Man in the Ark: Revitalizing Kazdel
Chapter 484 The True Angel
As the two stepped into the dimly lit space behind the door, the cold, quietly operating machine on the central platform seemed to have a switch flipped. A small fragment detached from its original body, quickly melted and reformed, and a black and red halo floated on the control panel.
"Visitor detected, project name DWDB-221E. Interactive simulation permission, granted. Underlying data area permission, granted. PCS permission granted, access permitted..."
"Visitor, please step forward now. PCS will synchronize the necessary preliminary information with you."
The mechanical sound echoed in the room. It was steady and uniform, devoid of any emotional fluctuation, and even lacked any discernible gender, yet it contained an indescribable sense of oppression.
"This is PCS, the Personality and Cognition Synchronization System." As Roy climbed the steel stairs to the platform, he looked up and carefully examined the cold and enormous machine, marveling at the unique engineering beauty of this pre-civilization creation.
The more you explore—the underground sarcophagus complex of the Preservers, the stargate on the ice plains, the underwater laboratory of the Deep Blue Tree, the core area of Rhodes Island—the more you encounter them, the more you understand. Mysterious and unknown things always attract people to actively seek them out.
"Compared to what you call a system of synchronized personality and cognition, the Sarkaz prefer to call it 'the Law.' The Law bestows upon us an aura and empathy, establishes orderly and stable cities, and makes us one of the most unique races on this land..."
"The law watches over every Sarkaz, yet our understanding of it remains remarkably limited. Your presence offers us an unprecedented opportunity—an opportunity to truly understand the law..."
Pope Lateran explained softly, gently lifting the halo floating on the control panel with both hands and handing it to Roy. "The law will synchronize information through the halo; please wear it."
“Hmm.” Roy reached out his hand toward the halo, and the halo that was touched seemed to intentionally avoid the access point of “the continuation of civilization” and chose to shrink its diameter to become a bracelet.
"Visitor connected, information synchronization to begin in five seconds. Five! Four! Three..." The cold, mechanical prompts rang out, and the PCS system sped up, with Roy able to clearly feel the vibrations beneath his feet.
As the entire platform trembled, a massive amount of data flooded into his mind. The scene before him rapidly rewound, the timeline returning to ten thousand years ago, to the day the PCS system was awakened by the Terran lifeforms.
Violent lightning raged through the leaden clouds, and howling winds whipped up small pebbles from the ground.
A ferocious monster, with sharp horns and claws, crawled along the distant mountain ridge.
Behind it, dozens of similar-sized monsters shoved each other, growled, and trudged restlessly in their leader's footprints.
The harsh natural environment drove this group, which had long suffered from food shortages, to the brink of death. The leader, despite his aging and weakened body, led the group to continue their journey.
The tribe chief entrusted her with the task of finding something in the Silver Mountains and bringing it back to Kazdel. Bearing the chief's respect and trust, she embarked on a perilous journey and has persevered to this day through sheer willpower.
The monster leader struggled to the top of the mountain, where a silver machine slumbering in the desolate valley came into view. She turned to look at her companions, her bloodshot eyes flashing with despair and pain.
There were no signs of life in the valley, which meant there was no food, and all of them would starve to death here unless they reverted to the barbaric custom of cannibalism.
"No matter what, we must complete the task assigned by the leader!" Having made his decision, the leader roared, his voice conveying the message: "Eat! Survive!"
Just as the monsters in the group hesitated to obey their leader's orders, a beam of light suddenly shot into the sky from the slumbering machine in the valley. The ferocious monsters grew halos and wings of light, and the leading monster no longer crawled; she stood up, and her black skin peeled off, fluttering like snowflakes.
With each step she took, her form became clearer, until she transformed into a completely new species.
"The origin of Sarkaz is actually Tikaz, who accidentally awakened the PCS system..." Roy, who witnessed the whole thing from a third-person perspective, really didn't expect this outcome.
"Heh... I should have known better. Why do fallen angels grow Sarkaz horns and tails? Why does a child like Cecilia, a hybrid of Sarkaz and Sarkaz, exist...?"
After learning the truth, some previously incomprehensible phenomena suddenly seemed reasonable. It turned out that the Sarkaz and Sarkaz were originally the same race ten thousand years ago.
Thinking of the hatred between the two races that would last for thousands of years, Roy couldn't help but sigh softly. The monsters that had grown wings and halos suddenly looked up in Roy's direction, then lowered their heads deeply on all fours.
For them, that direction was the direction of their homeland, Kazdel, a place they could never return to.
The scene from ten thousand years ago is frozen here, the world collapses inward from a certain point until everything returns to darkness.
The ocean of Originium stretches to the horizon. Anyone who gazes upon it will soon realize that all observation is meaningless. When everything within sight is indistinguishable, one doesn't even know where to place one's gaze.
However, this unique sight was not unfamiliar to Roy, who had entered the Originium Ocean more than once.
However, at this very moment, on this vast ocean where all things are one, something still shines distinctly.
It was as if the Originium Sea had merged into a river flowing backwards towards the sky at its end, with countless Originium fragments rising from the sea surface and drifting orderly towards the empty distance.
They are sharp and varied in shape, some as small as dust, others as large as stars, but without exception, they all carry a glimmer of light.
A ring of faint light.
Roy's gaze fell on the ring of faint light, and a brief message entered his mind. It was an alien script, clearly different from the language of previous civilizations; he couldn't understand it, yet he could grasp the meaning it intended to convey.
When the Creator descends, when all things will sink into this ocean before us, into stillness, uniformity, and utter meaninglessness...
We can still exist and shine forever as angels.
We drift, just as we drift between the past and the future.
We flicker, just as we flicker between reality and nothingness.
Angels have no beginning and no end; angels neither increase nor decrease; angels are neither born nor die.
"Is this still the angel I know? Could this be the ultimate form of an angel?" Roy was deeply shocked by the description in the unknown language of the angel who could drift between the past and the future, and flicker between reality and nothingness.
This is no longer evolution, but a direct collective dimensional ascension. Can the PCS system really achieve this level?
