Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 53 Being Invited to the Stage

"The following is our exciting interactive session—" The host raised his voice and used an enthusiastic tone to liven up the atmosphere.

Tang Xin's attention was also successfully attracted. She gave up arguing with Jin Taize and turned to look at the center of the stage. Like many of the audience present, she paid attention to what the host was going to say next.

Standing behind Tang Xin, Jin Taize leaned slightly to the side, his bent body like a massive rock on a mountain peak, making the girl beneath him look even smaller. He lowered his shoulders, his eyes fixed on Tang Xin, who was several meters lower than him, with a serious expression. He couldn't help but curl his lips. She was so easily fooled.

Jin Taize retracted his gaze, glanced at the stage, and said disdainfully: "These are all marketing tactics."

However, Jin Taize's words were completely blocked out by Tang Xin naturally.

"We'd like to invite everyone in the audience to come up and play a little game. There will be gifts after the game!" The host glanced around at the audience, deliberately whetting their appetite. "This is a rare opportunity. I wonder if anyone would like to come up?"

Tang Xin's eyes met the host's. Although she wanted to go up and join in, she was not one to seek attention. She was not used to being the center of attention. She just wanted to watch the fun and then leave. Therefore, she did not rush to raise her hands like many of the audience around her.

The host glanced towards the other side of the audience. "Everyone's so enthusiastic! But who is this lucky audience member?" She looked back and extended an invitation. "Let's welcome this young lady."

Everyone on and off the stage looked in unison, following the host's finger. Tang Xin remained frozen in place. Jin Taize, like everyone else, returned his gaze to Tang Xin, but then immediately returned his gaze to the host, his eyes flickering.

Tang Xin herself did not expect that she would be chosen by the host. After all, she did not raise her hand, and after all, she was just an inconspicuous one among so many enthusiastic audiences.

Unable to believe her own judgment, Tang Xin heard the host's affirmative answer again: "Yes, it's you, the beautiful lady in the white sweatshirt." After being stunned for a while, Tang Xin confirmed that she was the lucky one chosen. She didn't have time to say hello to Jin Taize, and walked onto the stage in a daze under everyone's attention.

After Tang Xin stood still, the host smiled gently and said, "It's an honor to have such a beautiful young lady here. Beautiful lady, could you please introduce yourself to everyone?"

Although she had experience lecturing, there was a huge difference between lecturing and speaking on stage. Lectures allowed her to share her prepared material, covering her professional expertise, which gave her a lot of confidence. But speaking on stage was a completely different matter. She didn't know what interactive games would be offered, and she felt a bit uneasy. Being in front of so many people, she still felt a bit nervous.

However, after the host handed her the microphone, she still responded calmly: "Hello everyone, hello host, my last name is Tang."

Tang Xin stood high up. Some of the audience members below were chatting while watching the interaction on stage. Some had left early because they weren't chosen. It seemed no one was particularly interested in the answers to the host's questions. Yet, amidst the throng of people, one man stood there, handsome and attentive, his gaze fixed on the stage. His direct gaze made Tang Xin feel a little hot.

Fortunately, the host's voice ended Tang Xin's distraction. "Ms. Tang's last name is particularly suitable for our dessert shop event today."

"Actually, we have prepared two games. One can be played by yourself, and the other can be completed with friends. Beauty, are you playing by yourself or with friends?" the host continued to ask.

Tang Xin recalled Jin Taize's expression of disdain for this marketing campaign and wondered whether he should bring it up. During this moment of hesitation, he noticed the gloomy expression on the handsome face in the audience. He definitely didn't want to be associated with such a frivolous activity, so it was better not to say anything.

Having made up her mind, she was about to speak when the astute host followed Tang Xin's gaze and looked down at the audience. Locking his eyes on Jin Taize, he asked with a smile, "I saw this beautiful woman looking down at someone in the audience. Is she here with this gentleman?"

This host really keeps bringing up things that are not related to the topic. It's no wonder that she brought him into this matter. It's impossible not to be exposed.

She could only fake a smile and say, "Yes." She would deal with it first. If the man surnamed Jin wanted to settle the score with her, she would have to step down first.

"Could you introduce this gentleman?" the host asked politely.

"Hmm..." Tang Xin hesitated. He probably didn't want to participate, but facing the host's questioning, she could only answer truthfully, "Mr. Jin."

"It seems Miss Tang is a little reluctant to introduce her to everyone," the host joked to liven up the atmosphere. The audience laughed, but Tang Xin's face flushed and paled. It was clear she was truly reluctant to introduce her, but what did reluctance have to do with that? Amidst the laughter, there was only one person in the audience, his face as red as a pot bottom, his eyes like knives, as if he wanted to rip Tang Xin into pieces.

The bright and charming host put away her smile and looked at the aloof Jin Taize below the stage. She playfully asked Tang Xin, "What's your relationship?"

Tang Xin had obviously not anticipated the host's question, and was clearly ill-prepared. After giving herself a moment to think, she glanced at the host awkwardly and said, "It's a friend."

"Oh. It's a friend. In fact, this small part of the game can also be completed with friends. Can you invite your friends up as well?" Although the host was asking Tang Xin, his eyes were fixed on Jin Taize in the audience.

Tang Xin couldn't keep up with the host's actions at all. She had seen that the man surnamed Jin was very indifferent to everyone else except Wei Qing, and his attitude towards her was mostly moody. Moreover, she had just said his name wrong, and she thought he would just walk away without paying any attention. So she was really worried about the host, wondering if she would be turned away.

Tang Xin looked at the man standing there coldly, and wanted to help the host out, so she smiled and said, "He's rather shy." She could only help the beautiful host up to this point, and also planned to make things right for herself later.

"You're a little shy, huh? That's okay, our game is simple," the host continued, patiently coaxing Jin Taize. "You can even help your friends win small prizes. Is this gentleman interested?"
