Big Capitalist

Chapter 11: The Communicating Crystal

Weber heard Merlin's words and looked at the chicken that was pushed over to him with some dissatisfaction. "Hey, kid, what do you mean? What do you mean by this? Do you think this is enough for me? Is it enough for me? Huh?"

"That's all there is. What can I do?" Merlin pointed at the remaining chicken in the lotus leaf.

"Eat! You must eat with big mouthfuls! If others see you, they will think that I can't afford it. Aren't there a lot of red-crested white-feathered chickens over there? Do it! Now! Immediately! Do it!" It was the first time in Weber's life that he had eaten such delicious food. In order to satisfy his appetite, he completely ignored the white-feathered chickens that he had raised with great effort over the years.

As for the guilt my friends gave me? What a joke! I have worked so hard to take care of these white-feathered chickens for so long, it is time for them to repay me!

At this moment - in the distant Emerald Forest, this is where the elves live.

A huge bear was lying on the emerald green grass, lazily basking in the sun. Suddenly, it seemed to sense something.

The brown bear sat up slightly with clumsy movements, and slapped the air in front of it with its thick paws. A stable space crack opened, and a green figure flew out from it.

It was the owl that Weber used to deliver the letter. The owl landed on his shoulder and rubbed the bear's head affectionately.

"It's you again, little one. If I hadn't cast a locating spell on you, it would have taken you who knows how many days to fly here. Let me see what my old friend wants to share with me next."

The seemingly clumsy bear began to read Weber's letter, and when he saw the emotions of care and love for the red-crested and white-feathered chickens conveyed between the lines, he couldn't help but laugh.

He is worthy of being my human friend. He takes such good care of the little pet I gave him. The red-crowned and white-feathered chicken is a rare species in the Elf Forest. He was reluctant to give me a few more. I didn't expect that my old friend could breed dozens of chickens with the few he gave him. He is really amazing.

"Maybe my old friend is still taking good care of those little cuties." The bear thought.

"Old Deng, I have lived for so long, but this is the first time I have eaten something so delicious. No wonder the red-crowned white-feathered chicken is almost extinct in the Elf Forest. It is so delicious." The demigod Weber was eating chicken in big mouthfuls at this moment, and there were two beggar chickens being roasted in front of him.

In the air nearby, invisible magical hands were plucking the feathers of red-combed, white-feathered chickens, and a few that had already been plucked were being washed in a stream nearby.

"Lao Deng, can you eat so much?"

"You can keep it if you can't eat it."

Merlin looked at the spices in his pocket helplessly. "The spice bag is empty. I can't make any more. Oh, don't forget to leave one for me. I have to hand it in for alchemy class tomorrow."

"What alchemy class requires making food?"

"As for the task of perfume making, I really can't make body water and aromatherapy. Old Deng, what do you think of me handing over food made with spices?" Merlin asked while spitting out a chicken bone.

"So you are a first-year kid. You know, although perfumery has been developed for such a long time, there has been no development in the field of cooking. This is really a new idea. Maybe you can become the first one." Weber said after thinking for a while while gnawing on the chicken neck.

"Come on, black peppermint and the like have long been used on the dining table."

"That's not development at all. It's just simply sprinkling spices on it to enhance the flavor. Yours is different. It's the combination of spices that produces a miraculous effect."

Weber's words made Merlin think. It seemed that he could really make money from food.

"You're right, but let's talk about this later. I have to finish my homework for tomorrow's alchemy class first." Merlin said as he picked up a lump of earth, which contained the roasted beggar's chicken in lotus leaves.

Weber used his cane to hook the dirt in Merlin's hand. "This is a red-crowned white-feathered chicken. You don't need to hand in such a good thing for alchemy homework. You might as well make one with an ordinary chicken."

"What? This chicken is very valuable? Old Deng, I don't have any money right now, so don't ask for too much." Merlin looked at Weber warily.

Weber snorted, "I don't want your money, kid. Your cooking skills are really good. For such a delicious dish, I should pay you."

Merlin held out his hand to Weber. "Then give me the money."

dong dong dong-

The cane hit Merlin on the head, and Weber snorted, "How dare you ask for it, little brat!"

"Didn't you say so? Why wouldn't you dare ask for it?" Merlin covered his head and looked at Weber resentfully.

Weber laughed when he heard Merlin's words and then said, "You're welcome. It's been a while since anyone asked me for anything. But after eating this flower chicken you made, I'm in a good mood and it's okay to give you something."

After saying that, Weber took out a square crystal from his arms and threw it to Merlin.

Merlin quickly took it and asked in confusion when he saw the translucent square crystal, "Old Deng, what is this?"

"Try injecting magic into it."

Merlin mobilized the weak magic power in his body into the crystal, and soon the crystal in his hand lit up.

"This... this is..." Merlin looked at the crystal in his hand with a strange look on his face. There were frames on the lit crystal with names written on them.

The name at the top was Hess Jones Weber. Merlin felt like he had heard this name somewhere before, but he just couldn't remember where.

"Is this the other-worldly version of WeChat?" Merlin asked doubtfully.

"WeChat?" Weber was a little confused. Where on earth did this kid come from? What were he talking about? What's "stroll", "fuck", "WeChat"? Which place in Aize continent is this dialect from?

Merlin shook his head. "Just treat it as something I said, Lao Deng, how do you use this thing?"

Weber pointed to the name on the top of the crystal and said, "Kid, this is me. You can control your magic power and input the information you want to convey into the crystal. The information will appear on the crystal in my hand. Isn't it convenient?"

It’s confirmed, it’s the other-worldly version of WeChat!

"But you have to remember that this thing can only be used within the academy. It cannot be used outside of this range."

Merlin put the thing away after Weber finished speaking.

"What's this thing called?"

"I call it the communication crystal. How about it? Isn't it a great invention?" Weber looked at the boy in front of him with some surprise. Why did this boy not look surprised at all, as if he had seen it before.

You know, when I first made the communication crystal, it shocked many alchemy masters.
