Man in the Ark: Revitalizing Kazdel

Chapter 71 Answers to Questions

Going back in time, shortly after Roy jumped out of the window and left the room, Eve pushed open the door and walked in with her head down.

"Mr. Roy, the Maharaja invites you to dinner, you..." When Eve finished speaking and looked up, she discovered.

The room was empty, with only the wide-open window in sight. The cold mountain breeze blew in through the window, blowing the dark knitted curtains high up.

"Hey, where is Mr. Roy?" Eve looked around the room, but couldn't find Roy. Just as she was about to close the window, a note on the desk by the window caught her attention.

The note was held down by the cup filled with water, so it was not blown away by the wind. Eve pulled out the note, which was written in Roy's scribbled handwriting.

"I have to go out for something and will be back soon." - Roy

"When did Mr. Roy go out? I didn't hear the door opening." Eve tilted her head and recalled for a while, making sure that she definitely didn't hear anyone leaving the castle.

The note in her hand was blown by the wind, and a slight chill came over her face. Looking at the brightly lit tribe land below, Eve thought of a possibility.

"Could Mr. Roy have jumped out of the window?... Why did he jump out of the window instead of going through the front door?" Eve couldn't understand Roy's behavior at all.

Thinking of this possibility, Eve gave up the idea of closing the window, turned around and took the note to report to Ducare.

But just as Eve turned around, Ducare pushed the door open.

He quickly glanced around the room and found that Roy was not there, only Eve holding a note in her hand.

"Eve, what's going on, isn't Roy here?"

"Your Majesty, Mr. Roy said he had to go out for something and will be back later. This is the note left by Mr. Roy." Eve handed the note to Dukare.

Dukare looked at the almost incomprehensible handwriting and the corners of his mouth twitched.

"Okay, then you stay here and wait for him to come back..." Ducare put the note back into his jacket pocket, turned and left.

"Yes, Lord, I understand." After receiving Ducare's order, Eve slowly walked to the desk and sat down, randomly pulling out a book from the bookshelf and began to read it casually.

At this time, Roy fell in love with the feeling of flying at night. There were no reference objects, no glaring sunlight, and he could fly up and down at will.

Just like a bat, it relies solely on sensing the location of the Sarkaz to determine the direction of flight.

The night wind whistled past his ears, and his clothes were rustling. Roy didn't care about it, he just wanted to enjoy the freedom at this moment.

The return journey always went by so quickly, and Roy soon saw the castle halfway up the mountain.

He aimed skillfully, slowed down, passed through the window, and landed gently in the room. If you ignore the clothes that were a little messy due to the wind, this is definitely a textbook-level perfect landing.

Eve, who was so bored that she was a little sleepy, was awakened by the wind created by Roy flying in.

When he saw that it was Roy who came back, he quickly stood up and greeted him: "Mr. Roy, you are back!"

"Eve, why are you here?"

"Mr. Roy, it's the Maharaja who wants to invite you to dinner. Since you're not here, let me wait for you here." Eve explained to Roy why she was here.

"Okay, I understand. Please go out for a moment, I'll change my clothes first."

"Okay." Eve closed the door when she left and stood quietly at the door.

Roy quickly changed his clothes and followed Eve to find Ducare.

As a wooden door opened, Roy saw Ducare sitting elegantly at the end of the long table with a glass of scarlet liquid in his hand.

There were exquisite tableware on the table, and a cup was placed near Roy.

Roy didn't care whether the liquid in the cup was blood or wine. He just wanted to know why Dukare wanted to see him, and it was definitely not as simple as having dinner together.

Eve brought Roy to the back and walked out with her head down. The next part was not something she could participate in.

Dukare put down the wine glass in his hand and said softly: "Roy, now that everyone is here, please sit down. The banquet will begin soon."

As soon as he finished speaking, two teams of maids walked out from the shadows of the room and brought the dishes on the trays in their hands to the table.

They moved quickly, and after finishing their job of serving the food, they disappeared back into the shadows.

Roy pulled out the chair in front of him and sat down. He looked up at Ducare and found that he had no intention of speaking.

So Roy chose to take the initiative: "Dukare, do you have something to talk to me about?"

"I do have something to ask you, but let's wait until we finish enjoying the food in front of us." Ducare raised his glass to Roy.

"Yeah, you're right." Roy also raised his glass and took a sip.

The cup contained not blood but wine.

The two didn't talk much during the whole dinner, just simple exchanges.

Because the really important things are still to come.

As the two of them put down their cutlery almost at the same time, the maid came forward again to clean the table and served some fruit after the meal.

Ducare's relaxed expression turned serious, and his scarlet eyes fell between Roy's corners.

"Roy, I have always had a question in my mind. In order to get the answer to the question, I was so eager to get the black crown that I even killed some incompetent crown owners."

"Even so, the crown still did not appear on my head, and I never got the answer."

"Now I want to get the answer to a question from you, which is - what did you see after you received this crown?"

Ducare has always wondered what his brother saw after he won the crown that made him make such a big change.

Not only my brother, but also some demon kings in history would have a huge change in temperament before and after they got the crown. Most of them would go from being radical to being weak, avoiding war and begging for peace.

Instead of using the power of the Demon King to start a war and take back what the Sarkaz lost, Dukare couldn't understand it at all.

Roy listened to Ducare's question quietly, and after a little thought, he gave his answer.

"Because this crown represents survival, not war, not destruction, and not absolute power. Since the first generation of the Demon King, the meaning of the crown to the Sarkaz race has always been survival."

"This is what Theresa and I have been doing. We are not against war. War is only a means to achieve the goal of survival, not the goal of survival. If we blindly seek war, the Sarkaz will only burn out in the war."

After getting the answer, Dukare did not speak, but smiled bitterly, then picked up the cup in front of him and drank the wine in it. Then he filled another cup and drank it all.

Finally, he drank directly from the bottle, and the scarlet liquid flowed from the corners of his mouth and dripped onto his collar.

Dukare had never thought about the answer he had been looking for. His brother had actually told him a long time ago, but he just didn't want to believe it.
