God's Gift

Chapter 554 Ending

Lu Keming froze, his ears turning bright red. He lowered his head, hurriedly picked up the knife, and continued chopping vegetables.

The kitchen fell into a brief silence.

Yu Youyou walked to the side, her mind constantly replaying Lu Keming's lips, and absentmindedly looked at the flowerpot.

Her fingers tapped on the countertop, and with her movement, a cabbage sprouted from the flowerpot.

She pulled up the cabbage, tapped her fingers again, and another small bok choy sprouted from the flowerpot.

When Lu Keming turned back to look at Yu Youyou again, the table was already covered with all kinds of vegetables.

He glanced at Yu Youyou, who was still lost in thought, and couldn't help but chuckle. "Youyou, can you really eat this much?"

Yu Youyou finally came to her senses. She looked at the pile of vegetables in front of her and paused for a few seconds. Then she looked at Lu Keming's mocking smile, stormed over to him, and bumped her head against his chest, causing him to stumble back a few steps.

She gritted her teeth and said, "Stop laughing!"

The two lingered in the kitchen for quite a while before finally finishing cooking.

Ye Yucheng was playing around with Forrest and Skye when she saw Lu Keming come out and asked, "My Lord, why are you so slow today?"

Lu Keming paused slightly, then casually placed the prepared dishes on the table: "I made a lot of dishes, so it took a little time."

"Something's not right." Skye keenly noticed the anomaly. It flew to Yu Youyou's arm, turned its head ninety degrees, and stared at Yu Youyou from bottom to top:

"Oxi, why are your lips so red?"

Yu Youyou's breath hitched, feeling unusually embarrassed. She twisted her neck to avoid Skye's judgmental gaze and looked up at the ceiling.

Skye's angry voice continued, "Did you sneak some food behind our backs?!"

Yu Youyou and Lu Keming paused, looking at Skye and then at Forrest. Under the innocent gazes of the deer and the bird, the two smiled awkwardly.

Lu Keming placed the dishes on the table, ending the awkward atmosphere: "Let's eat."

The autumn wind rustled the withered leaves in the courtyard, and the rising steam from the food on the dining table dispelled the chill of late autumn. Skye and Ye Yucheng, two chatterboxes, got together and chatted noisily, keeping the dining room quiet for a moment.

Skye recounted its heroic deeds in the sky, which made Ye Yucheng's eyes light up. She insisted on going on an adventure with Skye.

Yu Youyou placed a leaf of green vegetable on Furis's plate. Furis slowly stuck out his tongue, rolled the vegetable into his mouth, and thanked Lu Keming and Yu Youyou.

"It was delicious, thank you for your hospitality."

Lu Keming withdrew his gaze from Yu Youyou's face and smiled at Fores, "Welcome to visit us often in the future."

After saying that, he picked up a handkerchief and wiped the rice grains from Yu Youyou's mouth, then raised his hand and stared at Yu Youyou eating without moving.

His gaze lingered on Youyou for a long time, and he didn't participate in their conversation, just quietly and silently watching her.

Laughter filled Lu Keming's ears, and his thoughts drifted away, his dazed eyes still reflecting her bright smile. The scene before him seemed to have turned into a dream again, everything around him as if separated by a thin film, making his consciousness hazy.

The wind gradually grew colder, and the sun in the sky was obscured by thick clouds. He looked up at the window and realized that the sky had become overcast without him noticing.

A cold wind swept up withered leaves and blew them onto the restaurant floor. Lu Keming felt a chill and couldn't help but shiver.

Looking at Yu Youyou's thin dress, he vaguely remembered that he should get her some warm clothes.

Lu Keming stood up and walked dizzily toward the bedroom. His steps grew heavier and heavier, and it took him an unknown amount of time to finally reach his bedroom.

He entered the bedroom, and the scent of her in the air had faded; those faint traces of her presence drifted away, as if she were leaving.

Lu Keming stared at the scattered toys on the blanket, his vision blurring. Unconsciously, he walked over to the toys, slowly picked them up, and placed them back in their original positions.

His heart felt empty, and the world before him gradually faded, leaving only a gray haze, causing his body to tremble uncontrollably.

He seemed to have returned to his dream, to those nightmares where she would return to his side only to turn and leave again.

As you wake up from a dream, the vibrant world in your dream fades to gray, just like it does now.

As he was in a daze, a silvery laugh came from outside.

The laughter was like a sharp blade, tearing apart the nightmare that had trapped him and making everything around him clear again.

"Mingming, why did you come back before I did?" Light footsteps ran past him as Yu Youyou smiled and left a sweet fragrance behind.

"Ye Yucheng actually found the wine cellar and took some wine for Skye and Forrest to drink."

"Skye and Forrest are both drunk now. Skye keeps singing, and she sings terribly, and Forrest is dancing. I can't stand them!"

She enthusiastically recounted everything that had happened after Lu Keming left, her clear voice filling the bedroom.

Her presence filled the bedroom once again. Lu Keming watched as she scrambled onto the windowsill, pulled back the heavy curtains, pressed her face against the clear glass, and stared at the falling snowflakes outside.

"Mingming, look! It's snowing!"

Her voice struck Lu Keming's heart. Looking at the scene before him, exactly the same as in his distant dream, Lu Keming suddenly smiled, and then a hot tear fell from his eye.

It turns out that he had foreseen her return so long ago.

It turns out she had already told him—

She will eventually return to his side.
