Crossing the Passenger Sacrifice

Chapter 4: Including You

The sister-in-law couldn't tell what the other person was thinking. Instead, she swept away the embarrassment of hitting the wrong person just now and said viciously:

"It's just right that it's you. I'll beat you up too, so I don't have to make an extra trip! Where's Sang Fuqing? Tell him to come out and get beaten!"

She took a detour to her childhood friend's house first, chatted with him for a while before rushing back. She didn't expect that Sang Fuqing had not come back yet, so she thought he was somewhere else in the house.

He shouted a few more times, like a robber.

Sang Fuqing was not called out. The neighbors around the Sang Mansion heard the noise and some of them did not even have time to put down their bowls and just came with them, gathering at the door of the Sang Mansion.

"Breaking into a private house and hurting people maliciously!" The scholar who had said the wrong thing repeatedly was the most indignant. He pointed at the eldest sister-in-law and the others and said, "Whose family are you from? You are so uneducated!"

The scolded sister-in-law wanted to punch him a few more times, but Xu Jiaoer, who was supported by everyone, stepped forward and stood in front of the scholar who was pointing fingers.

With his obviously swollen face raised fearlessly, he said to his sister-in-law:

"Miss, this gentleman is a friend of Mr. Xu and Mr. Sang, and he is visiting the Sang Mansion. We are all scholars, so we should discuss things in a proper manner. Using fists and feet at every turn is really... ugly. What are you doing here at the Sang Mansion today? Why don't you tell me first, and I can handle it for you."

These words moved the young man behind Xu Jiao'er and also made his sister-in-law even more angry. Although she had not received much education, she could still understand whether she was being scolded or not.

"You are ugly! Like a pig! And what... you will treat me the same?! You will treat me the same?! Who do you think you are?!" The eldest sister-in-law was so angry that she was spinning around. "Where are the three hammers?! Give me the three hammers! I am going to hammer this vicious woman to death today!"

The two childhood friends only agreed to help vent their anger, and did not agree to kill anyone at the moment, so they tried their best to stop the eldest sister-in-law's actions.

The neighbor who had been bribed by the family took effect at this time and stood outside the door to persuade them that the Sang family was all good and they should not cause trouble in other people's house anymore.

"What a jerk!" The sister-in-law took the time to curse.

There was a scholar who had been living in Kyoto for many years. He guessed the identity of the sister-in-law from the name of her weapon and instantly understood the other party's intention.

He whispered to another good classmate beside him: "Brother, why don't we go first?"

The classmates who were watching the play angrily were puzzled: "Why? Brother Sang hasn't returned home yet, leaving Xu Zhuangyuan here to fight against such a shrew. Isn't it a shame to the friendship between Brother Sang and us?"

The person who proposed it hesitated for a moment and explained cryptically: "This girl is... Well, this is a matter between the Li and Sang mansions. It is not convenient for us to interfere. Besides, the one holding the hammer is not someone we can afford to offend!"

"The Li and Sang Mansions?!" The classmate shouted in surprise, "Then this girl must be..."

The sound was not too loud, just enough for people around to hear. Seeing the girl who was about to take action in a hurry, everyone unconsciously compared her with the calm and measured Xu Jiaoer.

The friend who made the suggestion was so speechless that he wanted to roll his eyes. He didn't want to care about his classmate anymore. He deserved to be beaten up.

He walked up to Xu Jiaoer to say goodbye, and before leaving, he did not forget to bow to the sister-in-law who had grabbed the "three hammers".

Xu Jiao'er secretly observed everyone's expressions. It was indeed the effect she wanted. In order to strengthen the effect, Xu Jiao'er spoke again:

"Miss Li, I can let go of the fact that you injured me, but Lord Sang and I... are truly in love, so I hope you can help us."

As soon as she opened her mouth, in front of everyone, she changed her sister-in-law's surname and identity for no reason.

The eldest sister-in-law didn't know how she became "Miss Li". Just as she opened her mouth to curse, she heard Sang Fuqing's exclamation from behind:

"Jiao'er?!"

As soon as Sang Fuqing arrived home, he saw a lot of people gathered in front of his door. After finally squeezing in, he saw that his beloved, whom he cherished so much, had a big swollen face.

He ran to Xu Jiaoer in two or three steps, observed her carefully as if no one was around, and felt heartbroken.

"Jiao'er, what's going on?!"

Xu Jiaoer knew that there were a lot of people here, so she didn't need to say anything.

So she just shook her head slightly and said, "It's okay, it's just a little harder to speak. I'm afraid I won't be able to recite poetry for a while, alas!"

As Xu Jiao'er expected, an enthusiastic scholar stepped forward and denounced: "Miss Li, do you know that with this punch of yours, our Southern Country almost lost a peerless talent!"

"Yes! Miss Xu is well-versed in poetry and literature, and she is righteous and will not argue with you, but you have to understand right from wrong."

"That's right! Miss Li, why don't you apologize to Xu Zhuangyuan right away?!"

The scholars kept talking to each other, which gave the sister-in-law a headache. She slapped the stone table beside her, and the table and everything on it broke into pieces.

The loud noise shocked everyone, and those righteous scholars all shut up at the same time.

Sang Fuqing was also frightened, but the resentment and anger in his heart exceeded the "military deterrence" given by the other party.

He angrily scolded, "Miss Li! I went to the Li Mansion today to discuss things with you in a friendly manner, but you avoided me. I thought you were afraid of hearing something that would make you sad, so you didn't see me. Who would have thought that you would take advantage of my absence to come to the Sang Mansion and embarrass my daughter!"

Sang Fuqing looked at the woman opposite him. She was careless and except for her slightly prettier face, she was just as he imagined, vulgar and arrogant!

Fortunately, he met Jiao'er, otherwise he would have almost spent the rest of his life with someone like that.

"You probably didn't hear what I said to you at Li's house today. Let me say it again!"

Having said that, Sang Fuqing looked at Xu Jiaoer affectionately, not caring that Xu Jiaoer's face was swollen and deformed.

"Sang already has someone he loves, and he and I only hope to be together forever. Miss Li, please don't place high hopes on my love anymore, and be self-aware!"

Just as he finished speaking, there was a sound of horse hooves outside the door, and the people watching at the door all moved aside, automatically making way for the newcomer.

With a loud neighing of a horse, a chestnut horse stopped right in the middle outside the door.

The man on horseback was wearing a cloak, looking neat and mysterious, and his movement of dismounting was smooth and light.

The visitor went straight to the Sang Mansion and stopped beside "Miss Li".

Perhaps it was because this man's temperament was too special. From the moment he appeared to the moment he stood still, no one spoke. Everyone focused their attention on his eyes, and their gazes followed the movement of the black cloak.

Li Huoyue looked around and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he arrived in time and no one was left on the ground for me.

"Sister-in-law, it's time to go back."

The cloak covered Li Huoyue's face, and no one knew who the visitor was.

But with just this one title, the quick-witted people at the scene started to say, "Wow, after all this time this is Miss Li!"
