Positive little sun, magical girl, I am awesome
Chapter 31 The first day of school
The joyful chirping of birds can be heard outside the window, and the September sunshine shines through the vines and glass, filling the desk.
Perhaps because she was a little nervous, Lilith did not sleep very deeply. After vaguely hearing the birds singing, she gradually regained consciousness and slowly opened her eyes - the first day of school had finally arrived.
With the expectation of becoming a magic apprentice, Lilith quickly got up, washed, and picked and chose in front of the wardrobe, and finally chose a silk shirt and a pair of brown riding pants. When she lowered her head and carefully put the trouser legs into her boots, she heard a confusing sound coming from her desk. Lilith looked up in confusion——
The strange timetable that I received when I enrolled a few days ago, which looked like gold and paper, was shaking on the table in front of the window. Lilith moved closer with curiosity and saw that the small card repeatedly bent, folded, and stretched itself, and finally turned into a paper crane. It fluttered its wings and finally floated up, then hit the window.
"Oh, are you going out? Sorry, I can't open the window for you." Lilith didn't forget the warning sign of the blood-sucking vines downstairs. She quickly opened the door to make way for the little guy.
The paper crane really turned around and flew towards the door. But when it reached the door, it stopped moving and turned its head towards Lilith. Lilith finally figured out that this schedule had the function of a guide. She walked forward and caught the bird in her hand. She didn't know if it could understand, but it said seriously, "Although you don't need to eat, I'm still growing. Eat breakfast first!"
The little paper crane did not struggle, and after being held, it nestled comfortably in Lilith's palm. Lilith smiled, and finally adjusted her clothes in front of the mirror before leaving.
As soon as she reached the first floor, Lilith was a little dumbfounded - why was there a party so early in the morning?
During Catherine's last tea party, Lilith had learned that all the nobles of this freshman class lived in her building. Although the last meeting had given her some superficial understanding of these people, Lilith was still shocked by the scene in the common room today.
A dozen girls were wearing colorful and complicated long skirts. The hems of their skirts were supported by huge crinolines and blossomed like flowers. The patterns embroidered with gold or silver threads sparkled in the sun. They sat elegantly on chairs in the lounge, talking softly, showing off their gorgeous jewelry to each other, and occasionally covering their delicate cheeks with feather fans, laughing like silver bells. There were also several small paper birds made of timetables floating around them, waving their wings tirelessly up and down, circling around them.
Lilith stood on the stairs, looking at the dreamy scene below in shock. Then she looked at herself and felt like Zhu Bajie who accidentally entered the Pansi Cave...
At this time, a girl near the stairs turned around and saw Lilith. She covered her mouth and nose with a fan and looked up and down. The shock in her eyes was even more exaggerated than Lilith's, but she still tried to calm her tone, "Lilith, good morning. Have you seen Catherine?"
Lilith finally came to her senses and tried to greet calmly. "Good morning, Winnie. Catherine may not be up yet."
Winnie smiled at Lilith, "We are all waiting for Miss Catherine to set off together, Lilith...you still have time to change your clothes now." She made a friendly suggestion.
Lilith thought about the scene of going to class with more than a hundred civilian classmates and shuddered. The thought of being watched by others like animals in a zoo made her feel so sad. She shook her head frantically and refused, "I... I'm a little hungry. I have to go have breakfast first. I won't go with you. Sorry." Then, without waiting for Winnie to say anything, she slipped out along the wall.
The cafeteria today was much busier than the previous few days. As soon as Lilith entered, it felt like she was in the bustling city center, with long queues and groups of students laughing and playing. Lilith randomly picked some meals with fewer queues, made herself a simple sandwich, and ate it. She had an irregular diet yesterday, and now she was starving.
"You've got a good appetite, Lilith! I was so nervous on my first day at school that I couldn't eat. I was afraid I'd be kicked out for being so bad." Todd squeezed a pair of long legs into the stool next to Lilith and sat down with a full plate of food.
Lilith looked up, and the four people she met yesterday sat down next to her one by one. Gentle Jane smiled at Lilith, "Happy first day of school, Lilith. Have you brought your class schedule? Some professors have classes in different locations, and some buildings move around on their own. Be sure to follow the guide on the class schedule."
Lilith nodded hurriedly and opened her palms. The little paper crane shook its head again, slowly took off, and circled around Lilith.
"Mr. Colin is a casual and gentle teacher. You don't need to be nervous in his class." Although Marvin sat far away from Lilith, he was busy distributing tableware to the four people, and he did not forget to remind Lilith. Tina, who was half asleep next to him, also nodded in agreement.
Lilith felt warm in her heart and thanked the enthusiastic seniors one by one. Then, urged by the fluttering wings of the little paper bird, she quickly filled her stomach and left.
The bird led Lilith all the way west, going further and further away. The morning sun was shining brightly in the Goletia Academy, but when Lilith walked into a distorted forest, the light gradually dimmed, as if it could not penetrate the branches with almost no leaves. Lilith slowed down hesitantly, and the little paper crane also slowed down, as if waiting for her.
Lilith looked at the strange white mist rising from her feet and stepped on the soft rotten leaves on the ground, feeling a little confused. Is this really a class? The atmosphere is a little weird...
"Lulu, is this really the way?" A girl's trembling voice sounded behind Lilith. She turned around and saw two girls leaning against each other and slowly groping forward. When they saw Lilith, they breathed a sigh of relief and cheered. "Great, there are other people here!"
Lilith turned around and smiled, "Good morning, are you here for the magic theory class as well?"
The two girls nodded repeatedly, "We thought we had taken the wrong road and were wondering whether to go back the same way. Fortunately, we met you." After Lilith exchanged greetings with them, she learned that the girl with the oval face was called Lulu, and the other thin black-haired girl was called Hannah. After introducing themselves to each other, they continued to follow the paper crane in front.
After passing this strange and gloomy forest, we finally came to a wide lawn surrounded by trees and fences. It seemed that few people visited here. The green grass, nourished by the rain in the summer, grew very dense, almost reaching the calves. Even though Lilith was wearing pants, she didn't want to go into the lush lawn. She chose to stand on the gravel road at the edge with Lulu Hannah, chatting with the new classmates who joined one by one. Slowly, more and more people gathered. After waiting for about two quarters of an hour, she heard a dark inhalation beside her ear. She looked back at the path she came from and raised her eyebrows.
Catherine was still wearing a black dress. When she walked out of the woods, with her gorgeous eyebrows and long silver-gray hair, she seemed like a ghost in the dark forest. Behind her was a group of noble women in gorgeous clothes, and several noble men in formal clothes stood beside them. They looked at the crowd on Lilith's side with a trace of contempt on their faces. It seemed that breathing under the same sky with them was a blasphemy to the noble young masters and young ladies.
The two sides were separated by almost a street width, and both fell silent. Lilith heard Lulu and Hannah whispering in her ear, "Oh my god, look at that girl's waist, can she still breathe after being tied like that?" Hannah quickly interrupted her with a shush.
Lilith was about to laugh secretly when she heard a few high fives. Everyone turned around and saw an old man sitting on a stone hidden in the lawn. Lilith took a closer look and found that it was the old man who received her on the registration day.
"Okay, everyone is here. Let's start the class."
