Quick Wear: True and False Life

Chapter 68: Real Gold in the Historical Literature 29

In the evening, Lu Nan received a call from the village chief, who agreed to let his eldest son and his wife come to Beijing to help, and bought train tickets for them to arrive at noon three days later.

Three days later, she took a leave at noon and took Haozi to the train station to pick up Lu Chengming and his wife.

"Uncle Lu, Uncle Lu, here." Haozi shouted when he saw Lu Chengming from a distance.

There were so many people that it was very crowded. By the time Lu Changming and his wife squeezed out, they were sweating all over.

"Uncle Lu, Aunt Lu, Haozi, help Uncle Lu carry his things." Lu Nan greeted them as soon as he saw them come out and took Aunt Lu's things.

After picking up their luggage, they rented a car and took them directly to People's Park, where their grandmother had cleaned out the backyard two days ago for the couple to live in.

"Chengming is here. Let Nannan take you in first." Grandpa said as he collected the money when he saw them coming.

"I know, uncle!"

After the couple is done, grandma will bring the children over to serve them food. Knowing that Lu Changming and his wife were coming, she cooked a lot.

"Mom, Mom..." An An can walk very steadily now. He follows his grandmother to and from home and the store every day. His legs are stronger now and he no longer needs anyone to hold him. At most, he can walk slower.

"An An, have you eaten?" Lu Nan picked up An An and asked.

"Eat minced meat, it smells so good." An An can now say more and more words.

"Are you full? Let me see." Lu Nan asked and touched his stomach.

"I'm so full, my stomach is like a drum."

After playing with the children for a while, everyone started to eat. After eating and cleaning up, they talked about work.

"Uncle Lu, when we invited you here, we only briefly talked about the job. What I'm going to talk about next is the specific scope of the job."

Lu Nan first talked about what was going on. She had already negotiated it here. Uncle Lu only had to ship the goods back every day and then sort the items and put them on the shelves. He would also be responsible for delivering those who bought a lot. As for the car, there was a bicycle at home, which would be enough for the time being.

Aunt Lu has to help greet customers in the store. The store is quite wide and it is difficult for one person to handle it all. She also has to sort out the goods at all times.

"Uncle Lu and Aunt Lu, do you want to cook for yourself or do you want us to provide the meals?"

"Provide the food! It's too troublesome to do it ourselves." Lu Changming and his wife replied after discussing it.

"Then for food and accommodation, it will be 85 yuan for Uncle Lu and 68 yuan for Aunt Lu. I wonder if Uncle Lu and Aunt Lu think so?" The standard given by Lu Nan was determined based on the general situation.

Lu Changming and his wife were overjoyed after hearing this. The average formal job in Fengqiao Town only pays about 30 or 40 yuan, and they have to pay for their own food and accommodation.

"No, I have to thank you very much, otherwise it would not be my turn." Lu Changming sincerely thanked his niece Lu Nan and said with great gratitude.

Since then, Lu Nan no longer had to run back and forth many times a day. She had much more free time and also had time to consider the problems of the storefront and the restoration of the courtyard house.

Time passed quickly, and three years later Lu Nan was assigned to the archaeology department before graduation. However, Lu Nan could not adapt to this job. It was fine when he was free, but he was nowhere to be seen when he was busy. He could not take care of his family, which made him worried about the old and young at home, so he planned to quit this job after graduation.

Recently I heard my grandma say that she wanted to go home. At first I didn’t understand why she suddenly went back at this time. Later I found out it was because of Fang Yan. She and Xu Zhengrong both passed the college entrance examination. She was admitted to the local normal university, and Xu Zhengrong was admitted to a mechanical college. Later, because of a fight, Xu Zhengrong moved to the school to live.

Xu Zhengrong graduated early and had an affair with a widow at his workplace. When Fang Yan found out, she came to his house and Xu Zhengrong was protecting the widow, but accidentally pushed her. As luck would have it, his head hit the corner of the table and he was sent to the hospital on the spot. He is still conscious now and has been put in critical condition.

Lu Nan himself didn't have any ideas. He could go there and temporarily leave the store to his uncle Lu and his wife.

When talking about Second Uncle Lu, we have to talk about Uncle Lu. Uncle Lu and his wife saved enough money in two years, rented a store from Lu Nan's name and opened a noodle shop. The business was booming, and later it was taken over by Second Uncle Lu and his wife.

After arranging everything at home, Lu Nan took the whole family back to the village by train. After leaving the train station, he felt that there had been great changes here after not being back for four years. He still remembered the feeling when he first arrived in Fengqiao Town and the hesitation of ushering in a brand new life. But now he had a feeling that things had changed and people had changed.

"Uncle Lu, Aunt Lu, this way." Lu Chengjiang shouted loudly.

"Xiao Jiang! Is this your son?" After getting out of the platform, the grandfather put down his things and looked at Lu Chengjiang.

"Uncle Lu still remembers it! Bring him over to keep him company, call someone."

"Hello, Grandpa Lu, Grandma Lu."

"The one over there can be called Sister Nannan, Brother Haozi, and the youngest one can be called Anan." Lu Chengjiang said this because he was afraid that he didn't know how to address them because he didn't recognize them.

"Sister Nannan, hello, Brother Haozi."

"Hello! Come and have some candy." When Lu Nan heard him calling, he quickly grabbed a handful of candy and stuffed it into his hand and said.

When they arrived at the village, Lu Nan tidied up the house first and settled everyone down, then he took Haozi for a walk in the mountains. He hadn't been back for several years, so he went to take a look.

It was still the same cave. Haozi suddenly thought of fish. He remembered this place very clearly, so he thought it would be nice to come here to grill some fish and bring some back later.

As for my grandparents, the village chief came to invite them to dinner to thank them for taking care of their two sons. Of course I went, bringing gifts with me and having a gathering with all the old friends. There are not many opportunities like this.

My son An An has lived in Beijing since he could talk. He has never seen such a big tree. There are many pheasants, wild rabbits, birds, and all kinds of magical plants in it. He chatters with his father and always has endless things to say. Is it possible that there are so many fantasies in the world of children?

"Haozi, hold on to An An." Lu Nan looked up and saw his son grabbing leaves and staggering, so he instructed him.

"An'an, An'an, hand!"

"Daddy, Daddy, hand...hand..."

Lu Nan found it somewhat amusing. The father and son were talking at cross purposes. One was talking about the son's hand, and the other said the leaves looked like hands. It was really funny.

After finally arriving, Haozi immediately used a flashlight to check if there were still any fish in the pond.

"Daddy, fish..." An An is a lively and active child. As soon as he sees the fish, he wants to catch it and calls Haozi excitedly.

Lu Nan ignored them. He cut a stick, stuck three or four fish on it, lit a fire outside the cave, and grilled the killed fish.

The father and son groped around and saw that there was nothing to do, so they went into the cave to collect some fish. The fish was of good quality and the ones they had stored had been eaten long ago.

They walked in the mountains until three or four o'clock before returning home. An An was so tired that she fell asleep, so Lu Nan asked Haozi to stay with An An for a while.

After the father and son fell asleep, he went out of the house and told his grandmother in the yard to dig up any good medicinal plants she saw.

"Grandma, I'm leaving now. Please help me look after the two people in the house." Lu Nan said to his grandmother while holding a basket and a small shovel.

"I know. We are having dinner at the village chief's house tonight. If you can't come back, you can handle it yourself." Grandma knew her very well. She must have seen something she liked and she had to bring it back.
