Positive little sun, magical girl, I am awesome
Chapter 92 Queen
Catherine pushed open the heavy and magnificent door of the bedroom and walked out, breathing a sigh of relief. In King George's bedroom, the smell of burning cardamom was strong and oppressive, making her dare only take a small breath every time. Now she felt like a fish finally returned to the water. She avoided the servants who were walking into the door and stood aside to take a deep breath.
After the group entered the door, she finally saw the gorgeously dressed woman standing not far away. It turned out that the air here suddenly became better because the woman opened the window in the corridor to watch the snow. The cold wind blew in. Although it was a bit chilly, it dispersed the rich fragrance. Catherine waited for the servants to enter the bedroom before walking towards the woman.
"Good day, aunt." Catherine lifted her skirt and bent her knees slightly, solemnly saluting the Queen of the Empire. She lowered her head slightly, and her silver hair cascaded down her shoulders, adding a touch of softness to the girl's cold temperament.
Queen Tservini looked at the crown prince with his head lowered in front of her with a complicated expression. She turned her head and looked at the snow scene outside the window again, masochistically letting the cold wind blow her nose red.
"Why doesn't Kanion come with you?" Tservini said without much enthusiasm, only asking about her favorite nephew.
Catherine's eyes sparkled, and she used her father's words, "My brother has caught a cold these days. In order to avoid affecting the health of the King and Queen, my father strictly forbids him to go out and asks him to stay at home and recuperate these days."
"It was fine yesterday..." Tservini said in a complaining tone, then glanced at Catherine and seemed to have nothing to say. The atmosphere between the two became quiet again.
"How long have you been here, aunt? Have I delayed your visit?" Catherine took the initiative to start the conversation.
"It's been a while... But it doesn't matter." Tserwini twitched her lips sarcastically, "I have plenty of time anyway, it doesn't matter if I come earlier or later."
Catherine didn't know how to respond after hearing this.
Tservini glanced at the young crown prince again, with a hint of contempt in her eyes, "Don't just think about reading all day, Catherine, you still have a lot to learn." Compared with her brother, this child is not as lively and likable.
"Maybe you should wait for me here for a while. I have a tea party this afternoon. You can come and chat with other noble ladies. Oh, and some new friends. They have been looking forward to meeting you..."
Catherine pursed her lips, but still refused Tservini's arrangement.
"I'm sorry, auntie. I'd love to attend your party, but I've asked someone in the temple to tell Sister Freya that I'll go see her this afternoon... I don't want to break my promise."
The queen's endless chatter was suddenly cut off at her throat.
"...Oh, you are going to go see her..." Tservini looked at Catherine, trying to move the corners of her mouth and reveal a smile, but failed. She turned her head and looked out the window. The trace of love and care for the younger generation that she had finally summoned was gone at this moment. Her face was cold, without a trace of warmth.
"Do you have any message for Sister Freya? I can help convey it." Catherine asked in a low voice.
This question seemed to completely annoy the queen in front of her. She turned around suddenly and looked at Catherine viciously. The crown prince in front of her always kept his head down humbly in front of her and did not receive her gaze at all. Her anger was vented into the air.
"...Sometimes I find it very interesting, Catherine, that you are the only one among William's three children who calls me aunt." The queen took a few deep breaths and avoided answering Catherine's question. "Did your mother teach you how to please me? Do you think I will be closer to you this way?"
Catherine was startled and subconsciously retorted, "My mother never taught me such a thing. She is very busy..."
"Haha, yes, you are not idle like me, right?" The queen showed an annoyed look and said sarcastically. "A witch standing shoulder to shoulder with the Duke of the Empire, how amazing!"
"...You and your father were born in the same place. You are the continuation and extension of your grandmother's life." Catherine explained slowly, "This blood relationship was established from the moment you were born. In my heart, this kind of connection is higher than any other acquired relationship. Naturally, I should call you aunt."
"Blood connection is a gift from my mother. This is indeed what my mother taught me." Catherine said this and said no more.
"...I'm going in now. Go and do your thing." The queen seemed not to want to waste any more time with this stubborn junior, so she walked straight past her and headed towards King George's bedroom.
Catherine stopped talking. Even though her aunt treated her coldly, she still observed etiquette and bowed to the queen's back to say goodbye.
Inside the door, the servants who had just come in were serving the king medicine. As soon as Tservini came in, she saw George swallowing in pain, and she raised the corners of her mouth in satisfaction.
"Good day, Your Majesty." Tservini's mood finally improved. She walked gracefully and smiled to the chair where she usually sat down.
"...Zirwini." George seemed unwilling to show weakness in front of her. He forced a smile and tried to chase her away tactfully. "You don't need anyone to watch over you right now. You can go first--"
"No need, dear Majesty." Tservini interrupted George, leaning on a chair covered with fox fur. She looked at George with interest, holding her chin in her hand. "I want to stay with you for a while longer today."
George's face didn't look good. He nodded silently. The waiter handed the medicine to him again and served him. It seemed that the medicine tasted very bitter. George swallowed every mouthful as if he was swallowing a razor blade.
Tservini seemed not to notice and continued chatting with her husband. "I just happened to run into Catherine. Oh, our lovely princess. I haven't seen her for a few months. You have grown up a lot."
George's eyes were gloomy, and he continued to drink the medicine with difficulty, as if he didn't hear Tseringni. The servants had already felt the atmosphere of impending storm, and were so scared that they dared not breathe. Tseringni was the only one in the room, talking happily to herself.
"...She calls me aunt. Haha, what a lovely girl, isn't she? I think she looks a bit like me, but of course, more like William." Tserwini seemed unaware of the solemnity in the air.
"Snapped!"
As if he could no longer bear the stimulation of the sweet and fishy potion, George waved away the servant's hand, and the potion bottle was swung onto the bedpost and shattered. The sticky dark red potion flowed slowly like blood plasma, emitting an unpleasant smell.
"Get out! Get out!" George roared.
