Man in the Ark: Revitalizing Kazdel

Chapter 95 Teacher and Student

"Mr. Roy, weren't you out? Why are you here?" Mudstone took the mud ball from Roy's hand and asked in a low voice.

"I've finished my work and came back to rest for a while. I came to see you. How's your life been lately? Are you used to it?"

"Hmm..." Mudstone nodded slightly, "Compared to the life of hiding as a mercenary, life here is much better."

"That's good." Roy noticed that Mudstone didn't seem to be very good at communicating with people. He wondered if it was because of wearing armor for a long time.

Even though she has taken off her armor now, her way of speaking still retains her low voice and slow speech.

"By the way, what's the name of this Miss Letania?" Roy was quite interested in his new roommate, Mud Rock. He actually accepted the mud figures that Mud Rock made all over the floor of the dormitory.

"Just call me Mary, Mr. Roy." Miss Mary gave Roy a standard Leitania greeting.

After a brief conversation, Roy learned that during his absence, the members of the mercenary team, under Mudstone's introduction, decided to follow the captain and join the Tower of Babel. Miss Mary was one of them.

Miss Mary told Roy about the interesting things that happened recently when she lived with Mudstone, including that Mudstone would whisper to his magical creations late at night and that he was always making clay figures in the dormitory recently.

It seems that she is a very talkative person. I hope Mudstone can become more cheerful under her influence.

Roy squatted down, reached out and picked up the clay figure that Mudstone had just made, closed his eyes and felt the magic texture in it.

Mudstone lowered her head and looked towards Roy. The ball of mud in her hand was kneaded into a mess, like a student whose homework was suddenly checked by the teacher.

Seeing Roy frowning slightly, a hint of nervousness appeared on Mudstone's face, and Mary patted her shoulder from behind to encourage her.

"Well... compared to your previous magical creations, it's a great improvement." Roy affirmed Mudstone's hard work.

Mudstone let out a barely perceptible breath, and his tense little face relaxed.

"But I still can't create such a powerful creature like you." Mudstone looked at the twisted pair of wings behind the clay man, his tone filled with distress.

"But haven't you already left your mercenary status? Why do you still pursue powerful strength so much?" Roy didn't understand why Mudstone did this.

"During the time I was away from Kazdel, I traveled to many places. People there were very prejudiced against the Sarkaz. They called us demons and attacked us with weapons, wanting to drive us out of their land."

"Now that I have returned to the land that belongs to the Sarkaz, I hope I can have enough power to drive out those who attempt to invade this land." Mudstone lowered his eyes, but his tone was firm.

It was because she had seen too much hostility and hatred towards the Sarkaz in other countries that she cherished the land of Kazdel so much.

She hopes to have a strong power to protect herself, her companions, and her homeland...

"Well... I'm glad that you have such awareness. How about this, I will stay in Rhodes Island for the next period of time. If you need any help, you can ask me for help in teaching you spells."

Roy cast a spell to quickly shape the mud ball in his hand. A pair of small wings grew out from the back of the clay figure, flapping continuously, and gently fell into Mudstone's hand.

Mudstone tilted her head and looked at the clay figure in her hand. As a user of earth and stone magic, she could feel it clearly.

Compared with Roy, he seemed extremely immature both in terms of spell strength and precision.

"Teacher Roy, thank you for your willingness to guide me." Mudstone bent down to express his gratitude to Roy.

Mudstone didn't know what was so special about herself that deserved the Demon King's personal guidance, but she was still very grateful that he was willing to teach her.

"Well, I see you are practicing shaping wings with mud, so I'll teach you this first." Roy helped the leaning Mud Rock up, grabbed a new ball of mud from the bucket beside him, and handed it to her.

"Start with the bigger ones first, and then try the smaller ones once you are proficient in them. Cast the spell now, and I will see if there is any problem."

"Hmm..." Mud Rock nodded obediently, and cast a spell in his hand to shape the mud ball. The shaping of the human figure went smoothly, but Mud Rock was obviously struggling with the wings.

Roy saw that Mudstone was in trouble, and it was time for him, as his teacher, to take action.

He placed his hands over Mudstone's spellcasting hands, helping her channel the spell.

The moment Roy touched Mudstone's hand, he felt as if he had been electrocuted. He tried to pull his hand back in a panic, but Roy stopped him.

"Don't be nervous. I am guiding you in casting the spell. Feel the flow of the spell with your heart."

Mudstone usually interacted with the opposite sex through thick armor. Now that he had just started to get used to taking off his armor and moving around, he was touched so closely by Roy that he didn't know how to react for a moment.

Fortunately, after Roy's reminder, Mud Rock gradually calmed down and concentrated on feeling the flow of the spell. The rudiments of wings began to appear behind the clay figures in the hands of the two people.

But Mudstone was still a little shy and didn't dare to look Roy directly in the eye. However, he still stole a glance at him from time to time, and the tips of his ears that revealed his white hair had already turned red.

Miss Mary, who was sitting cross-legged in the warm bed at this time, couldn't hide a smile when she saw Mudstone's cute reaction.

“I wonder what the other members of the team will look like when they see the captain like this.”

"But this Mr. Roy is really just like the rumors say, a playboy."

Unlike Mudstone, who often stays in the dormitory to study spells, Miss Mary often talks with other people on the ship to learn about the organization Babel Tower and the current situation in Kazdel.

After all, she is a foreigner...

During this process, she heard a lot of gossip about the Demon King Roy.

For example, he has close relationships with many women, including another demon king in the Sarkaz - Princess Theresa, and the famous black and white doctor duo in the medical department - Miss Shining and Miss Nightingale.

According to the captain, these two were responsible for the treatment of her Originium disease.

I hope Mr. Roy and the captain are just in a teacher-student relationship. Otherwise, with the captain's dull look, how can he compete with those guys?

Thinking of this, Miss Mary sighed deeply. She was really worried about the captain.

With Roy's guidance, Mud Rock successfully shaped a magical flying clay figure, but he was not very skilled in controlling it. Not long after the clay figure flew up, it fell headfirst and was about to fall to the ground.

Roy and Mud Rock both subconsciously reached out and bent over to pick it up, but the Mud Rock failed to pick it up and their heads hit each other heavily.

Because the horns of both men extended straight up from behind their ears, shaped like small swords, so during the collision, Roy and Mudstone's horns rubbed against each other, and the rustling sound was transmitted to the brain through the bones, which was extremely clear.

A strange feeling followed. Roy's tail, which hung naturally behind him, straightened instantly, and the sharp scales wrapped around it also stood up.

Roy's weaknesses are his tail and horns, which are the extra body parts he gained after coming to Terra.

He is fine if he cleans and maintains himself on a daily basis, but once he is suddenly touched by someone, he will enter a state similar to that of a cat with its fur standing on end.

Mudstone wasn't feeling well either. After her close contact with Roy, her mind had been full of random thoughts. Her lack of concentration caused the clay man to lose control and fall.

Now, after colliding with Roy, the slight pain and the friction sound of the two horns impacted Mudstone's limited rationality.

Fortunately, the sound of the clay man falling to the ground woke the two men up. Roy took a few steps back to calm down his excessive body's instinctive reaction.

Mudstone also came to his senses, lowered his head and quickly picked up the clay figure, and apologized to Roy repeatedly.

"Teacher, I'm sorry...Are you okay..."

Roy shook his head. "I'm fine. How about you? I hope you're not hurt."

"I'm fine, this is the one that's broken." Mudstone showed Roy the clay figure that had been smashed into pieces, and it returned to its state before being molded.

There was a hint of loss in Mudstone's low voice. After all, this was her first successful product.

"It's okay, at worst we can do it again."

Hearing Roy say that he wanted to do it again, Mud Rock waved his hands and said, "No... No, it's getting late. Teacher, go back and rest first. I will practice some more by myself."

Roy turned his head and glanced at the clock on the wall. He found that it was indeed getting late and he had to go back and take a shower.

So he said goodbye to Mudstone and Mary and turned to leave their dormitory.

Mudstone looked at the ball of mud in his hand, wondering what he was thinking.
