Crossing the Gods as Slaves

Gene knocked on the door of the commander's study and saw a pile of reviewed documents pushed in front of Lu Xiu's desk.

Hearing Gene coming in, Lu Xiu pointed to a few official documents on the corner of the table and said, "These are the ones I approved. You can take them and publish them. And this one is from Sid. Go tell him to come to my mansion right away."

"Yes, Your Highness." Jean put the document back on the commander's desk. "Your Highness, I have already asked Ning Hua. Everything in the letter is true. She does owe Gro 20 million Leeds."

Lu Xiu frowned, picked up the official letter and read it carefully, while Gene seemed to be hesitant to speak.

"It's just a few flower seedlings, only 20 million. You go and transfer the money." After reading the official letter, Lu Xiu threw it on the table and instructed Gene indifferently.

Gene said "yes" again, still standing at the table without moving.

After reviewing the documents, Lu Xiu leaned back in his chair, picked up the teacup and took a sip. Seeing that Gene was still not working, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "What, is there something else?"

Gene thought for a moment: "Just now, she seemed to be crying."

"Who?" Lu Xiu asked and immediately responded, "What's going on?"

Jin didn't quite understand why Ning Hua was crying, but he guessed it was probably because of the money, so he said to Lu Xiu: "Maybe he's afraid he can't pay it back."

"Is she worried that I won't help her pay it back?" Lu Xiu frowned.

"No, no, I guess she's probably worried that she won't have the money to pay you back, Your Highness." Gene quickly expressed his guess.

So that's how it is. Lu Xiu thought about his "illness" and didn't know when it could be cured.

"You reminded me, so let her deduct it from her salary until she pays it off."

Gene opened his mouth in surprise, but then closed it abruptly. He really couldn't understand what His Highness was thinking. What was the point of doing this to a woman he loved... But this was not something he could interfere with. Gene picked up a pile of documents on the corner of the table and went out.

He deliberately went around to the door of Ning Hua's room and knocked.

Ning Hua opened the door with red eyes. Seeing that it was Jin, he asked nervously, "What did His Highness say?"

"His Highness has already agreed to send money to Gro, so you don't have to worry too much, but..."

Ning Hua looked at Gene eagerly, worried that he would hear something bad from him.

Jin looked at Ning Hua's face and felt a little reluctant: "But His Highness said that the money will be deducted from your salary until it is paid off."

Hearing this is the ending, Ning Hua nodded: "I am mentally prepared. If it is this way, I can accept it more easily."

Jinn comforted her again: "Don't worry too much, His Highness is a very good person, you will know it later."

Ning Hua nodded: "Thank you, Gene."

Gene smiled back: "If I have to thank anyone, I have to thank His Highness." However, he immediately remembered that His Highness asked Ning Hua to pay back the money, and silently wondered, could this be His Highness's way of keeping people?

"I still have official business to do, and don't cry. His Highness won't care about this little money." Gene said, pointing to the documents in his arms.

Ning Hua didn't want to delay Gene's work, so she smiled at him and said, "I'm fine. It's just that this happened too suddenly. I was very upset. You should go and do your work. I should also go and bring breakfast to His Highness."

Gene nodded and left.

Ning Hua turned back to her room and looked at herself in the mirror. She saw that her eyes were red. She hurried into the bathroom, patted her face with water, and then put on powder again.

After cleaning up, Ning Hua went to the restaurant to serve breakfast to the commander.
