a video call, intending to express her sincerity in her apology.

Tang Xin deliberately put on a cold face and pressed the accept button. As soon as the call was connected, she heard Guan Yushan's sour and cheesy love words, "How could I bear to part with you!"

Tang Xin snorted, fell onto the bed, brushed her bangs back, and asked mischievously, "Are you reluctant to let me go, or are you worried that I won't be able to handle the situation well?"
