Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 48 Teacher Tang is upright

Still terrified, Tang Xin left Jin Taize's office. She breathed a long sigh of relief, recalling every conversation they had. She felt as if she were in a dream. Before entering his office, she'd considered countless possible outcomes, like being ordered by him to hand over the real culprit, or being fired, and so on. But she hadn't expected to be asked to continue pretending to be his girlfriend, and she'd agreed—in a daze! In short, as long as she was with Jin Taize, many things would be out of her control, so she had to stay away from dangerous objects. During their time together, she'd avoid him whenever possible, and once the mission was complete, she'd draw a clear line between them.

Pushing open the door of his office, the general manager came forward with concern and asked, "Xiao Tang, how are you doing? Didn't you get criticized?"

Tang Xin smiled and shook her head, "No, no, I just wanted to remind me to be on time."

The director rolled his eyes and said, "That's not bad."

"I'm sorry to have worried you, Director Wang." Tang Xin stuck out her tongue embarrassedly.

Director Wang smiled and said, "I'm glad you're alright. By the way, we need to get the display signs ready for the student environmental protection exhibition next week."

"Okay. I'll get started right away." Tang Xin made an OK gesture.

Even if the General Affairs Director guessed a thousand times, he probably wouldn't have guessed that the man surnamed Jin would make such a shocking request. But Tang Xin was happy that she finally didn't have to pretend to be Yu Shan anymore, no longer worried about being exposed by the man surnamed Jin. She could now be herself. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but smile, her mood brightening.

Taking the information about the environmental protection exhibition on a USB drive, she set off to a graphic arts store outside to make promotional posters.

After visiting several graphic design stores and comparing prices, she finally settled on the next one. After agreeing on a pickup time, Tang Xin checked her watch. It was 11:30. If she got back to school quickly, she'd still be able to make it to the cafeteria for lunch. It was then that she remembered she hadn't yet asked the guy named Jin for her lost meal card. That guy had truly messed with her thoughts and her life.

While the food in the cafeteria wasn't particularly delicious, it was priced relatively low for the convenience of the faculty and staff. A meal with both meat and vegetables was only 6 yuan. For Tang Xin, who had recently been practicing frugality, eating in the cafeteria was always a much better choice than buying something outside. To enjoy the cafeteria meal, Tang Xin rushed to school. The weather wasn't hot in late April, but a fine layer of sweat still formed on her forehead.

Fortunately, they arrived at the school just in time for lunch in the cafeteria. Tang Xin put down her backpack, picked up her lunch box and ran towards the cafeteria.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, Tang Xin saw An Qi also queuing for food. She trotted over and stood behind An Qi, tiptoeing to look ahead. "What's good to eat?"

"You're back. I just went to your office to ask you to have dinner together. Director Wang said you were out on business. I thought you wouldn't come back for dinner." An Qi said when she saw Tang Xin suddenly appear.

"I rushed back to have dinner with you." Tang Xin gently stroked An Qi's shoulder and pretended to be a little girl and joked with An Qi.

Angel pretended to be a lady, with her hands on her hips and eyes slightly closed. "Since you have done well, I forgive you."

As they were talking, it was Anqi and Tang Xin's turn. Anqi finished her meal first and went to find a seat to sit and wait for Tang Xin. Tang Xin was about to leave with her packed lunch box when she heard her colleagues who were chatting quietly suddenly quiet down. She saw a man who was much taller than the teachers in the queue coming slowly from the end of the line. His wheat-colored skin, perfect facial features, and upright posture made Tang Xin unable to take her eyes off him. Who else could this man be but Jin Taize? The colleagues kept calling out "Boss Jin", "Hello Boss Jin", "Boss Jin"... showing their tacit respect for the boss. The awkwardness after everyone greeted him and the furtive glances showed that they were clearly not mentally prepared for Jin Taize's arrival.

Tang Xin watched Jin Taize approaching little by little without blinking, not knowing what he was going to do. Every time she saw him, she was still habitually nervous, so nervous that her heart beat faster. She thought this was the so-called sequelae.

"I found a meal card. I wonder which teacher it belongs to?" Jin Taize asked seriously and politely, holding the card with a cartoon rabbit on it.

Tang Xin really wanted to roll her eyes at him. If he was such a talented actor, why didn't he apply to film school? "It's mine, President Jin." Tang Xin deliberately answered calmly.

I forgot to take my meal card to his office this morning. He could have just returned it quietly, but he had to make such a fuss and chase me to the cafeteria. But why hasn't he left yet? It seems like he doesn't spend time and energy managing this part of the school.

"It's yours," Jin Taize deliberately said in surprise, but he held the meal card in his hand and had no intention of returning it to Tang Xin immediately.

"Do we have to use meal cards to get food in the cafeteria?" Jin Taize looked towards the cafeteria window.

"Yes, yes." A teacher responded.

"Today is my first day at work and I don't have a meal card." Jin Taize seemed a little embarrassed.

"You eat first, we'll talk later." The aunt in charge of serving food in the cafeteria greeted Jin Taize kindly.

"That won't do," Jin Taize waved his hand, "Just do business."

"Use my card."

"Mine will do, too."

"And mine."

The colleagues behind me responded one after another and handed over their cards.

Seeing her colleagues' expressions, Tang Xin raised her thumb and index finger, quietly pinched the meal card in Jin Taize's hand, and gently pulled it back. With a lovely smile on her face, she said softly, "Boss Jin."

Jin Taize curled the corners of his lips, waiting for Tang Xin to lend him the meal card respectfully like everyone else.

"Then I'll take the card first. And you forgot to queue up." Tang Xin smiled.

Tang Xin, lunch box in hand, left her stunned colleagues behind and ran towards An Qi, who seemed to have paused. Watching the conversation between Tang Xin and her boss, An Qi, who was munching on a chicken drumstick, froze in mid-sentence with her mouth wide open.

Jin Taize's face behind him instantly dropped from room temperature to freezing point, but a few seconds later, he slightly tilted his face, and the tip of his tongue couldn't help but gently bite his lower lip. He narrowed his deep eyes slightly, shook his head in self-deprecation, and looked at the person who was walking away with a smile - she didn't tie her hair into a ponytail today, and her hair was draped softly in front of her, but her smile was as innocent as before.
