Sword of the Nine Heavens, the Fall of the Gods

Chapter 5 Entering the Mountain Gate at Night

The sedan was floating in front of him, Chengfeng's heart beat faster and curiosity surged in his heart.

He leaned forward, trying to peek into the secret in the sedan through the thin curtain.

Despite trying hard to observe, there was always a deep darkness hidden behind the curtain and nothing could be seen clearly.

Chengfeng frowned slightly, and a hint of confusion and uneasiness flashed in his eyes.

My fingers unconsciously touched my chin, which is a common habit when I am nervous.

"Little ghost, don't look for me anymore. You can't see me."

The voice from inside the sedan chair sounded again, with an unquestionable majesty.

Chengfeng was surprised, "You...you are talking to me in the sedan?"

The voice in the sedan carried a deep sense of calm and detachment.

"Little ghost, I just want to tell you, don't take on such a big cause and effect so easily."

“That maggot of destruction, even Hongjun from the Xuan Realm would have to go through some trouble to deal with it.”

"You, a rookie who has just started out, cannot bear this kind of cause and effect."

"What...what do you mean?"

As for the ancestor Hongjun and the maggots of destruction, Chengfeng was like listening to a heavenly book and had no idea in his mind.

Chengfeng scratched his head and carefully observed the sedan in front of him, but he couldn't tell who was inside.

The voices coming from this fist-sized sedan were clearly human voices.

But who could sit in such a small sedan? It was incredible.

No, what is this dark place where I fell?

Could it be... could it be hell?

Could it be that the person sitting in this sedan is a ghost from the underworld?

Thinking of this, Chengfeng turned pale and his whole body was soaked with cold sweat.

"This... is this the underworld? Am I dead?"

Chengfeng lost his voice in an instant and felt extremely depressed.

Unexpectedly, his life came to an end so soon, without even holding the girl's little finger.

Chengfeng stood there in a daze, just about to recall his failed life.

But then the old voice said, "Little ghost, life and death are just the positive and negative sides of energy. Don't worry too much about it."

"It is fate that you can come here from the Earth Root Tree. I have noted that you have an extraordinary physique. This is not the place for you to stay. Go back."

As the old man's voice fell, a seven-colored rainbow suddenly fell at Chengfeng's feet and slowly lifted him up.

Cheng Fengshang was immersed in sadness and couldn't extricate himself.

When he noticed something was wrong, he found himself standing under a big tree.

The rainbow under my feet has disappeared.

The big tree is still the same big tree, as if time has not passed, and it is still the place where I rested before.

The crescent moon hangs high above our heads, embellishing the dark sky with a poetic and dreamy look, with twinkling stars and a hazy glow.

"I'm not dead?" Chengfeng pinched his thigh hard, and the pain came over him, but he regained consciousness.

Standing under the tree and recalling what just happened, it seemed like an absurd and bizarre dream.

But all of that was so real.

But this reality is too weird and too fantastic.

The evening breeze brought with it the roars of wild beasts in the distance, the sounds were shrill and terrifying.

Chengfeng shuddered and thought of the mandrill again.

That ferocious monster left too deep an impression.

"This place is not safe!"

Chengfeng whispered, not daring to stay any longer. He had to leave this strange place and find a safe way out.

Chengfeng took a deep breath and walked away along the path under his feet.

This road is not the path leading to the previous one.

But at least one thing is certain, as long as there is a road, it must have been made by people and it will definitely lead to a densely populated area.

Chengfeng quickened his pace, and his lonely figure shuttled through the jungle.

I don’t know how long I walked, but sure enough, I found a dilapidated house at the foot of a mountain.

This is an old courtyard building, and the house is not very big.

The surrounding walls had collapsed in many places and were covered with messy green grass.

The gate to the house was closed, and the paint on the door was mottled and peeling off in many places.

The two bronze door knockers on the gate were still shining in the moonlight, indicating that someone must be living there.

It was already very late, Chengfeng did not dare to rush in. He sat down by the door and waited quietly for the dawn.

After tonight's thrilling encounter, my body is exhausted.

Leaning against the foot of the gate, my tense mood finally relaxed a little.

Not long after sitting down, Chengfeng fell asleep.

The next day, the sun was already high in the sky.

The sun shines on the earth, bringing infinite warmth to this ancient world.

The morning light shone through the sparse clouds and fell on Chengfeng, coating his tough and powerful body with a layer of golden light.

"Wake up! Wake up!"

In his sleep, Chengfeng felt someone shaking his shoulders and calling loudly in his ear.

Slowly opening his eyes, Chengfeng found two strange men, one old and one middle-aged, standing in front of him.

The old man was in his seventies, dressed in grey plain clothes. Although he was a little thin, he looked strong and energetic.

The gray beard under his chin fluttered in the wind, giving him a hermit-like demeanor.

The middle-aged man looked to be in his forties, with a pale face, a slight beard, a full forehead and a square chin.

A moon-white brocade robe fluttered in the wind, with a scarlet-golden water-cloud silk ribbon tied around the waist.

He looked extraordinary, holding a package in his left hand and a shining silver snake sword in his right hand.

Two people, one old and one middle-aged, were standing in front of the gate, looking him up and down carefully, with a hint of surprise on their faces.

Chengfeng stood up quickly, clasped his fists and said, "Two elders, I got lost last night and was chased by a mandrill. I experienced some risks and stopped here. Please forgive me for disturbing you."

"You saw the mandrill?"

The old man was surprised and looked at him again.

"Young man, you are not an easy person to escape from the mouth of a mandrill. What's your name? Where is your home?"

"My name is Chengfeng, and I'm from Yeyi..."

Chengfeng realized that these two people should be the owners of the courtyard.

Sleeping so late will block people from coming in and out and will definitely disturb them.

Chengfeng felt a little guilty, so he told the two of them about what happened last night.

"Who is your master? What kind of martial arts have you practiced?" The man in brocade clothes was skeptical about Chengfeng's words.

He didn't believe that Chengfeng could escape from the mandrill's mouth, and he was even more unconvinced about his absurd experience of falling into a big tree hole.

"I am just an ordinary country boy. I don't have a master, and I don't know any martial arts. I just have some brute strength."

In response to the questions from the man in brocade clothes, Chengfeng did not hide his background.

"Haha! Do you have strength?" The man in brocade clothes sneered.

He pointed his Silver Snake Sword at a long boulder outside the gate.

"Boy, what you just said is really absurd and unbelievable."

"You said you have strength. Well, if you can move this huge stone, I will believe you."

"Otherwise, if you dare to speak nonsense in front of my teacher's mountain gate, I will never forgive you."
