Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 316 Past Events

There was no other way. Not wanting to run around any more, Teacher Tang made up his mind to take away all the express deliveries at once, even if it meant death.

So, when she staggered out of the post office holding a large stack of express packages that were almost as high as her head, the people who went to pick up the packages all looked at her with a stunned expression.

I walked to the downstairs of her house with difficulty, and just as I was about to go up the stairs, the small box on the top floor couldn't hold on any longer and fell down.

Just when Tang Xin was worried that she couldn't squat down to pick it up, she saw a hand gently pick up the box on the ground. Tang Xin poked her head out from behind a pile of express boxes and was about to thank the kind-hearted person for his help with a smile, but before she could say anything, she saw the person coming and the word "thank you" got stuck in her throat.

"Can you give me a few minutes?" The man cautiously asked Tang Xin for his opinion.

Tang Xin thought that the last meeting would be the last time she and Cheng Ran would see each other, but unexpectedly, Cheng Ran would appear downstairs of her house not long after.

Although she didn't know what else Cheng Ran could say or wanted to say, Tang Xin understood that since he had come to her on purpose, she couldn't avoid him.

"Wait a moment, I'll put the things upstairs." Tang Xin said calmly.

"let me help you."

Tang Xin dodged Cheng Ran's outstretched arm and said, "It's okay. I can handle it myself."

Looking at his hand frozen in mid-air, Cheng Ran withdrew it awkwardly. Although the girl didn't say it directly, how could he not hear that she didn't want to let him in at all.

"Okay, I'll wait for you in the car." Cheng Ran's voice tightened and he could only settle for the second best.

A few minutes later, Cheng Ran opened the passenger door for Tang Xin.

Tang Xin hesitated for a moment and said, "If you have anything to say, just talk about it here."

"It's hot outside. Can we talk in the car?" The girl looked so distant that Cheng Ran's gentle voice was filled with a kind of broken pain.

After hearing what he said, Tang Xin stepped into the car and tried to appear calm. "What's going on?"

"Do you want to hear about a man's growth experience?" Cheng Ran smiled bitterly with a sense of loss.

Tang Xin didn't know why he suddenly brought up this topic, but before she could reply, Cheng Ran had already started talking.

"More than 20 years ago, the domestic economy was experiencing rapid growth, with various sectors of the real economy and private economy competing for development. Some private economies emerged amidst these turbulent changes, and in this era when heroes are made by the times, many entrepreneurs made a fortune. Of course, many young people who wanted to change their destiny also moved from small towns to big cities. One girl was one of these dream-seeking people.

"The girl was introduced to a very famous factory and went to work. Although the assembly line work was hard and the salary was not high, it was still much better than her previous job in the county. Moreover, the bright lights and glamorous life in the big city made her more and more addicted to it.

"Because of her outstanding appearance, the girl was known as the 'flower girl' in the factory. By chance, she met the factory owner during a company leader's inspection.

"She was young and beautiful, and the company boss fell in love with her at first sight. He then launched a vigorous pursuit of her. However, the age difference of more than 20 years between them was difficult for people of that era to accept. Although she was also attracted by the boss's maturity and stability, she was also very hesitant at first.

"How could a girl from a small county town have such fortitude? After the boss lavished money on her and gave her all kinds of expensive gifts, she finally understood what the world of the rich was like. Faced with the onslaught of jewelry, she finally got together with the boss.

"Six months later, she became pregnant. When she told her boss, she discovered he was already married. Of course, he couldn't marry her, but he promised her a comfortable life. She had grown accustomed to not having to worry about money for six months. If she broke up with him, she'd have to go back to her old, hard-working life, struggling to make ends meet. She didn't want that, so despite the superior material conditions, she chose to give up her status and gave birth to the child. Naturally, she became an unmarried mother, and the child became illegitimate."
