Pokémon cross over into the real world

Chapter 572 Special Mission (1)

After bidding farewell to the Four Islands Secret Realm, Wang Qiyi and his group quickly returned to the International Coalition's assembly area. By this time, the second wave of volunteers was nearing its end, and numerous coalition transport ships had already assembled near the Bay Province, awaiting trainers' arrival. These large transport ships were fully equipped, practically a sea-based Pokémon Gym, complete with all sorts of Pokémon training facilities.

This kind of elf-themed ship, half military, half cruise ship, is common in this world. Due to the existence of elves, many nations' military strength relies not only on firearms but also on the cultivation of powerful elves, and naval vessels are often built around elves. Wang Qiyi and his team moved aboard early, maintaining intense training for the elves while providing them with the best nutrition, ready for battle at any moment.

After a day and a half of sailing, the second wave of volunteers arrived safely in Marley. Each unit reported to their designated location for assembly. As the first and second waves of volunteers joined forces, General York George, the Supreme Commander, immediately convened a meeting of all commanders.

In the municipal conference room of the city of Jilong in Marley, sitting at the command center conference table were all the commanders of volunteer armies from various countries. Sitting in the center of the main seat was the commander-in-chief sent by the League of Nations, York George. Then on both sides sat the legendary elder Colbrando of the Eagle Kingdom and the elder Dong Tiancheng of the Dragon Kingdom.

Then came Surovikin of the Bear Kingdom, along with the generals of the Rooster Kingdom, the Onsa Kingdom, and the Chariot Kingdom. The generals of the other smaller kingdoms had to sit in the outer circle. Everyone had a smart translator in their ears, so they only needed to speak their native language to receive real-time translation.

Wang Qiyi was probably the lowest-ranking officer present, and logically should have sat near the door. However, Wang Qiyi held a distinguished position. He was a Nobel Prize winner in elf science and the inventor of the elf transmission device. Therefore, York George reserved a seat for Wang Qiyi beside him.

Wang Qiyi thought he'd been dragged here by Elder Dong to sit in on the meeting, but upon entering the meeting room, the Commander-in-Chief pulled him to sit at the main seat. Was he supposed to be his secretary, taking notes? Or perhaps helping him present the meeting PowerPoint?

Just as Wang Qiyi was wondering, General George whispered something to him. He told him that the reason he was called to this highest-level military meeting was that the main reason for the current obstruction of the war on the front line was the special Poké Balls of the Pokémon Cult. Wang Qiyi's Glow Technology Company was conducting research in this area, and he was needed to provide answers on the spot.

The second reason was that York George kept it a secret. He had an important special mission assigned to him, but he couldn't let too many people know about it. He needed to tell him after the meeting. So he had to be the protagonist of today's meeting.

The meeting's initial agenda consisted of York George presenting the current battle situation to the generals, until he mentioned the Pokemon Cult's special Poké Balls. These black Poké Balls possessed a powerful ability to capture Pokémons, forcibly carrying away a Trainer's Pokémon. Wang Qiyi's Glow Technology Company was currently the most advanced in special Poké Ball research, so they had given Wang Qiyi a sample of the black Poké Ball they had seized to investigate its decryption, hoping for a breakthrough.

"Now, please allow the respected Dr. Wang to answer our questions." York George handed the microphone to Wang Qiyi. Wang Qiyi had previously reported to Dong Tiancheng on the research report sent from Professor Su, and now, with ease, he loaded the prepared presentation slides into his computer.

"Everyone, I'd like to take this opportunity to briefly explain the principles of the Poké Ball," Wang Qiyi said. "In 1948, Professor von Neumann used the Gingerbread, a plant found in the Secret Realm, to create a Poké Ball. Inside the Gingerbread is a powdery substance that can convert Pokémon signals into Poké Balls. Humanity still hasn't fully understood the molecular structure of this powdery substance, but we know it's based on silicon, meaning the Gingerbread is a silicon-based plant. Academics also call this mysterious substance trisilicon protein."

"To make a regular Poké Ball, you simply heat and pound the Gumball, melting the trisilicon into the surface, and then install a trisilicon recovery device inside. However, the special Poké Balls our company invented melt the trisilicon into the surface of the cone at a specific location, much like programming a computer. The surface of the cone is also programmed with trisilicon produced by different types of Gumballs."

"Different programming methods can create Poké Balls with different functions. Strictly speaking, there are probably countless types of Poké Balls, because there are so many different programming methods. Of course, the vast majority of programmed Poké Balls have no function, and their catching ability is even worse than that of ordinary Poké Balls. So when we develop new Poké Balls, we basically rely on luck, and sometimes we don't know if we can make a better Poké Ball."

"We've temporarily named this Poké Ball created by the Pokemon Cult the Super Psychic Ball. When we got it, we discovered it was incredibly difficult to program. The patterns inside it are arranged almost at the nanoscale, which has enhanced the Poké Ball's sealing and binding capabilities to an extremely high level, which is why our Pokémon was forcibly captured. Currently, our human technology is not capable of manufacturing this type of Poké Ball."

"Since we can't create one, then I believe the Pokémon believers can't either. They all claim to want to return to primitive times and destroy human technological civilization, so how could they still have large-scale Pokéball manufacturing equipment? So there's only one possibility, that the one who created the Hyper Mind Ball wasn't a human, but the God-level Pokémon behind them."

"I have previously speculated that the god believed in by the elves should be a super-powered elf that has reached the god level. An elf that has trained its superpowers to the extreme will indeed show god-like power and break all laws with a single thought. Its miraculous superpowers are also the key to making the super-thought ball, which is why I named this ball the super-thought ball. Since only one elf can make the super-thought ball, and it is extremely difficult to make, the production of super-thought balls must be limited." Wang Qiyi then repeated his speculation to President Parker.

The generals in the conference room nodded in agreement. If Wang Qiyi's speculations were true, then once the news was announced, it would greatly stabilize the military's morale. This would provide a way to deal with the Elf Cult: a large-scale human wave tactic, using ordinary, weak elves to clear the way, shielding the elite elves from battle and consuming the Elf Cult's super-mind orbs.

"Dr. Wang, do you think it is possible for us to crack the super thought ball? Is it possible for us to create the super thought ball ourselves?" asked York George.

Wang Qiyi nodded: "Of course it's possible, but we have just started researching special Poké Balls. The existence of the Psycho Ball has also given us a lot of inspiration. Perhaps in the future we will be able to create Poké Balls with stronger binding abilities, even to the point of forcible sealing. By then, even god-level Pokémon can be sealed." Wang Qiyi knew that there was a Master Ball in the game, and that thing could really forcibly capture god-level Pokémon.

Everyone who heard this thought Wang Qiyi was exaggerating. While none of them had ever seen the power of a god-level elf, it was documented in history textbooks. In both Warcraft wars, god-level elves had intervened. The special powers of ordinary elves alone wouldn't be enough to counter humanity's nuclear weapons. However, the power of a god-level elf was perhaps even more terrifying than nuclear weapons; it could annihilate the world.

If a Poké Ball capable of sealing god-level Pokémon truly appeared, the world would shift again. This wouldn't necessarily be a good thing for human civilization. It all depended on who possessed this power. If an ambitious individual mastered this technology, the world would be in turmoil. Therefore, the vast majority of those present prayed that such technology would not materialize.
