Man in the Ark: Revitalizing Kazdel

Chapter 503 Return Journey, Awakening

On the spacious upper deck of Rhodes Island, two figures leaned against each other, sitting intimately on a lounge chair.

“We can already see Kazdel. It’s strange, it’s only been a month since I left, but it feels like a long time has passed.” Theresa leaned her head on Roy’s shoulder, a gentle breeze caressing her face and ruffling her long pink hair.

"It's probably because it's the first time we've been away from Kazdel and to a foreign country, so we're not used to it yet. We'll organize an overseas trip every year from now on, and we'll gradually get used to it."

"A trip once a year?" Hearing this suggestion, Theresa's eyes lit up; she was clearly quite interested. However, she quickly realized a harsh reality: who should take over the work that belonged to both of them?

"Therefore, we must help those outstanding young people grow up as quickly as possible, become capable of standing on their own, and jointly support Kazdel. The future belongs to the young people. When you go back, assign them more work and train them well." Roy's face was serious, and his words were full of trust and expectations for the young people.

"Is that really the case?" Theresa raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on her lips. As the person who knew Roy best, she knew there must be other reasons behind this decision.

“Of course!” Roy faced the questions without flinching, responding calmly. His tone shifted, becoming serious again. “Actually, there are other reasons. I need to devote more energy to the Doctor’s affairs.”

Following the Far North incident, Roy's assessment of Precys's danger level rapidly increased to the point where increased surveillance was necessary.

As the creator of the Originium, her attitude towards this land and the Terra civilization is vastly different from that of ordinary people; her actions cannot be predicted using common sense. Perhaps we should consult the Doctor more on the issue of Precys.

"You've worked hard. If you encounter a situation that you can't solve, don't try to shoulder it all alone. Speak up, and you'll always find a solution."

The long-destroyed pre-civilization hides too many secrets, and even with the help of the Doctor and Kal'tsit, Theresa is still somewhat worried about Roy's safety.

"Don't worry, if something really happened, how could I hide it from you?" Roy smiled slightly. Their close relationship made it impossible and unnecessary for them to hide anything from each other.

"Hmph..." Hearing Roy's reply, Theresa gave a satisfied hum and tightened her grip on his arm.

......

"Doctor, we've arrived. Friston is waiting for us outside." Rhodes Island docked at Kazdel's port. Precyth walked briskly to the Doctor and Kal'tsit with his hands behind his back.

As the three of them walked out of Rhode Island, Friston stood next to an SUV and waved to them. Another person stood beside him.

“Let’s go, we’re ready to open the sarcophagus.” Roy opened the car door for the three of them and then sat in the passenger seat. Friston got into the driver’s seat, stepped on the gas, and drove away from the city, heading towards the underground base where the sarcophagus was located.

At some point, this calm and insightful neuroscientist developed a fondness for driving across the wilderness. Perhaps this activity allowed him to rediscover the thrill of a racing heart that he experienced before becoming a Preservator.

The off-road vehicle descended into the depths of the underground base via elevator, and the group traversed a narrow alloy corridor. As the last alloy door opened, the massive and complex sarcophagus facility was shrouded in a light, chilling mist.

"let's start."
