The Tower of the Shining Moon is an isolated tower located within the Temple of Light, far away from the main temple. It is one of the tallest buildings in Highgarden. There is a tower like this in the southeast, northwest, and northeast of the temple. They guard the temple like sentinels, and only one of them is named the Shining Moon.

It's not because one can appreciate the moon better from a high place, but because Freya, the only beloved daughter of the King and Queen of the Gaia Empire, has lived here since she was a child. It is said that her beauty is as pure and shining as moonlight, so she is called the Moon of the Empire. The White Tower where she lives is also contaminated with this beauty, and is named the Tower of Shining Moon by the people.

Catherine stood at the bottom of the tower, holding the gift box in her hand and took a few deep breaths silently. Then she raised her hand and knocked on the door at the bottom of the tower. After waiting for a while, a blind old woman groped over and silently opened the door for her. The door made a creaking sound that echoed in the tower.

She looked at the old woman who locked the door immediately after she came in sideways, and could not help but look at the layers of black veil hanging in the tower. She lifted her skirt and prepared to go up the stairs to the top of the tower.

"Catherine." A soft call suddenly sounded from behind the black gauze curtain beside the wall, like a whimper blown by the cold wind, echoing in the empty space in the tower, scaring the princess.

"...Good afternoon, Sister Freya." Catherine hugged the box tightly, suppressed her heart that was pounding due to fear, and quickly adjusted her tone, "I thought you would be at the top of the tower, and was about to go up to see you."

"Haha, Hanukkah is approaching, and there are a lot of people in the city, and even more people come to see me. I'm impatient to run up and down all the time, so I stay on the first floor more during the day... Did I scare you?" The girl named Freya said after a mischievous chuckle.

It turned out that there was a young girl sitting in the corner of the first floor of the tower. Layers of black veil hung from the wooden beams on the top, covering her upper body. With the light from the tower, Catherine could only see her vague figure sitting safely by the window, and her white skirt blooming on the ground, as pure and beautiful as a blooming lily.

Catherine nodded, and then realized that Freya couldn't see her movements. She was about to speak when she suddenly heard a commotion outside. Then someone knocked hurriedly on the light-proof wooden window at the girl's window.

"Lady Saint! Please help us! Lady Saint!"

A woman outside the window was knocking on it anxiously. The blind old woman who had just opened the door for Catherine slowly leaned over against the wall when she heard the words. Her two eye sockets without eyeballs were deeply sunken. She lifted layer after layer of black curtains and walked to the side of the saint in white dress to wait for instructions.

"I'm sorry." Freya apologized gently to Catherine behind the curtain, and then opened a small grid on the window. The grid was very small, just enough for her to stretch her hand out. After opening the window, the sound outside became clearer -

"Please save my husband, Lady Saint! He was hit by falling rocks while working at a construction site, and he, he lost a lot of blood. Our family are all devout believers of light..." The woman knelt down while shouting. Her husband, who was carried from behind, was barely breathing. She was so frightened that she was incoherent.

"Don't be afraid." The voice of Saint Freya came out through the small hole in the window, like a soft and smooth silk, sliding into people's hearts. Although the voice was not loud, it immediately comforted the tearful woman. She hurriedly wiped away her tears and dragged her husband's hand to the window.

"Look at him, Your Highness, please save him, he can still be saved, right?" The woman felt like she had grabbed the last straw. There was a big hole in her husband's head, and even the bones were sunken. The doctors in the city refused to see him and asked her to give up. In desperation, she remembered the legendary Imperial Moon and dragged her husband, who was still breathing, here.

Freya said nothing, but stretched her hand out of the window through the small opening, and regardless of the dust and blood on the man's hands, she gently covered them and then chanted a prayer in a low voice.

Catherine stared quietly at the black curtain in front of her and listened to the movement in front. Freya's pure singing seemed like the fairy music from heaven. The holy prayers contained the blessing of the God of Light. As she sang, a huge yellow halo lit up on the edge of her white skirt. The healing magic enveloped the weeping woman outside the window and her husband whose life or death was unknown. Even the cold north wind retreated.

When Freya finished singing, she withdrew her hand and closed the small window. Before the woman could react, the man with blood on his head suddenly moved his fingers and called his wife's name.

The woman was startled, and hurriedly crawled to his head and pulled apart his hair to look carefully, but she could not find the horrific wound. The sunken skull was restored to its original shape. The woman was so surprised that she was speechless. After a while, she suddenly burst into tears. Those were tears of relief for surviving the disaster and tears of joy.

"Thank you, Lady Saint! I will always remember your kindness. You saved our family. We will pray to the God of Light for you every day and sing praises to your kindness to everyone." The woman knelt outside the window, constantly saluting the saint inside the window, muttering to herself.

The saint did not respond, and there was silence inside the window.

"Your healing spells are getting more and more powerful, Sister Freya." Seeing her cousin save a life again, Catherine praised sincerely.

The blind woman moved when she heard that and turned her dark eyes towards Catherine. Freya smiled and opened her mouth.

"Catherine, this is not magic, this is the blessing of light." She corrected her sister strictly, and then couldn't help shaking her head complacently, "Actually, this level is nothing. Before, someone's neck was scratched by a knife and almost broke in two, but I saved him."

Catherine did not comment on the correction in her name, nor did she refute it, she just stood there quietly.

"How is your new school?" Since there were few people to chat with, Freya asked Catherine eagerly, relying on her imagination to fill in the outside world. "Now that I am standing on the top of the tower, I can't help but look in the direction of Goletia, wondering, how is my little Catherine now?"

"Not bad, some of the courses are very interesting..." Catherine answered every word very carefully. "Golatia's buildings are not as neat and bright as Highgarden. I often get lost there. There are no flocks of white pigeons in front of the temple. Instead, there are many ravens. Every evening, you can always hear their noise."

"It sounds like a lively place..." Freya's voice sounded a little lonely, and then she suddenly asked, "Did you make any new friends?"

Time seemed to suddenly stand still and fell into silence. The air seemed to solidify and the silence was suffocating.

Catherine lowered her head, thinking of the failed social interaction, and shook her head in denial, "Not yet..."

Suddenly, a hand grabbed her tightly through the black veil!

"It's okay, Catherine!" Freya had come closer without her noticing, still separated from her cousin by a black curtain, and comforted her with her mouth, but her tone was very excited and high-pitched.

"I am your friend, I will always be your friend, having me is enough for you!"
