Man in the Ark: Revitalizing Kazdel
Chapter 63 Amiya's Gift
After an unknown amount of time, Roy finally caught up with the Rhode Island from behind.
In his hand he held the piece of pure source stone that had failed to be purified. After releasing a large amount of energy, the entire stone had turned gray.
Hearing the noise, the doctor looked up and found Roy walking towards him.
"Roy, you're back. How's the Originium?" the doctor asked in a low voice.
"It's become like this." Roy came and sat down next to the doctor, placing the gray-white Originium on the table.
"Doctor, do you have anything to explain about this dangerous thing?" Roy crossed his arms and looked at the doctor with a scrutinizing look.
"Roy, I'm sorry. I was wrong..." The doctor's face was full of guilt, and he didn't dare to look up and look Roy in the eyes.
If Roy hadn't reacted quickly, everyone present would have been in danger.
I might be fine, but Roy and Amiya...
Thinking of what happened to the porthole and the wall just now, the doctor held Amiya's hand tightly.
"Doctor, since you already know you are wrong, you must accept the punishment."
As he spoke, Roy stretched out his hands to the doctor, pressed the doctor's temple with the joints of his index fingers, and began to rotate them with a slight force.
"Hmm..." The doctor was worried about waking up Amiya, so he could only bite his lip and endure it silently.
Luckily, Roy quickly changed his method of punishment, and moved his hands down to pinch the Doctor's cheeks, kneading them.
Well, it feels good.
"Doctor, if you want to study Originium in the future, you must be well prepared. Don't be so reckless as you were this time. Got it?"
The doctor, whose face was pinched, mumbled incoherently: "I...know...it..."
"Well, I'll let you go this time." Roy withdrew his hand reluctantly, and then put the gray-white source stone back into the small space.
Although it is not dangerous now, Roy still chooses to keep it with him for safety reasons.
"Doctor, do you remember anything about the white transparent Originium in your memory?" Roy still cared about that Originium.
"I can't remember a lot of things. I only remember that I was once the creator of Originium, but it has become a little strange now. That transparent Originium needs to be placed in a special instrument, otherwise it will be like what happened just now..."
The doctor told Roy some memories about the Originium, but unfortunately, the doctor did not choose to reveal the most crucial thing to Roy. In her opinion, this was not something that modern civilization should touch.
"Forget it, it's fine if you don't remember..." Roy waved his hand. He was used to the Doctor's confused memory and Kal'tsit's riddles. Instead of forcing them to answer, it would be better to wait for them to speak when they wanted to.
"Thank you..." The Doctor breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Roy was willing to believe him.
The Rhodes Island landship slowly slowed down. It was sending a docking request to Kazdel City, but the docking port in the city was busy, so Rhodes Island could only wait in line.
Perhaps the vibration of the ship and the roar of the engine had disappeared, and the change in environment woke Amiya up.
Amiya raised her head from the doctor's arms, squinted her eyes and said dazedly: "Doctor, is Mr. Roy back?"
"Little Amiya, I'm here." Roy stretched out his hand to Amiya's ear and gently stroked it, helping her to wake up quickly from her dazed state.
This trick was indeed very effective. Amiya's eyes widened and her ears caused her body to tremble a few times.
"Mr. Roy, please don't touch my ears..." Amiya crawled out of the doctor's arms, hid on the other side away from Roy, and looked at Roy with puffed cheeks.
"Okay, Amiya. Don't you have a gift for Mr. Roy? Go get it." The doctor touched Amiya's head and helped her tidy up her messy hair.
"Yes! Mr. Roy, please wait a moment, I'll be back soon." After the doctor's reminder, Amiya remembered that she still had a gift for Roy.
Amiya quickly put on her little cotton shoes and walked away with her short legs.
"Amiya is really energetic, that's how children should be." Roy couldn't help but think of the Sarkaz children he saw in Kazdel City. They have now started working in some factories to earn the pitiful wages.
It won’t be long before they can do what they should do at their age, just like Amiya.
They can go to school and play with a few friends without worrying about hunger and war.
"Well, ever since Originium disease was cured, Amiya told me that she wanted to learn medical knowledge. She said that there are still so many infected people suffering in this land, and one day, she wants them to be able to receive treatment like herself."
The doctor felt a little proud when she said this. In her eyes, Amiya was like her daughter. She was very happy that Amiya had such a great ideal.
"This road is not that easy...but I will support her." Roy turned to look at the doctor and made his promise.
"Me too." The Doctor also expressed his support for Amiya.
Amiya came back soon, holding a box in her hand and gently placed it in front of Roy.
"Mr. Roy, please open it and take a look."
The box was opened, revealing a notebook with three little people holding hands on the cover.
Roy picked up the notebook, the doctor came over curiously, and Amiya got between the two of them.
Pointing to the little man on the cover, he said, "This is the doctor, this is me, and this is Mr. Roy..."
Roy and the Doctor looked at each other and smiled awkwardly.
Opening the first page, it was filled with Amiya's gratitude to Roy. The writing was simple but sincere.
Keep scrolling down, and you will see the future that Amiya has sketched out with her brush, including the Doctor, Theresa, Amiya's deceased parents, Kal'tsit, and everyone in the medical department...
The notebook was not thick, but Roy could see how much thought Amiya put into this gift.
"Amiya, I like this gift very much. I will cherish it." Roy carefully put the notebook back into the box and resealed it.
"Hehe... It's great that Mr. Roy likes this gift. I was struggling over what gift to give you. In the end, it was the Doctor who helped me make the decision. She said you would probably like it." Amiya smiled shyly.
"Amiya spent a lot of time drawing this, and sometimes she even fell asleep while drawing." The doctor recalled that period of time.
She was doing research and Amiya was drawing. Sometimes when she turned around, she could see Amiya lying on the table. Worried that Amiya might catch a cold, the doctor often prepared a blanket for Amiya to cover her.
"Amiya, gifts are used to express feelings. As long as the intention is there, it's fine. Don't force yourself too much."
"Okay, I understand..." Amiya nodded and replied obediently.
Roy spent the whole morning playing with Amiya, and there were some exciting activities, such as taking Amiya to fly for five minutes to overlook Kazdel City from above.
He used earth and stone magic to build a huge slide on the deck of Rhodes Island, and slid down it while holding Amiya.
Amiya and Roy had a lot of fun, and finally pulled the Doctor in, scaring him so much that he let out an indescribable evil scream.
