A Mysterious Journey Through the Shang Dynasty

Chapter 3 New Friends of the Shang Dynasty

As the days in Shang Dynasty passed, I gradually adapted to the pace of life here. Every morning, the sun shone through the window on my face, waking me up for a new day. I would help the old man with some things within my ability, and then go to the market to check out my small jewelry stall.

On this day, I came to the market as usual. The market was still bustling, with people's laughter and various hawking sounds intertwined, forming a picture full of life. I walked to my stall and began to sort out the accessories I made carefully. Each accessory seemed to carry a story of mine, a struggle in this strange era.

Just as I was immersed in my thoughts, a clear voice rang in my ears. "Hello, these accessories are so beautiful!" I looked up and saw a young woman standing in front of my stall. She had long black hair, bright and spirited eyes, and a warm smile on her face. Although she was dressed simply, she exuded an elegant temperament.

I was a little surprised and quickly responded, "Thank you, which one do you like?" The woman looked at my jewelry carefully, her fingers gently brushing over the beads and wires. "Did you make all these yourself?" she asked, her eyes full of curiosity. I nodded, "Yes, I also wanted to find something to do in this era, so I tried to make these jewelry."

The woman laughed, "You are amazing. My name is Wan'er, nice to meet you." I laughed too, "My name is Su Yao, nice to meet you too." Just like that, we started chatting. Wan'er told me that she was from a nearby village and came to the market today to buy some daily necessities for her family. She was very interested in my jewelry and thought they were very unique.

We chatted very well, as if we were friends who had not seen each other for many years. Wan'er told me a lot about the life and customs of the Shang Dynasty, which gave me a deeper understanding of this era. She also told me some of her own stories, and her dream was to travel far away one day and see more of the world. I was infected by her courage and optimism, and I was full of admiration for her.

As time went by, our relationship became closer and closer. Wan'er often came to my stall to chat with me, and sometimes helped me sell accessories. We shared the joys and sorrows of life together and spent many wonderful times together. In this strange era, Wan'er has become my most precious friend.

One day, Wan'er invited me to visit her village. I gladly agreed, full of anticipation. We walked together on the country road, the sun shone on us, warm and comfortable. In the fields beside the road, the crops grew lushly, and the farmers were working hard. Wan'er pointed at the crops and introduced me to different crops and their planting methods. I listened with great interest and had a more intuitive understanding of agricultural production in this era.

Finally, we arrived at Wan'er's village. Although the houses in the village were simple, they were full of the breath of life. When people saw Wan'er coming back with a stranger, they gathered around curiously. Wan'er introduced me to everyone enthusiastically, and everyone greeted me in a friendly manner. I felt their sincerity and kindness, and my heart was filled with emotion.

Wan'er took me to visit her home. Although her home is not big, it is very warm. There are some simple furniture in the house, and some floral fabrics embroidered by herself are hung on the wall, which is full of the interest of life. Wan'er's parents also welcomed me warmly. They prepared some fruits and snacks for me, which made me feel the warmth of home.

I had a wonderful time in Wan'er's village. Wan'er and I went to the mountains to pick wild fruits, went to the river to catch fish, and enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery together. We also participated in some activities in the village together, sang and danced with everyone, and shared the joy of life. In this process, I deeply felt the simplicity and kindness of the people of the Shang Dynasty. I was deeply touched by their love for life and their vision for the future.

However, happy times are always short-lived. Soon, I had to go back to the market and continue my life. Wan'er sent me to the village entrance and we hugged each other tightly. "Su Yao, I will miss you." Wan'er's voice was a little choked. I was reluctant to leave her, "Wan'er, I will miss you too. We will definitely meet again."

After returning to the market, I worked harder to run my jewelry stall. I knew that in this strange era, I needed to rely on my own efforts to survive. At the same time, I was looking forward to meeting Wan'er again, and looking forward to us continuing to explore this mysterious and beautiful Shang Dynasty together.

As time went by, my jewelry stall became more and more popular. My jewelry not only sold well at the market, but also attracted some merchants from far away to come and buy. They praised my jewelry and even proposed to cooperate with me for a long time. I was filled with joy and pride, but also felt an unprecedented pressure.

I know that I cannot be satisfied with the status quo. I need to keep innovating and improving in order to gain a foothold in this highly competitive era. So, I began to try to make jewelry with different materials and methods, hoping to create more unique and beautiful works. I also learned some traditional crafts of the Shang Dynasty and incorporated them into my jewelry making to make my jewelry more culturally meaningful.

During this process, I encountered many difficulties and challenges. Sometimes, I would be troubled by not being able to find the right materials; sometimes, I would be frustrated by problems that occurred during the production process. However, whenever I think of Wan'er's encouragement and support, and the kind people I met in the Shang Dynasty, I will be full of confidence and courage to continue to persevere.

Finally, my hard work paid off. My jewelry became more and more popular, and my business was getting better and better. Not only did I earn enough to live on, but I also made a lot of new friends. They came from different places, with different backgrounds and stories, but we all came together because of our love for jewelry.

In this strange Shang Dynasty, I gradually found my place. I am no longer the lonely and helpless traveler, but a person with my own career and friends. I know that my adventure has just begun, and there are many unknown challenges waiting for me in the future. However, I am no longer afraid because I have the support of my friends and my own courage.

I believe that in this mysterious and beautiful Shang Dynasty, I will be able to create a wonderful life of my own.
