Quick Wear: True and False Life

Chapter 48 Fake Gold in the Period Literature 9

After returning to the village, Fang Nan sent Haozi home first. Before entering the house, she stuffed three meat buns into his pocket and told him to come play with her again tomorrow.

As soon as Haozi entered the house, Aunt Cui in the kitchen saw her son coming back. She wiped her hands and quickly pulled him into the house. She was actually worried because her son had problems since he was a child, so she had never taken him out of the village. After all, the villagers would not bully him.

"Haozi, are you happy going to town today?" "Yes, my sister took me to see grandpa and brother, and gave me some sugar water."

"I also bought some cakes, and my sister took me to eat braised pork, which was delicious."

"My sister asked me to bring this back so that I wouldn't eat it secretly." Haozi said happily to his mother, holding up the biscuits and the buns like a child showing off his academic performance.

Aunt Cui wanted to cry when she heard this, but she bent over and wiped her tears secretly for fear of being seen. She knew Fang Zhiqing was so kind and willing to take care of him. She had rarely seen her son so happy.

Lu Changhe came in just in time and saw her wiping her tears. Looking at how happy his son was, he could guess what his wife was thinking.

He listened to his wife's retelling, took a puff of his pipe and said, "Take good care of Fang Zhiqing in the future. My son has a simple mind, but he can easily feel good and evil. He likes to follow a kind-hearted person."

Winter came in a blink of an eye. After work, everyone liked to go up the mountain to collect firewood, but Fang Nan had already stockpiled most of it. He just habitually took Haozi up the mountain every day to steal some food and pick up some more.

As soon as he got down the mountain that day, he received a letter from the village party secretary. Fang Nan thought that since the letter had taken more than two months to arrive, he might have asked someone to check it out with his adoptive parents. He didn't know what the situation was.

After dinner, Fang Nan calmly took out the letter and read it. The letter was written by the adoptive mother Bao Huixin. The general meaning was: they used their connections to check and found that the two families might have taken the wrong child. They would come to the hospital to verify it during the year-end holiday and asked her to take care of the child.

Fang Nan sneered after reading it. It was really realistic that she only realized something was wrong after the money and things were cut off, and she still wanted her to help make up for it. It seemed that the original owner had seen deeply after his death and had completely sobered up. It was right to break off the relationship, and they should not interfere with each other in the future.

When Fang Nan met Lu Mingyu and his wife at her doorstep that day, she took the initiative to invite them into the house to talk. She personally felt that grandparents had the right to know about the matter and they should not suffer any loss.

"Grandpa Lu, Grandma Lu, I invited you two here today because I have something very simple to do." Fang Nan made malted milk for the two of them, put it away and sat down and said.

"Fang Zhiqing, if you have any problems, just tell me. I will help if I can. Don't be polite." Grandma Lu and Fang Nan had been in contact for a while, but their relationship became cold due to Lu Yan's jealousy. She felt that Fang Zhiqing was a decent and polite person, so she spoke up.

"I don't know where to start, so why don't you take a look at this letter first." Fang Nan stood up, took the letter from the cabinet and handed it to Lu Mingyu.

After Lu Mingyu received the letter, he read it roughly and was very surprised. He read it carefully again to confirm that it was correct. The letter conveyed the message that Fang Nan was his granddaughter.

Seeing her old man's face changing, Grandma Lu quickly took the letter and read it herself. After reading it, she felt that it was a good thing that her granddaughter was Fang Nan. Why? This has to do with Lu Yan, who has been domineering, selfish, and jealous since she was a child, and she can't get along with anyone.

It's not that she hadn't thought about changing Lu Yan, but later she found that this person could not be changed and would only hide her emotions deeper. Later, she thought it was up to her as long as she didn't kill or burn anything. But she didn't expect that Lu Yan was not her own granddaughter, and she was a little overjoyed.

"Is what the letter said true?" Grandpa Lu confirmed again and again.

"Really? When I saw Lu Yan, I felt that she looked like my adoptive mother Bao Huixin. I checked my adoptive parents, one with A blood type and the other with AB blood type, and they couldn't give birth to someone with O blood type like me."

These were the blood samples that Fang Nan had collected at the hospital and had someone test them. They were just used here to provide additional explanation.

"When I first met you, I always felt that you looked familiar. It seems there is a reason." Grandma Lu whispered as she listened to Fang Nan's answer.

"My adoptive parents said they would come over at the end of the month. Now it's the 21st, so it's only a week or so. Let's go to the hospital together for a check-up then!" Fang Nan pointed out.

After telling the whole story, Fang Nan did not keep the two elders, but asked them to go back and digest it slowly. Thinking that the death of the couple on the same day in the health center was a major incident, it should not be difficult to investigate.

Time passed quickly and in a blink of an eye, the village chief informed Fang Nan that someone was looking for him. This time, the couple came together. After meeting, Fang Nan had nothing to say, and the two families agreed to go to the town together to see what was going on.

When he arrived at the health center, Fang Mingyu had some connections, so he went directly to the director to find out about the matter.

This matter is easy to investigate. On the evening of October 1957, 10, three patients were received. A couple died in a car accident, leaving behind a baby girl; a frightened woman gave birth to a baby girl, and her wife left in a hurry. So if Fang Nan is not the daughter of Fang Mingyu and Bao Huixin, and Lu Yan looks like Bao Huixin, then it indirectly proves that the child was indeed taken away by the wrong person.

To be on the safe side, the two families finally thought it would be a good idea to test their blood types. The results were: Fang Mingyu type AB, Bao Huixin type A, Fang Nan type O, and Lu Yan type B.

Afterwards, the two families went to the People's Hotel for dinner. During the meal, Fang Nan noticed Lu Yan's expression of joy, worry and jealousy, and felt that such a person could not be a good person in his bones.

After entering the People's Hotel, Fang Mingyu went to order food. He ordered two kilograms of rice, a dish of braised pork, a dish of twice-cooked pork, and a dish of cabbage stewed with vermicelli.

It was not time for dinner, so we just sat down at a random table and started talking about the issue of the child's whereabouts.

"We want to take Lu Yan home. If you agree, we would also like to keep Fang Nan so that the two sisters can have companionship in the future." Fang Mingyu wanted to take his biological daughter home while keeping Fang Nan. After all, it would not be cost-effective to let Fang Nan go after raising her to this age, so he would try to keep her.

"I think it's better to raise your own children yourself."

Lu Mingyu was an old and experienced man, so how could he not hear the deeper meaning behind Fang Mingyu's words? Even Grandma Lu could hear it. This man was not necessarily a bad person, but he did have a lot of thoughts in his mind.

"The main reason is that we are worried about the financial pressure on the two elders. It doesn't matter if we support them. We can let them visit you often." Fang Mingyu's words were almost written all over his face.

"No need. We two old people still have many years to live. We can bring Fang Nan back to take care of us in our old age." Lu Mingyu said, "If you are shameless, why should I be shameless?"

"Why don't we ask the child what he thinks." Foster mother Bao Huixin said as she pulled her husband's sleeve under the table. She believed that Fang Nan had feelings for her family and she would stay on her own accord. And Lu Yan grew up in the village and no one could resist temptation, so naturally there would be no problem.

Fang Mingyu listened to what his wife said. After years of married life, he was familiar with her every word and action. He reacted immediately and stopped talking.

"I also think we should ask the child's opinion before making any plans." Grandma Lu said leisurely. From her interaction with Fang Nan, it seemed that she herself would prefer to stay.
