God's Gift

Chapter 516 Contract

“No.” Lu Keming shook his head violently. He stared intently at Yu Youyou, his chest heaving, and shouted hoarsely, “I can definitely change everything.”

He raised the dagger high, looking at himself with hatred in his eyes: "As long as I kill him."

“You can’t kill him.” Yu Youyou stood still, not moving. “If you die, I will die too.”

Lu Keming froze, staring at Yu Youyou's unchanging expression, a surprised yet self-deprecating smile on his face.

"You still want to lie to me."

He pulled Yu Youyou in front of him, his thin fingers tightly gripping her hand, his gaze lingering on her smooth arm:

"There's nothing here."

“You haven’t established a real contract with me yet.” Lu Keming clenched his teeth, as if he wanted to crush and grind Yu Youyou between his teeth, and then swallow her flesh and blood together.

"You will not die because of me."

After saying this, Lu Keming released his grip as if he had exhausted himself, looked down at his unconscious self on the ground, his eyelashes trembling slightly: "And there will never be another chance to die because of me."

Yu Youyou gazed into Lu Keming's indigo eyes, eyes that were like an abandoned forest, where sunlight never visited and the rain and mist lingered all day, soaking him to the bone.

She asked him, "Ke Ming, do you know how to establish a contract with Ou Xi?"

“I know.” Lu Keming raised his eyes, his moist gaze falling on Yu Youyou’s face:

"But don't even think about re-establishing this contract now."

Yu Youyou didn't react to Lu Keming's words. Instead, she abruptly changed the subject and asked:

"Ke Ming, do you remember the question I asked you before?"

This question was so absurd that Lu Keming didn't immediately understand it.

Yu Youyou repeated the question: "Back then, I asked you what love meant to you?"

Answer me, are you willing to live for me?

Lu Keming stopped moving, his gaze falling to the ground. After a long silence, he looked at Yu Youyou again, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"is it?"

“Ke Ming.” Yu Youyou’s lips curled up into a bright smile. “I didn’t understand what love was back then, but I do now.”

Do you want to know what love means to me?

Lu Keming stared blankly at Yu Youyou's radiant smile, as warm as the sun, and subconsciously asked, "What is it?"

“I am willing to die for what I love,” Yu Youyou replied. “That is my answer.”

Lu Keming stared blankly at Yu Youyou. After a long while, as if he had anticipated what she was going to do, he slightly curled the corner of his mouth: "You want to establish a contract?"

His gaze turned cold, and his voice became firm:

"It's no use, he's unconscious now and can't hear anything you say."

Lu Keming looked at his unconscious self on the ground. He was already unconscious, and even if Yu Youyou told him that she loved him again, she could not establish a contract with him.

"You can't form a contract with him."

But as Lu Keming looked down at himself on the ground, Yu Youyou suddenly grabbed his hand. Her warmth seeped into his skin, causing Lu Keming's gaze to freeze.

Lu Keming stared blankly at Yu Youyou's bright, warm smile, but an ominous premonition welled up in his heart. He subconsciously stepped back, but Yu Youyou tightly gripped his hand.

Under Lu Keming's alarmed gaze, Yu Youyou spoke without hesitation:

"I love you, Ke Ming."

The moment Yu Youyou finished speaking, the scales on Lu Keming's body on the ground gradually faded away, his tattered dragon wings retracted to his shoulder blades, his sharp claws disappeared, and he gradually returned to human form.

The fish pattern on his arm shimmered with blue light, and the little fish in the pattern came to life, wagging their tails and swimming on his arm. They then swam out of his arm and towards Yu Youyou.

The little fish swam around Yu Youyou's arm, and blue spots of light, like ink stains, were imprinted on the spot where it had just swum, leaving an identical fish pattern on Yu Youyou's arm.

Then it returned to Lu Keming's arm, circled around it once, and then fell into a quiet sleep.

Yu Youyou developed the same fish-shaped markings as Lu Keming on her arm.

Lu Keming stood there blankly, like a clay or wooden sculpture, his eyes empty and unfocused.

It's him.

How could it be with him?

This heartfelt confession has now become the most vicious curse, like a poisoned icicle piercing deeply into Lu Keming's chest.

The love he once longed for has now dragged him into an endless abyss.

"I will give up my eternal life for you." Yu Youyou's voice continued, her resounding words like the most sincere vow at a lovers' wedding.

But these vows, which were even more moving than their wedding vows, caused Lu Keming unbearable pain.

Lu Keming's body trembled again, blood spilling from his mouth. He forcefully broke free from Yu Youyou's hand and staggered backward, saying, "Don't say anymore."

But Yu Youyou's voice continued, relentlessly drilling into his brain: "From now on, our lives are intertwined."

"Your life is my life, your death is my death."

Lu Keming covered his ears tightly, his voice trembling with pain: "Stop talking!"

Yu Youyou bent down and picked up the dagger that had fallen to the ground. The dagger rusted and decayed in her hand, eventually turning into a handful of rusty ash that scattered on the ground.

"Ke Ming, now that you're dead, I'll die too."

She knelt before Lu Keming, cupped his face in her hands, and kissed his tear-filled eyes:

"So, don't kill him."

"Don't kill yourself."
