God's Gift

Chapter 514 Liar

As Yu Youyou's body continued to heal, with one foot stepping into the damp mud, his black figure pushed aside the still raindrops in the air and slowly walked towards Lu Keming, who had fallen to the ground.

As if sensing something, Yu Youyou slowly raised her eyes and glanced at the person who had come.

It's a man in black.

Noticing Yu Youyou's gaze, the man in black stopped in his tracks. Under the brim of his hat, shrouded in black mist, he seemed to be watching her as well.

His misty gaze fell upon Yu Youyou's healing wounds, his eyes seeming to hold a thousand unspoken words, yet ultimately only condensing into one:

"sorry."

After saying that, the man in black turned around without hesitation and walked to Lu Keming's side. He looked down at Lu Keming, who was still in dragon form and had a breath of life left, and remained silent for a long time.

After a while, the man in black raised his hand, and a silver dagger appeared out of thin air in his hand, which was covered by an iron glove.

He raised the dagger high, aimed it at Lu Keming's heart, and stabbed him without hesitation.

The suspended water droplets, like countless mirrors, reflected the shape of the silver dagger, as if thousands of daggers were simultaneously heading towards Lu Keming.

Before the dagger pierced Lu Keming's body, a vine broke through the ground, trembling as it coiled around the dagger, preventing it from continuing downwards.

The man in black stopped what he was doing. He looked at the vines wrapped around the dagger and glanced at Yu Youyou.

These fragile and delicate vines are just like their owner's current situation.

His injuries have not yet healed, and his divine power is still weak.

The man in black withdrew his gaze, lowered his eyes to look at the vines entwined with the dagger, and said in a low voice:

"I'm sorry, the only thing that can't stop me is when you're injured."

As his voice fell, the vines on the dagger withered and died in an instant.

The man in black exerted force, pushing the dagger further downwards.

"Stop." Yu Youyou's voice rang out.

Yu Youyou leaned on Xiao Ou's shoulder. Although her body had recovered considerably thanks to the nourishment from Xiao Ou's blood, her lips were still pale, and her voice was weak: "Don't kill him."

"Lu Keming".

Yu Youyou's words were somewhat ambiguous, leaving the man in black momentarily confused. Did she mean "Don't kill Lu Keming," or—

They are calling his name.

For a moment, the man in black was dazed, and he stared blankly at Yu Youyou.

Yu Youyou comforted the somewhat uneasy Xiao Ou, then stepped out of Xiao Ou's arms. She stood up and walked step by step towards the man in black, repeating what she had just said:

"Don't kill him, Ke Ming."

The man in black finally realized that she was calling his name.

His movements abruptly ceased, and even his breath was taken away. He could only stand frozen in place, watching Yu Youyou approach him.

Her steps were slow, her figure moving through thousands of raindrops, gradually becoming clearer in his eyes.

After a long wait, Yu Youyou finally arrived in front of the man in black.

She grasped the hand of the man in black holding the knife, and took the dagger in his hand as well.

Then she raised her eyes, her misty eyes fixed intently on the man in black.

The focused gaze and the familiar warmth of her palm sent shivers down the man's spine, causing his tightly clenched hand to tremble uncontrollably.

The black mist under the hat brim gradually dissipated, and the face that had been obscured by the mist gradually appeared, revealing a face exactly like Lu Keming's.

They are not exactly the same.

His face remains unchanged, but his short hair has now grown to his waist, and his once jet-black hair has turned silver-white.

This is the only mark that time has left on him.

Yu Youyou stared blankly at Lu Keming's silver hair. She raised her hand, picked up a lock of hair, gently stroked it in her palm, and murmured softly:

"very beautiful."

Lu Keming looked down at Yu Youyou's movements. His chest heaved, as if his dormant heart had finally awakened and was beating again in his chest cavity.

His body was still trembling, and his breathing was becoming increasingly rapid.

"You knew it was me all along."

Yu Youyou nodded gently, placing her hand on the hilt of the knife, intending to take the dagger from Lu Keming's hand.

But Lu Keming's hand kept clenching, holding the dagger firmly in his hand.

Yu Youyou looked up at Lu Keming and coaxed him softly:

"Mingming, give it to me."

Such an intimate tone made Lu Keming momentarily lose his focus, his somewhat unfocused pupils reflecting Yu Youyou's face.

His Adam's apple bobbed as he took a deep breath. The cold air cut through his throat like a blade, giving him a somewhat addictive pain.

He hadn't heard her call his name for far too long.

So long that he thought he had long forgotten what that feeling was like.

But now, when she calls him again, those memories that have been fading with time surge back like a tide, instantly overwhelming him.

He almost drowned in such intimacy.

Lu Keming's hand unconsciously relaxed, but just before Yu Youyou was about to successfully remove the dagger, he suddenly snapped back to reality and grabbed Yu Youyou's hand.

His gaze turned cold as he stared intently at Yu Youyou, and he spoke through gritted teeth:

"fraud."

The voice contained hatred, yet it was not simply hatred; a deep-seated love and hatred lingered in his very bones, making it impossible for him to distinguish between them.

Upon hearing Lu Keming's words, Yu Youyou paused for a moment, stopped what she was doing, and slowly released Lu Keming's hand.

Her warm hand was moving away from him, and Lu Keming's hand almost subconsciously chased after her departing fingers, greedily searching for her warmth.

But the next moment, Lu Keming came to his senses. He awkwardly withdrew his hand and staggered back a step.

Yu Youyou watched Lu Keming stagger backward and patiently asked, "Keming, why do you insist on killing yourself?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Keming abruptly looked up at Yu Youyou. Seeing her innocent and sincere expression, he suddenly chuckled softly.

"Because you lied to me."
