Positive little sun, magical girl, I am awesome
Chapter 109 Fireball
After completing the cooperation with Catherine, Lilith's life returned to its original rhythm. She went to school every day. Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye it was May when the flowers were in full bloom and the air gradually became warmer.
The training ground was filled with a pungent burnt smell in the morning, and Teacher Luna stared at the people in the field without blinking.
Lilith closed her eyes, cleared her mind, took a deep breath, concentrated her mental strength, chanted a spell, and slowly raised her right hand. The halo of the magic circle flashed under her feet, and a powerful elemental wave vibrated in the air. The students watching on the sidelines felt it and stopped whispering.
"Crack——" There was a slight sound like when a match is ignited, and the temperature around it rose sharply. It seemed that in the blink of an eye, a huge burning fireball appeared out of thin air in Lilith's hand. The temperature was so high that the surrounding air was distorted. She swung her arm violently, and the fireball instantly jumped out of her palm, dragging a long flame tail, and crashed straight into the huge rock in front of her with the momentum to destroy everything.
"Bang!" The moment the fireball touched the boulder, a loud noise erupted, and the powerful impact caused the boulder to sway for a few times before it came to a stop. The fireball exploded after the impact, and the sparks scattered around continued to burn tenaciously for a while before finally slowly extinguishing and dissipating.
"Yeah!" Lilith turned her back to the main group and secretly clenched her fists to celebrate. After nearly a year of spell classes, Teacher Luna was finally willing to teach her offensive spells!
Lilith turned her head excitedly and met the eyes of Teacher Luna. She seemed to be in a good mood. She said nothing and nodded to signal Lilith to return to the team.
"That's amazing, Lilith!" Sean's expression and tone were sour, "Why is your fireball so big, while mine is like an egg and flies out very slowly."
"It's said to be related to mental strength. You must have been slacking off on meditation, Sean." Lulu stood in the front row and turned her head to whisper to everyone.
"Hey, who can be attacked by such an attack spell? It's only good for making a fire. From now on, I'll let my friends do the charcoal burning. By the way, Lilith, how about a barbecue on the weekend? I'll be in charge of the barbecue this time. I've already mastered the essentials!" Sean said while swallowing.
"No problem, let's arrange a barbecue in the courtyard!" Lilith was in a very good mood. Every time she cast a spell, in order to concentrate her mental strength, she would enter a semi-meditative state and shut down some of her perceptions. At this time, she always felt that the flow of time seemed to be slowing down, and everything around her became slow motion. This feeling of unity of body and mind always made people extremely happy. She suspected that she had found a way to secrete dopamine at a high speed on her own.
"Ah, then can we play that new game you taught us last time?" Hannah couldn't help herself and turned around to join the conversation.
"Want to kill werewolves? No problem, I'll arrange it!" Lilith always responds to requests.
"What is that?" Catherine listened for a long time and finally couldn't help but joined their conversation.
"It's a multiplayer party game, Catherine. You should join it. No one is more suitable to hold the witch card than you." Jaina encouraged the princess.
"Yeah, come on, Catherine, there is never-ending work, you should learn to relax and enjoy life." Lilith also joined the persuasion. Catherine was always busy. Even though they had a good relationship now, Catherine had never come to a dinner party.
"I..." Catherine was both excited and hesitant.
"Pa pa." There was a few applause from the front. It was Teacher Luna clapping her hands to call back the students' attention. Her tone was serious.
"If you want to practice on your own, do not do it outside of this training ground, and do not use it on others at will. Serious offenders will be expelled from Goletia or handed over to the Magic Guild. Please understand the importance of offensive spells. Like defensive magic, it is for self-protection, not for you to use as a means of violence. Remember?"
"Remember!" everyone responded in unison.
Luna nodded, "get out of class dismissed."
The crowd slowly dispersed. Lilith thought for a moment, said goodbye to her friends, and followed the back of Teacher Luna.
"Teacher Luna! Teacher Luna!" Lilith jogged to catch up with Teacher Luna, who was striding quickly, and stood in front of her.
"What's wrong?" Luna stopped.
"Teacher, can you teach me a spell to make ice cubes?" Lilith's eyes were full of pleading. The weather was hot, and her cold drinks couldn't be without ice cubes, just like dumplings couldn't be without vinegar and pizza couldn't be without pineapple.
Luna stared at Lilith for a while, then opened her lips and recited a spell. The spell was a bit complicated, and Lilith spent a long time deciphering it before she figured out how to recite it. She concentrated again and closed her eyes, not noticing that Teacher Luna had taken a few steps back and walked to the side.
As the girl moaned, a silver-white magic circle lit up from under Lilith's feet. A cold breath spread and the air around her began to condense. Lilith felt the temperature around her drop. She stretched out her hands, waiting for the ice to solidify, but nothing happened on her hands.
In contrast, countless ice cones broke out of the ground a moment later, extending forward from under Lilith's feet. The cold light pierced through the grass and lifted it up. The surface of the hit grass was quickly covered with a thick layer of ice, and there was a snapping sound when it fell to the ground. Only then did Lilith open her eyes.
"This is..." Lilith looked at the cold ice cones in confusion. Wherever she looked, there was white cold air rising silently.
This, this doesn't seem to be very convenient for making cold drinks, and you have to break it off the ground yourself? It doesn't seem very hygienic!
"Teacher Luna..." Lilith said with a bitter face, "This is not what I want..."
"Lilith." Luna watched from the side for a while, and then asked Lilith confidently, "You don't actually need to recite the spell to cast a spell, right? When did it start?"
"Huh?" Lilith turned her head in confusion, "I did, teacher. I always do."
"In addition to mental strength, the pronunciation, rhythm, tone of the spell, and even the mood and environment when it is released may affect the effect and power of the magic, so repeated practice is needed." Luna looked at Lilith.
"But I noticed that you... sometimes you don't pronounce the words correctly, and sometimes you even mispronounce them, but you always succeed. Rebecca said that your shield spell can be cast almost instantly. Can you chant the spell so quickly?"
"I, I sometimes recite it to myself..." Lilith explained haltingly, and she finally understood what Teacher Luna meant.
"That's a skill that some high-level magicians can only master after repeated training, Lilith." Luna said in a deep voice.
