The Legend of the Princess' Counterattack

Chapter 3 Exploring the Palace

Yun Yao took a deep breath, stepped out of her humble residence, and began her journey of exploring the palace.

She walked along the winding corridor. The bluestone pavement under her feet exuded an ancient atmosphere, as if telling the former glory of the palace.

There are some faded murals painted on the walls on both sides of the corridor. The pictures are blurry, but you can tell that they are scenes from myths and legends. Perhaps they are closely related to the cultivation culture of this world.

She passed by a garden. Although the flowers and plants in the garden were lush, they lacked signs of careful care and looked a bit messy.

A few people who looked like gardeners were talking in low voices in the corner. When they saw Yun Yao coming, they just glanced at her quickly and continued with their own topic, their eyes full of indifference.

Yun Yao walked around the garden and found some strange flowers and plants. Their shapes and colors were completely different from the plants she had seen in modern times. She guessed that these flowers and plants might have special uses, and perhaps they were materials for cultivators to make elixirs or runes.

Continuing walking forward, Yun Yao arrived at the palace's library.

The library is a two-story wooden building with a closed door. The steps at the entrance are covered with dust and it looks like no one has been there for a long time.

Yun Yao gently pushed the door, and the door hinge made a creaking sound and slowly opened.

There was a smell of old paper in the air, and the bookshelves were filled with various books, but most of them were covered with dust.

Yun Yao searched carefully in the library, hoping to find some clues about the secrets of this world or the palace.

However, she found that most of the books here were poems, songs and historical texts, which were of little help to her current situation.

After leaving the library, Yun Yao came to the martial arts training ground of the palace. There were various weapons on the training ground, including knives, guns, swords, halberds, etc., which flashed coldly in the sun.

Several guards from the palace were practicing martial arts. When they saw Yun Yao coming, they stopped practicing with a hint of disdain in their eyes.

One of the guards said sarcastically, "Princess, why do you have time to come here? This is not a place for you to come. Be careful not to hurt your delicate body."

Yun Yao ignored his ridicule and walked towards the weapons, observing them carefully.

She found that the texture and craftsmanship of these weapons were extremely exquisite, and some were even engraved with mysterious runes, which made her even more curious about the cultivation culture of this world.

During the exploration, Yun Yao also encountered some blocked areas. The doors of those places were closed, and there was a mysterious atmosphere around them, as if they were hiding huge secrets.

Yun Yao tried to get closer, but was stopped by the guards. The guards drove her away like a fly, saying some unpleasant words.

Although Yun Yao was a little angry, she knew that now was not the time to argue with them. She secretly took note of these places and planned to find an opportunity to explore them again in the future.

When she walked to a secluded corner, she suddenly heard a melodious piano sound.

Yun Yao walked in the direction of the piano sound and found a small pavilion. Inside the pavilion, a woman was sitting and playing the piano.

When the woman saw Yun Yao coming, she raised her head slightly, with a hint of surprise and vigilance in her eyes.

Yun Yao greeted her politely and asked who she was. The woman claimed to be the prince's cousin and came to stay in the palace for a while.

The two of them exchanged a few brief sentences, and Yun Yao felt that this woman seemed to be on guard against her, and she had a mysterious aura. Yun Yao guessed that she might also have some connection with the cultivators.

Yun Yao continued to move around the palace. She found that the layout of the palace was very complicated, as if it was built according to some kind of formation or feng shui principles.

She used her modern knowledge to try to analyze the layout of the palace, but due to her limited understanding of this world, she could only come to some preliminary conclusions.

During this process, she constantly encountered difficulties and obstacles from the servants. Some deliberately pointed her in the wrong direction, and some deliberately soiled her clothes when she passed by, but Yun Yao dealt with them skillfully. She knew that in this unfamiliar environment, she had to stay calm and rational in order to survive better.

While exploring the palace, Yun Yao did discover some clues about this world.

In addition to the rune-marked weapons and flowers and plants that looked like materials for cultivation that she had seen before, she also found some strange stones in an abandoned room.

These stones emit a faint light and have unique patterns. Yun Yao thinks they might be some kind of cultivation mineral.

In addition, she also heard the servants occasionally mention some rumors about the cultivation sects and powerful cultivators, which made her more interested in the cultivation system of this world. She knew that if she wanted to gain a foothold in this world, she must deeply understand the world of cultivators and master powerful power.
