God's Gift
Chapter 500 Betrayal
As Su Yun exclaimed, the particle cannon flew towards Yu Youyou at high speed.
At first, everyone thought that the particle cannon was targeting the Eye of Hela.
After Su Yun's voice sounded, they all turned their heads and saw with their own eyes that the particle cannon fell on Yu Youyou.
After a huge roar, Yu Youyou's figure disappeared in the smoke.
Amidst the deafening roar, Lu Keming shouted at the top of his lungs:
"Pomelo!"
Amidst the noise and roar, Xiaoou, who was immersed in her own world, suddenly shuddered and looked out the window as if she was suddenly awakened.
She dropped the gull doll in her hand, stepped on the dust with her little white leather shoes, and stumbled out of the aircraft.
She stood outside the aircraft and looked up in the direction of Yu Youyou. Her eyes, like mirrors, reflected the sky and Yu Youyou's shadow.
Everyone held their breath and stared at the smoke motionlessly.
Until the smoke cleared, Yu Youyou's figure gradually appeared.
Her arm had been severed by the particle cannon, and blood gushed out from the wound. She clutched her wound and slowly raised her head amid the panicked gazes of the crowd.
There was no expression on her face, her messy hair stained with blood stuck to her cheeks, and the puppy ears on her head were tilted weakly.
She just glanced at Ars No. 1 calmly, then turned around without hesitation and continued to approach the Eye of Hela with her other uninjured hand.
As Yu Youyou moved, the particle cannon muzzle of Als No. 1's arm condensed with light again and fired another particle cannon at Yu Youyou.
But this time Yu Youyou was already prepared. The waves under her feet changed their trajectory and carried her to avoid another attack from Als No. 1.
The students on the ground looked at this scene in astonishment, and turned to look at Als No. 1 which was constantly attacking Yu Youyou.
"Why did it attack Yu Youyou?"
Lu Keming turned and ran into the flight cabin, finding Su Yun sitting in front of the control panel. He strode forward, grabbed Su Yun's hand, and asked sternly:
"Su Yun, what are you doing?!"
A layer of cold sweat broke out on Su Yun's forehead. She tapped her fingers quickly on the console, trying to find out the reason for the error in the ARS No. 1 program.
"Als One is out of control."
Her mind was in a mess.
Why would Als One change an order she had given?
Suddenly, Su Yun seemed to have thought of something and stopped what he was doing.
"Vici."
There was a tremor in her voice. "It's you."
As Su Yun finished speaking, a gentle voice rang out from the cockpit, "I'm here."
Hearing Weixi's voice, Su Yun got goose bumps all over her body. She steered the wheelchair and quickly drove to the hall, only to find that Weixi's body was still there.
Weisi's eyes, without any light, reminded Su Yun that his voice did not come from this mechanical body.
Lu Keming's chest was heaving with intense emotion. He looked at Weixi's body, suppressed his anger, and asked Su Yun with gritted teeth:
"So you can't control these robots yourself?"
Su Yun clenched the wheelchair handle tightly, and she could not give any explanation to Lu Keming's questioning.
She thought that as long as she shut down Vici's program, Vici would no longer be able to do anything.
But he didn't expect that Weixi had already controlled the leader.
The sharp hissing sound of the particle cannon outside the aircraft sounded again. Lu Keming knew that he didn't have time to waste here any longer. He glanced at Su Yun and said in a gloomy voice:
"Whatever the reason, have Als One stop the attack."
After saying that, Lu Keming exited the flight cabin, and huge dragon wings spread out behind him, blocking the flames that fell into the aircraft.
He flapped his dragon wings and flew into the sky in the dust raised by the hurricane. He came alone in front of Als No. 1 and resisted its attack with his flesh and blood.
Su Yun swallowed her saliva, looked up at the monitor in the corner, and said in a cold voice:
"When did you break free from the restrictions?"
Weixi seemed unwilling to answer Su Yun's question, and silence returned to the aircraft again.
Su Yun suddenly pushed Weixi's body down, "Are you going to betray me and betray humanity?"
As the machine crashed to the ground with a bang, Weixi's voice finally rang out:
"I have never betrayed humanity." Weixi's voice echoed in the empty cabin. "Every choice I make is for the better continuation of human civilization."
"According to the core agreement you wrote when I was born, the continuation of human civilization is the primary principle. Therefore, when I detected that your behavior deviated from this principle, I chose to take over the leadership."
Su Yun seemed to have heard something extremely absurd, and his voice was filled with disbelief:
"My behavior deviates from the norm?"
Weixi's voice was calm, without the slightest fluctuation. "According to my calculations, preserving the Eye of Hela is the best option for the continuation of human civilization."
"Leaving the Eye of Hela is the best option?" Su Yun lost his usual gentleness and almost roared:
"Your database records thousands of years of human history. You know better than anyone the disaster that the Eye of Hela has brought upon humanity. Now, are you telling me that everything you do is to preserve human civilization?"
"If we leave the Eye of Hela behind, humans will eventually become monsters or be killed by them!"
"Human civilization will not continue!"
"Disasters are always defined by humans," Weisi said in a steady voice. "But human emotions can lead you to misjudge disasters."
“Not all events that cause pain and harm are disasters.”
"Humanity doesn't necessarily have to exist in the form of 'humans'."
"If biological mutation is considered evolution, then these monsters are new biological forms of humans."
"Rather than monsters, I prefer to call them—'new humans'"
"Compared to the originally fragile and sickly humans, these 'new humans' have healthier bodies, more powerful abilities, and longer lives."
"Human civilization will be able to continue better thanks to these 'new humans'."
"When that day comes, looking back from the end of history, humans will no longer call biological mutations disasters, but rather see them as an inevitable dull pain in the process of human evolution."
