Man in the Ark: Revitalizing Kazdel
Chapter 22 The Banshee Enters the City
Five hours had passed since the main force of the Military Committee left Kazdel City.
The banshee army outside the city is ready. The Banshee Lord, together with several powerful tribesmen, launches a large-scale spell covering the entire mobile city.
Woo…woo…woo…
The morning wind brought the sound of bone whistles into the city. People who had just gotten up to start working fell directly into a deep sleep, and some soldiers on night shift could not resist the invasion of the whistles.
Suddenly, a large number of people fell into coma in the city and sharp alarms sounded.
Ursula works late into the night searching for the suspicious individuals wreaking havoc on her beloved city.
I had just fallen asleep when I was awakened by a sharp alarm.
"This guy deserves to die!"
Ursula's worst fears had come to pass.
I didn't expect that this guy would come out to cause trouble just after the general left the mobile city.
She quickly put on her equipment and went downstairs to assemble the troops.
But as soon as she opened the door, Ursula found that the soldier standing guard outside the door had fallen down.
"Has that dangerous guy already broken in here?"
Looking around, there was no sign of the enemy. Looking out the window of the corridor, some people were lying on the street, and some were running in panic.
What exactly is going on?
A burst of bone whistles was heard again, and some of the people running on the street fell down again.
That's the banshee's spell!
How come they are here?
Ursula knew that she was in big trouble.
......
When the bone whistle sounded for the first time, Roy started his action.
His temporary base was not far from the central tower. Roy directly cut through the ground with his sword and flew to the location of the control center.
This would save a lot of time, and he wanted to open the city gate for the banshee army as quickly as possible.
Inside the control center, some staff members fell into a coma due to the banshee's spell, leaving only five senior staff members still holding on.
At this time they were receiving messages from Ursula, who was worried that the real target of the dangerous person who was lurking somewhere was the central tower.
As long as the city gates were opened, once the banshees outside the city entered the city, the troops inside the city would be unable to stop the attack of the royal army.
"Don't worry, Major. I trust the brothers outside and the heavy door. Unless the intruder can fly in..."
The gray-haired Sarkaz old man was still confidently assuring Ursula, but the next second Roy broke through the glass and put the sword on his neck.
"Could you please help me open all the city gates?"
Ursula also heard the sound of glass falling over there and yelled into the communicator: "Sarkaz swear words."
"Ha, what's going on over there?"
"Answer me now!!!"
Roy also noticed the shrill roar coming from the communicator, reached out to take it from Hull's hand, and crushed the communicator directly.
Finding that the communication with Hull was interrupted, Ursula knew that the dangerous guy had invaded the control center.
She immediately turned the car around, stepped on the accelerator, and rushed towards the central tower. Perhaps her car would be scrapped due to overloading before reaching the central tower, but she could no longer care about that.
The city gate must not be lost!
"Mr. Hull, isn't it?"
"Please hurry up, or your head will be like this communicator."
Roy let go, and the sparking parts fell to the metal floor.
"This monster!"
Hull knew that in order to cope with combat situations, the communicator was incredibly strong, and some soldiers would even use it as a hammer.
But the man in front of him crushed it with his bare hands.
Hull was in a dilemma. If he opened the gate, the major would cut him into pieces. But if he didn't, his head would be crushed.
"I...I'll open the door for you...but...you have to protect my safety..."
Hull decided to follow his heart, he knew he couldn't stop this man, even if he would rather die than surrender.
Your colleagues may not make the same decision.
You don't do it!
Some are Sarkaz!
This is the truth that Hull has learned after working for so many years.
He needs to show his worth in order to survive.
"Forgive me, Major."
Hearing Hull's request, Roy agreed decisively and took back the sword from his neck.
He then pointed at the other four staff members, signaling them not to act rashly.
Hull came to the operating table covered with densely packed buttons and levers, and skillfully pressed a series of buttons.
As the last button was pressed, the huge gears began to turn and the city gate slowly opened.
At this time, the army of banshees who had been waiting outside the door for a long time were also ready to move, waiting for the order to charge.
The Banshee Lord looked at the familiar city gate in front of her, a smile appeared on her lips, and she picked up the bone whistle to blow the prelude to the attack.
"I'm back again, in Kazdel City."
......
Ursula finally arrived at the central tower. The engine of her car was smoking, but she didn't care anymore.
There were still some conscious soldiers in the tower, but because the control center was too soundproof and Roy did not allow others to sound the alarm, they did not know that the control center had been invaded.
"A bunch of idiots!"
"Follow me to the control center."
The heavy metal door was opened, and Ursula rushed into the center under the cover of the soldiers. No intruders were found inside, only a few staff members repairing the smoking console.
Hearing the door opening behind them, they all turned their heads.
"Major, you are finally here..."
"Heer colluded with the invaders to open the city gate and destroyed the control console. We can't close the city gate here."
An old man with gray hair, Rupert, burst into tears and threw the responsibility directly onto Hull while crying.
"Where are they?"
Old man Lupo pointed to the window with a big hole in it and said with his head down: "They jumped from here... and flew away..."
Ursula was about to fall into the Red Temperature state and was about to curse the old man, but her spell was interrupted again.
Drop! Drop! Drop! ...
The communicator hanging on Ursula's shoulder rang again, and she quickly picked it up.
"Report to the Major! This is the gate guard. The gate has been opened, and the Banshee army has already attacked. The brothers can't hold on any longer..."
There was a sound of rapid breathing coming from the communicator, accompanied by several explosions.
"Try to hold off for a while, support will be here soon..."
"Oh, damn, why is there someone flying in the sky..."
Communications were interrupted again.
After putting away the communicator, Earl looked at the old men in front of him who were lowering their heads and not daring to speak. He took a deep breath and calmed his anger.
The old men shrank even tighter.
"You guys try your best to repair the console, and I'll deal with you when the general comes back."
Ursula turned and left. She wanted to gather soldiers from all over the city to resist the Banshee army. At the same time, she sent out a distress message, hoping that the mercenaries outside the city who were greedy for money could come to support her.
At the city gate, the garrison in the city was defeated by the Banshee's attack. Their fighting spirit had begun to collapse, and with the influence of the Banshee's magic, more and more people fell.
Some banshees began to shout words like "surrender and you won't be killed". When the enemy is at a disadvantage, persuading them to surrender is a very effective tactic.
Roy spotted the Banshee Lord in the air and landed gently beside her.
The guard at the side noticed Roy's appearance and quickly raised his staff to cast a spell.
The Banshee Lord held out her hand and motioned for them to retreat.
"Senior, it seems that victory in this battle is just around the corner."
"The background of the Military Committee is not as simple as it seems. The real battle has not yet begun."
"But with our Lord Demon here, isn't victory within our grasp?"
The Banshee Lord started to tease Roy about his identity as the Demon King again, but in fact Roy himself didn't care about the title of Demon King.
He only cares about the powerful force that the Demon King brings, which is enough to change this land.
